My girls ( Dalmatian and a Great Dane) are both neutered and this has kept them in good shape, no bloating, no extra calories

I joke that my dogs are trashcans. They love almost everything but wont touch this food. I thought only I was turned off by the smell. They pick it out of their puzzle bowls and eat around the kibbles. Super shocked, now I know why this was on sale. Going back to my original food.

My dog is allergic to fish & chicken. It is extremely difficult to find dog food without one of these ingredients and is NOT grain free. I don’t trust grain free dog foods due to the link in heart disease and all dog food has a fish ingredient or chicken meal. I don’t understand the negative reviews on here… It is not this dog food’s fault that your dog does like the taste. my dog likes it just fine, it does not have a strong odor, and I like the smaller kibble.

Opened it and it smelt horrible. Fed it to my dogs and two of them had diarrhea and vomiting within 24 hrs. One of them refused to eat it after, never had them refuse food before. From previous reviews this seems to be an ongoing issue. Returned to petsupplycanada, if this hasn’t been fixed in almost a year, why would anyone buy anything from them?.

My baby has allergies and this food helped so much. She no longer itches or chews on herself. I recommend it 100%

I bought this food due to their regular Canidae lamb formula being out of stock. Upon opening the bag, it had the strangest smell. It says it has canola in the ingredients and it smelled just like used canola oil. My dogs would not touch it unless I mixed in a large amount of wet food to cover the smell. I wound up dumping over half the bag as soon as their regular food came in, the Canidae grain free lamb. That food is amazing and has no funky odor!
I had to apologize to both my dogs and promise them that I would never do that to them again.

The bag of Candidae was spoiled. I threw away the bag before I realized it. The food smelled spoiled and made the dogs sick. I threw away the contents. I bought 2 bags, the other bag was fine.

I recently opened a bag of Canidae Pure Lamb and Rice and it seemed to smell odd or off. We’ve used Canidae for years. However, my one dog was vomiting after each meal and the other refused to eat it after the first meal. He was also drinking lots of extra water. There is definitely something wrong with this food. My dogs never turn down food. I’ve never had an issue with Canidae until now. My friend said it smelled like PlayDoh.

My husband bought this kind by mistake, my dog loves the grain-free version and eats it up now problem. However, I had the exact same issue as everyone else, rancid oil smell. I tried adding beef stock, cheese, etc and my dog barely touched it. I have contacted Canidae and petsupplycanada about this. Definitely won’t be buy this kind ever again.

I have bought one of each flavor that I thought my dog would like. She was a rescue and was extremely underweight knowing she didn’t get proper nutrition when she was a little baby we have been mixing puppy food with Adult food in the dry kibble. Our dog is extremly picky and has a fragile stomach. We first tried the Puppy formula in this brand & she would not touch it then we added this then she showed more of a interest
We quickly realized she didn’t like the Puppy food at all in this brand but the Lamb formula is her favorite of them all!
I swear she can pick up the smell on a unopened bag and almost beggs for it like it is a treat!
Canidae is definitely a new favorite and the Lamb seems to be the best in our dogs opinion.
I almost forgot to mention we also have rescue Rats they are very sweet and smart one of them was out playing & smelled the Lamb kibble and went to go try it and loved it as well. That was definitely funny and very interesting that the rats even loved this dog food!
If I could give 100 stars on this I would because every animal has loved it and it also has a convincing smell that smells good as a human who smells everything their animals will be eating

Excellent product highlighting strong wholesome ingredients with deboned chicken as first. All my dogs enjoy and I am satisfied with a premium product and cost efficiency.

Worried Jingle wouldn’t like a new dry food. I can no longer find the brand variety she has eaten for 4 years. She seems to like the lamb and rice. I only wish kibble was a little larger.

I bought a 4 lb bag of this food 2 weeks ago. I’ve purchased Canidae products in the past, but I’ve never purchased this particular product before. When I opened the bag it didn’t smell right. My husband said it smelled like paint. The weird paint like smell was overwhelmingly strong. Something has to be wrong with that batch of dog food to make it smell so weird like that.

i bought the large bag a month ago and it didn’t smell bad (perhaps the other reviews had a bad batch?). i like that it isn’t grain free, what with the concerns/links to heart disease. the ingredients are good, not sourced from china, the dog loves it and it doesn’t give her gas. the cat even eats pieces he finds on the floor that the dog missed. my 1 complaint is that we use dog food for training and the pieces are so small it is hard to hold them to give her just one.

Bought this food for the first time, but didn’t realized it had expired 2 weeks prior. Maybe that was why it smelled bad, but I don’t know. My dog would not eat it. Picked it out of the bowl and ate only her old food.

My dog loves this food and it’s natural. It has good clean ingredients and he can’t wait till dinner time!

Never had an issue with this food in the year I have been buying it. I had auto delivery set and the food always smelled like a fresh bag of dog food. Today, it smells like rancid oil. Boyfriend fed the dogs last night so I didn’t smell it until this morning and my older dog was vomiting all night. Pretty disappointed in a $70 bag of dog food.

Similar story: I wanted to offer my pup something different, and since he’s not a picky eater, I bought the big bag. I’ve worked in food long enough to know what that smell is: rancid oil. My pup wouldn’t touch this, even if I drowned it in fish stock – I can mix three kernels of it into other food, and those will still be standing in the bowl when he’s done eating.

I have bought this several times with no issue. This latest bag had a terrible rancid odor. Smelled like old used oil or chemicals.

I have a six year old golden retriever, and a 12 year old springer spaniel. The springer ate it with no problem. The golden retriever won’t go near it for some reason like he just stares at his bowl, and then walks away.
