I will say I don’t think I would use this as litter as it does need to be replaced more often than other litters, such as dried pellets that I use. The bedding is the consistency of sawdust and does not hide the excrement at all. Liquid soaks up quickly but just clumps and remains there, wet. The solid sits on top remains visible instead of falling underneath. Must be cleaned out daily, if not more.

The bag of this bedding might look small but it’s really compacted and a small amount expands by quite a bit. The bedding is soft and very absorbent. For my Syrian hamster that lives in a 40 gallon tank was given this bedding for his cage cleaning, I went to crush the bedding up in the cage and my hands were covered in dust. Switched to this bedding. First thing I noticed was the amount of dust in the air when I pulled some out of the bag. Within 4 days my hamster was sneezing/ hiccuping, had labored breathing. I immediately exchanged this at petsupplycanada for CareFresh. In less than 24 hours my hamster is back to normal with no respiratory issues or allergy symptoms. Deserves zero stars but not an option.

Disappointed in this product. Thought I’d give it a try. Been using Kaytee’s similar bedding for close to ten years. Where my bunny pees with the Full Cheeks, it just goes straight through and then spreads on the bottom of the litter box, in turn soaking way more litter than it should. Thus, I’m going through the bag of Full Cheeks rapidly. It’s also dustier than Kaytee. I will not purchase this again unless I’m desperate.

For my hamster, I spot clean once a week and do a full clean every two weeks. I have zero issue with ammonia, or any type of buildup and he is able to nest as he wants, comfortably. My gerbils get a full clean every three to four weeks as they have very deep bedding within their tank and I have again, had zero issues with ammonia or build up and they are able to tunnel and build caves with no issues. I only like to use soft bedding, and this is really nice and soft for all of them. Very happy with it. And again, they are too.

I bought this for my hamster enclosure since it was recommended to me, and it was a good amount for my money… But it is not safe for hamsters at all!! The dust content is so high and concentrated that it will certainly cause respiratory issues for your hamster. The dust was even too much for me… Very unhealthy. The picture of the hamster should be removed from the package before others purchase it for their own hamsters and unknowingly cause them harm 🙁 it could be okay for another type of animal, but if you are shopping for a hamster, avoid this product for their safety

I buy this bedding on a regular basis. There’s usually a sale going on and I go through bedding fairly quickly for my guinea pigs, so it’s more economical to buy the 85L size. The bedding looks nice, isn’t overly dusty, and seems absorbent. In my experience, urine seems to be absorbed down into the bedding, so that the top layer is still dry. The natural color blends the feces into the bedding more, so it’s not as obvious.

I had been using the Carefresh paper bedding for a number of years but had used it in about 2 years. I recently began buying that product again but the formula had changed where the paper bedding material was far coarser than previously and was disappointed in that product. Based on a promotional email that I received I tried the Full Cheeks product. Once broken down, the bedding material is much softer than the Carefresh and appears to do a good job absorbing urine. The only downside is that the material requires more time breaking it down from the clumps that you get when breaking it off. Overall I am pleased and will be buying more in the future.
