My cat suddenly had bad diarrhea as well as vomiting. After months of vet visits and lots of $$ spent on x-rays, we couldn’t seem to find out was was wrong with him. I was reading a lot about food allergies and decided to change his food to this and boom. No more diarrhea or vomiting! We figured he cannot have poultry or fish in any kind so this is perfect. Wonderful product.

Boughr this product when my vet mentioned one of my cats needs it due to allergy issue. She had like sores, lesions, scabs pop up because of her diet and now they’re all gone and she maintains a happy weight and her coat is back to healthy! Definitely recommend but also to mix with a different food of choice since this alone I feel can be too strong!

I adopted two rescue cats, one of which was about 4 years old and who had chronic diarrhea, bloating & tummy rumblings.  After months of trying different limited ingredient chows with no improvement, my vet advised to try a rabbit based food.  I found Nature’s Instinct and voila! End of the digestive problems.  And my other cat is happy to eat this chow too.   I found Nature’s Instinct online and voila! End of the digestive problems.  And my other cat is happy to eat this chow too.   Their coats look nice and my vet was happy to learn about a rabbit based dry chow to recommend to other patients.

My 1 year old cat, Mr. pickles has been on this food for a little over a month. He has been allergic to everything under the sun. This is the only food that agrees with him. He has been less itchy and his fur is coming back beautifully. Mr. pickles tummy is very happy now, thank you!!

Finally no fish or egg in any form and my cat loves the taste of the LTD rabbit and has no more allergies. I have been using this for over 1 year now and my cat still loves it and looks great. Disregard the color, it makes no difference. My cats allergies finally cleared up after the first 2 months of use, as it can take time for the body to adjust to where she no longer scratched herself to the point of bleeding. She healed up, gained some weight and looks great. I also add the LTD rabbit pouches for a topper, which she also loves.

I have a male kitty that was suffering from Feline Idiopathic cystitis which is basically a very painful bladder infammation possibly brought on by stress. The causes are completely understood yet. I started feeding my kitties the canned rabbit food as I read that chicken and lamb could worsen any inflammation. I saw an improvement in my sickly boy’s ability to fully express his bladder in a week. He seemed completely recovered within 2 weeks. The rabbit food is a bit on the pricey side, so I couldn’t continue to feed him the wet food for more than a few months. It seems like he’s experiencing FIC again, plus the less expensive brands seem to be causing an allergic reaction. I purchased a bag of the limited ingredient rabbit food to see if that helps. If not, I’ll up his fluid intake by going with the canned rabbit again because I’ve seen fantastic results from this product. Oh… and all 3 of my babies love this food.

Recently discovered my cat has food sensitivity. She is 14+ year old senior with hyperthyroidism. Before, she used to throw up after eating, had poor skin & fur quality, smelly stools, even ear infections. This new food seems to have cleared up all her problems. She used to refuse dry food and eat only canned, but the moment she smelled this new food, she loved it and devoured it. She likes your wet kind, too. This food is so perfect for her. Because of her thyroid I love that your good is easy and simple yet has all the nutrients she needs to be healthy. No carageenan or kelp or any other ingredients that will mess with her thyroid. The one animal protein just makes so much sense, it’s simple, easy, clean, pure nutrition. I especially love that it is rabbit, which is easy digestibility for her sensitive stomach and more “natural” to what they would eat in the wild. I also love that it has raw ingredients. It’s an easy way of feeding her raw food without the mess and hassle. She used to be very finicky but she absolutely adores this food and I smile and feel happy for both of us whenever I hear her eating it. She seems happier over all too. I only recently bought this food so I’m still monitoring her progress but so far so good. I am extremely satisfied with this product. Thank you for making it. Worth every penny. My other senior cat enjoys it too. They are both on this food now and if things keep going this well, then they will be for life!

I really wish this food came in smaller pieces. I have a cat that refuses to eat anything but dry food and this recipe is perfect for her. She actually likes it, but I have to chop it into smaller bits for her.

I had an older kitty that had some weird bowel issues, and random things would set her off. Once I started this food, those episodes started to happen less and less frequently. She also really liked the food, which is a bonus. It did make her poop quite a dark color, but considering the kibble is dark, I wasn’t surprised.

My cat struggled for months with an unknown allergy – scratching, licking and pulling her fur out. I tried two brands of Rx hydrolized food but both gave her loose stools. I tried multiple Rx brands of novel protein food but she wouldn’t touch them. She has been eating this for only 3 weeks and has improved dramatically. People complain about the dark color and the extra stinky stool (it’s true) but in my opinion that is a small price to pay for her health and happiness. Please don’t stop making this food!

I completely agree with LokiOrionandPaul. My cat is allergic to chicken (maybe poultry entirely), so I tried this out. His diarrhea went away and his face started clearing up, which is fantastic, but his bowel movements are the stuff nightmares. My friends were watching him while I was out of town. I called this period of time the friendship tester. Still like the brand, will try duck and keep my fingers crossed. He did also eat less food while we tried this, maybe it was rich?

I bought this food in search of a protein that doesn’t aggravate one of our cat’s allergies (vet is thinking it’s a protein allergy). This seems to be working well and our affected kitty is less itchy. But be warned: this food is not for the faint of heart, nose, or stomach. This produces the most foul, most vile, most horrific blackish tar-like excrement this side of the galaxy. It smells as if a whole 30-lb tuna were left out in the desert sun to decomposed for a week before kitty brought it home to further rot away in the litter box. To compound the issue (literally) we have a CatGenie automatic flushing litter box. The slurry of waste clogged the hopper where it is flushed down, and took almost all of the washable litter granules with it. It is so sticky that all the litter pieces cling to it like cinnamon sugar on a churro hot out of the fryer. We are on week 2 of the food and can’t afford to tax our expensive and [usually, until now] reliable CatGenie box like this. So it’s on to another single-source protein food, and salvation

My Bengal was diagnosed with IBD two years ago and had basically stopped eating because his system was so inflamed. After much medication and experimentation, we have found that he is happy and healthy eating Instinct Rabbit kibble and canned food. Our only problem is keeping the other cats from eating it, too (not that it would be bad for them AT ALL, but this stuff is on the expensive side …). Thank you for giving Paco a longer lease on life!

My cats love Nature’s Variety in all flavors, however my little guy has an allergy to poultry, always has diarrhea. I recently switched to the limited ingredient rabbit because of this and the little guy and now his sister (who had no problems before) both have diarrhea. Not sure what it is in this formula that’s making my girl have soft poops too but now I’m stuck with a brand new bag from Chewy and am back to the drawing board for food.

Shadow and I have been in an endless cycle of interactions to food and vet visits trying to find the food that she could eat without negative side effects. She’s been on the rabbit LID for two weeks and there is already an improvement. I couldn’t be happier with the food and the improvement of Shadows quality of life. It’s such a relief to me knowing that her life well be that much happier and healthier.

I bought a small bag about a month ago for my cat to try. I was sceptical because he is VERY picky. I never fed him Rabbit before so I was afraid that he wouldn’t touch it. I was wrong! He absolutely loves it!!!!!! He eats everything in half the time of the other food/brands. He bothers me for more way before he is fed at dinner time. I am honestly thrilled that I found this food for him. I feel great feeding him this high quality food. I love knowing that I’m feeding my baby the best dry food in the market. He is highly allergic to fish, so I had to do my research and find a high quality dry food to feed him. I am so happy that I found it!!!!! Thank you so much makers of, “Instinct The Raw Brand” please don’t ever stop making the, “ Limited Ingredient Diet Rabbit”. I highly recommend this food to any and all pet parents that have fur babies with food allergies or sensitivities.

My cat loves this. I was mixing the brand she did have with some of this. She would eat this first and then have some of the other left. I finally got her to finish off the other brand so now she is just on this one. She has to have a special foo. It can only be made with rabbit. No other meat.

I bought this 5 days ago, and my cat, who had diarrhea for the last 3 months, has had solid stools for 2 days! Some reviews reference the smell of the waste. No, it’s not good, but it’s not as bad as constantly bathing your long haired cat covered in it! We’ve also noticed a change is her behavior. Our loving kitty is coming back!

I bought this immediatly after I discovered that my cat was allergic to chicken. He is a really picky cat. He’s picky about the size of the kibble and the smell of food so its really hard to find him a food that he will actually eat. He loves Instinct foods, particularly the Rabbit Formula kibble and raw nuggets. Since I’ve been feeding it to him, his eyes are a lot brighter and his coat is shiny, smooth and very full. I’m extremely happy with Instinct and the ways it has benefited my finicky cat.

Our elderly cat started regularly throwing up (yuck!) about a year ago. After doing some research, we decided to try a limited ingredient diet (combined with daily brushing, which is also key to this problem). We took our time switching her to this, adding more and more into her old food until she was totally on this, and she is now thriving. If we let her bowl get empty, she’ll eat too fast and throw up again, but it almost never happens any more. She seems much healthier, especially considering that she’s 15 years old.

My cat is allergic to chicken and fish which basically eliminates most brands of cat food. There are only two brands that I have found that don’t contain these ingredients and this is definitely the brand that my cat likes the most. I wish the product did not contain peas or clay as both of these items are not particularly healthy for cats. If I could find another brand without peas, chickpeas, etc… , which is basically useless filler, that was also chicken and fish free I would try that instead, but for now I will have to stick with Instinct rabbit.

My one cat has an allergy, I had her on what I thought was a limited Ingredient food however I didn’t realize that it still had fish in it. So her skin allergy didn’t go away and she was constantly cleaning herself and cleaning this one spot on her stomach until it became red. The vet put her on an antibiotic and a steroid and suggested a one protein one vegetable cat food for her possibly a prescription after all the research I found your line. And I’ve noticed that she’s not cleaning her self obsessively and she has stopped cleaning that red spot and it’s almost healed. She didn’t have any issue adjusting to your food, No loose stools or diarrhea. The only thing I am concerned with was how dark her stool is and how bad it smells. I have an electric litter box with the crystals that self scoops and she normally has about 45 uses before it needs to be changed. However now by used 23 I have to totally change that litter box because the smell is terrible. I’ve tried to go in there and scoop it out but of the little container in between uses but it is just horrifying. Is that normal for them to have dark stools with the stinky smell?

My cat was struggling with a food allergy of some kind and kept scratching at her face until she bled. We put her on this food and after a few weeks, the allergy went away. The only issue we have with this food is that it makes her p**p smell sooooo bad. You can smell it on the other side of the house after she just barely p**ps. But it’s worth it because she feels better and is doing well on it.

I adopted a kitten through a local rescue. Unfortunately, he had intestinal parasites and had to be put on a limited ingredient diet, and rabbit was what his vet recommended. He is on prescription wet food for breakfast, but the Nature’s Variety Instinct LID Rabbit kibble is his dinner. He’s been eating it for five months now. He loves it, and his body loves it too.

Our cats had no problem with this food in the past; and we’ve fed them all of the varieties including duck which, sadly, is apparently no longer available. Unfortunately, with these last few bags with the reconfigured ingredient list – same ingredients but in different amounts, both cats’ poop is way too soft with half of it sticking to their fur (I know, ewwwwww). Took them off of this and their poops were normal again. We feed them a mix of instinct canned, freeze-dried raw, and the L.I.D. kibble (because it’s the only one you offer without any fish protein in it). The only flavor of the canned and freeze-dried raw meals they’ll eat is rabbit. They LOVE the L.I.D. kibble — and we were able to give them some turkey (and duck in the past), too. So, this is the first time I’ve given any Nature’s Variety product less than 5 stars, but I think we’re going to have to stop giving them this kibble because it’s making their poop too much of a mess.

I have 4 cats.  One is allergic to fish and the other is allergic to chicken and several other ingredients.  Also my vet wants them on a grain free diet.  I needed a cat food that all 4 cats could eat and that was not too high in calories.  Although this is not a weight control food, it is lower in calories than a lot of other brands.  So I was so happy to find this food.  With the diet constraints for them, I thought it was going to be hard to find a dry cat food.  This food works for everyone and they all love it.   I have been feeding it to them for about a month and their coats are beautiful.  Out of the LID varieties offered, this was their favorite.

This is the only food my cat can eat without having skin allergies. Not only that but I have seen other health improvements since I switched to this from a veterinary allergy food. Their fur is thicker and softer, there is almost no vomiting(other then the odd fur-ball) and they seem over all happier and more energetic. I love this food so much I got a local breeder(Siamese and Russian blue) on it and they report the kittens being born, after switching to this food, are stronger and healthier. I highly recommend giving this food a try. Only thing to note is the kibble is very dark and therefore your cats poo will darken as well.

I purchased Nature’s Variety because veterinarian suggested implementing at least one grain to cats diet. I am glad I selected Mature’s Variety. My cats love to eat chicken and rice blend for breakfast .

My cat had been having really loose bowels all of a sudden after being fine her entire life (she’s ten). I took her to the vet but she checked out fine.  I decided to switch to the LID rabbit and she has been doing so much better!  Must be a sudden food intolerance.   Luckily she loves it!

I hope this food is the answer I’m looking for. My cat either itches or licks herself to death on certain foods, or vomits. Was on a vet diet with rabbit and it seemed like she peed and drank non stop, which she didn’t do til that vet food. Switched to this food as it was very similar to the vet food. The peeing is back to normal, her fur looks beautiful again and the shedding is back to normal, and so far no vomiting, all in 1 week. And she seems much happier, and she loves the food. At first, however, it gave her horrible gas! Just hope Instinct doesn’t change the formula at all. Some companies are always changing the ingredients, this is perfect the way it is at least for my girl.

I started feeding my cat the limited diet formula because he has an allergy that I can’t seem to figure out, so I’ve been slowly trying to eliminate different things to figure it out. While his allergy still persists, I keep him on the Limited Ingredient Diet because he had also gotten a bit pudgy, and this has helped him to lose about a pound and maintain a healthy weight. I love the entire brand and also feed the wet food. High quality food without a bunch of fillers. I’m a customer for life.

Nature’s Variety is a premium food and one of the best you can feed your cat or dog. My cat started having digestive issues and the vet wanted me to put him on a presciption diet. The food looked and smelled gross. I put my cat on NV’s LID can and wet and his problems immediately went away. I would recommend ANY of Nature’s Variety premium foods for ANY cat and dog.

This food would be a life saver (along with the wet food)… One of my cats has a poultry allergy, and our search for a limited ingredient novel protein diet lead us to Instinct Limited Ingredient Rabbit. A few weeks switching over & everything was going great – the food-sensitive cat’s chin was healing up, gaining weight too. Then the diarrhea started. Probiotics helped for a while, until they didn’t. Finally we took him off this food, found an even more limited rabbit wet food with no green pea, and his digestive issues have completely cleared up. It’s too bad that an expensive dry/wet food like this should have filler that can undermine all the benefits of switching to a limited ingredient diet.

I was recently frustrated and shocked by instinct because of unforgivable changes to the wet food I used to feed… Figured, I should give praise when due… This rabbit coated kibble seems very good! My Cats, who have NEVER had anything but live prey or quality wet food, LOVE IT and beg for it as a supplement to their new brand of wet limited ingredient diet. It passes my visual/smell test and it’s made in USA with pretty good ingredients.. Id never feed this exclusively to them, but ill probably keep buying it as a good quality treat.P.s. bring back the old canned turkey LID! I’ll pre-order!

We adopted two kittens who both had allergies. After searching high and low for the perfect food that they can both tolerate, we finally tried this LID Rabbit food. It has been a godsend! All of their symptoms have cleared up and they are happy and healthy!

Our older cat was diagnosed with probable irritable bowel syndrome, and placed on a novel-protein/limited ingredient diet by our vet. After a couple of years of Royal Canin food based either on rabbit or venison, I found Instinct Rabbit at a chain pet store. After carefully comparing ingredients, I offered some to our cat. Success. She eats it with gusto, and her digestive problems did not return. However, the rabbit kibble formula does give her large, stinky poops. I now order this food from an online vendor at considerable savings over both retail and the RC food at our vet.

My cat Max has digestive issues. His vet recommended Instinct. He is able to eat and process this brand food with no issues. He likes it.

After coming off a series of ear infections, the vet determined that my elderly cat (15+ years) had developed a food allergy and need to be on a more restrictive diet that eliminated poultry and fish. In addition to the difficulty in finding these kind of products, my cat turned his nose up at them whenever I managed to locate one that didn’t include chicken or fish products — until I found this at a local farm supply store. Not only was my cat able to eat and tolerate Nature’s Variety LID Rabbit, but I’ve seen other improvements as well: a shinier, softer coat and fewer ear infections. Believe the hype: paying a little more for premium cat products *does* result in a healthier companion.

We got this for my cat with food allergies showing up as bloody stool. This seems to get rid of the issue, but there is a dye in the food that makes his stool jet black. I know it’s not his allergy worsening because our other, healthy cat, had the same issue on the food.
