Hi I’m Bentley. My family rescued me from a shelter. I’d had a pretty rough start to life and along with all the other issues I had, my belly was never happy. I have a new Great Pyrenees Puppy. My Vet needs me to have Maggie on a Large Breed Puppy Food Blend. They sent me home with a sample bag of Science Diet. So we put him on chicken and rice and it cleared up then slowly reintroduced Merrick puppy-the next day same problem. Now he is on 3 different medications and still not getting better.

I adopted my Aussie/Lab mix puppy in August and the shelter provided me with a bag of Merrick chicken and sweet potato recipe puppy food. Joey seemed to like the food and the reviews seemed good so I continued to purchase the same food. The food in the bag I received from the shelter was shaped more like pebbles. When I purchased a large bag of the exact same recipe from a local retail store the food inside was shaped more like chips and had no issues. However, in a pinch, my next purchase had to be a smaller quantity bag and the food inside was formed like pebbles and almost immediately gave Joey runny stool. The next few large bags I purchased went back the chip form and he had no digestion issues. Then yesterday I purchased my next large bag and we’re back the the pebbles and runny stool. I am positive that I have purchased the exact same recipe every time, but I can no longer rely on this brand for the beast health of my puppy.

We have two dogs – a 14 year old terrier and a 16 week old chocolate lab. The older dog for years ate the same kibble, but this summer after a dental extraction and cleaning he suddenly stopped eating the kibble. We tried him on a variety of dry and wet foods from highly recommended brands for almost two months . Then we tried him on Merrick Tiny Bites. Finally – something he would eat! He eventually progressed to the point where he eats the Tiny Bites mixed with the grain free chicken kibble. It truly saved his life. We love the fact that it is “human quality” food – So much better for him than any other product on the market. When we brought home our puppy there was no question that she was only getting Merrick Puppy Kibble. We call her “the Hoover” for the speed with which she empties her bowl lol. We will never again buy any other brand – fans for life.

After much research and thought, I made the switch to this particular puppy food. I read as many reviews as possible and asked several people prior to switching so I didn’t just switch to switch. Believe me, I have to literally over analyze things before I make a decision.
I have to say that as of this moment I am highly, highly impressed with this product and with Merrick!! My dog absolutely loves this food. I will not bash the brand that I had him on because it is a very reputable grain free brand, he loved it, and I was satisfied BUT I want the best for my little boy!! After comparing the two brands, I was sold on many things but one thing that stuck out to me was the fact of everything being AMERICAN MADE IN THE U.S.A. and in Texas. If things continue the way they are, I will keep him on the Merrick brand of foods and treats permanently. I’m also VERY happy to know that PetCo. will be carrying all of your product lines. This is huge, in my opinion!!

Our little Rosie is doing great on the Merrick Grain Free Puppy Recipe. The vet is very happy with her health and weight. However, after 5 months of use, I am very frustrated with the size of the kibble. The kibbles are so small, they fall right out of her mouth when she eats. Rosie is a ‘grazer’, meaning she doesn’t eat 2 or 3 times a day, but rather all day long she nibbles at her food. I am constantly finding these tiny kibbles underfoot all over the house, stepping on them and crushing them into the carpet and floors. It is so aggravating that I am considering changing her over to a different brand! I would like to suggest to Merrick they consider making a larger kibble for larger puppies. We love the adult chicken/brown rice recipe for our older dogs and have no complaints at all about the formula.

Our black Lab has had problems with soft stools since we brought him home at 6 weeks old. My 7 month old German shorthair loves this food, however, I do not! The kibble is so small for a puppy his size that most of it ends up on the floor and in his water dish which makes a mess. I don’t think the small bits encourage chewing and it may not be cleaning teeth the way a larger kibble would. Please consider making a large breed formula!!

I did a lot of research on pup foods when we adopted Ella and Merrick was the brand I chose. I am so glad I did. Ella is happy and healthy and full of great energy. Metrics puppy rated 129 A++. The highest on the list I believe. The kibble is small and made for easy digestion. Her coat shines and for A wire coated GSD, that is impressive. Her stools are consistent and healthy. Her teeth are white with no build up and definitely no bad breath. We couple her kibble with a couple of spoonfuls of Merrick Puppy Plate canned food mixed in. She loves it. The canned food is awesome with no grain but healthy chunks of meat, carrots and peas. At her three month vet check, the vet gave her an excellent bill of health and speaks pretty highly of Merrick as well. Roxie loves it and it’s healthiest for her.

Lots of good reviews led me to the switch and my Eskimo/Pom mix puppy (5 months old) loves it. Her coat looks healthier and shinier, and her bad breath significantly improved. One thing that I noticed is that she is pooping a bit more than usual, probably due to a higher fiber content, but it might be that she is a frequent pooper. All in all, great product!

I had my golden doodle on this food and she is doing amazing on it. Her fur is soft and she doesn’t get stinky. I recently got a new poodle puppy and bought a bag of the food the breeder had him on because she said it does wonders for them. The adult dogs she had there were soft and healthly and gorgeous. While on that food Pickles (my poodle puppy) was very gassy and not very active and was always hungry. I decided to try and transition him to Merrick but he loved it so much that I could properly finish the transition period. It was only 2 days worth of transition because he would eat his food that was mixed then eat the rest of Buttercup’s (my goldendoodle) food. I know it’s important to transition between foods but it was preventing Buttercup from eating. Not being able to transition him has not fazed him at all! He is fully on Merrick with no stomach problems and no more gas! He’s even pooping less which is awesome! On the other food he pooped about 12 times a day! So happy with Merrick!!! We love our Merrick. We have issues with fish but this is a great recipe for our girl Nika(pure breed Siberian husky). She’s been on it since we switched from a raw diet(when it wasn’t agreeing with her) the kibbles a little small about the size of a cinnamon drop that you use on cookies.
