After reading about grain-free diets being linked to heart issues; I switched my female pitty from Nutro grain free limited ingredient lamb and sweet potato recipe to Nutro’s lamb and rice recipe. I was shocked to find out that the second ingredient in their recipe was “chicken meal” when it said “no chicken by product meal, corn, wheat, or soy” on the front. Like most pitty’s, my girl is allergic to chicken. About a month ago, I switched her to Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diets With-Grain Adult Dog Food – Lamb & Brown Rice. The ingredients are clear and there is no misleading packaging. She seems to be doing great on it but she dosnt like it as much as when I was feeding her Nutro’s “small bites”.

Wanted the larger 26# bag for my lab but you were out

I have two pit mixes that are prone to skin sensitivity and allergies. They get watery eyes, reddened feet, hives and dander from chicken and beef, and I’ve tried all kinds of salmon foods, or grain free, and other options over the years. On our vet’s recommendation, this lamb and rice formula has been working wonders. The dogs seem to enjoy it, and I haven’t noticed any digestive issues with the formula change. It is a little on the pricey side, but worth it for happy dogs with healthy skins and coats.

I bought this food a month ago and my dog is doing very well on this food. She has a chicken allergy and sensitive to many dog foods.

Charlie is very picky about his food. This is the third new bag of food I have bought in the last month. The other two I’ve had to put tinned food or water to make a gravy and hand fed him sometimes it would take an hour for him to eat and he is a lab! But he LOVES this food. He devours it in no time.

After a bladder infection and urine crystals the vet suggested switching to this food, and it worked perfectly! The antibiotics given by the vet did not get rid of the infection, but the food change did. Now I have a happy and healthy pup who is always eagerly awaiting her next meal.

This dog food used to be amazing. My dogs thrived on it. The balance of all of the ingredients, and the quality of the ingredients themselves were amazing. Now, it’s a whole new food that has caused major stomach issues with both of my dogs. Why fix something if it’s not broken!? I spoke to someone in customer service and she went through the list of new ingredients. They increased the lamb by 40%, which sounds good, but it’s not. They also changed the oil from Canola to Sunflower, which sounds good too, but won’t say where the oil is sourced from, if it’s good quality, or if there are any additives to the oil that could cause the stomach distress. I am just so beyond upset that this once great dog food has become awful and unhealthy for my dogs. Natural Balance just lost a very loyal customer today! Please return to the old recipe!

Used this food for almost a year. Excited to find a food our dog could eat. Then the last large bag I bought, he started a rash, itching and scratching ing. The store took it back since I had a receipt and the bags says 100% guaranteed. Unfortunately, back to malodor food again and our doggie is happy and free of allergies

There isn’t any chicken fat or chicken by products like in most foods. It makes my dogs fur so soft

Great food. My ACD loves it. I found some
Other foods gave him a bit of gas. Only thing, I wish it had resealable packaging.

We’ve fed this brand before and love that our dogs love this brand. We just stay away from Chicken as we’ve found our dog is allergic.

We reviewed the 2022 “Best Dog Foods” and this is one of the top 10. We decided to try it for out Golden Retriever who has some mild allergies and ear infections. We also added a prescription allergy medication for her, but decided to try something other than chicken plus other ingredients in another recommended food. After one week we are seeing improvement.

Every month I buy the large $60.00 bag for large breed because you didn’t have the
large bag again so I bought the small $40.00 bag for small dogs, Not Good for my
Golden, it goes right thru him, waste of money. Tomorrow I will shopping at other
      Stores

I purchased this product and I’m very pleased with the outcome. My dog Piper has a few allergies, the first one is any Chicken Product and second is fish oil. Piper has thrived on this product, she hasn’t had an allergic reaction to this product. Piper loves the taste and seems to be thriving on this food. The stool quality is also very good.

My dog has been on this kibble for the past few months. She has had 0 issues and has absolutely loved this food. I picked up a bag from my local petsupplycanada and she ended up sick the whole weekend. After lots of vet bills, it was determine that we were giving a bad bag of kibble or the lot # was off. Unfortunately since I put her kibble in an air tight container, I don’t have the bag anymore. I trusted that pet smart would give me safe food for my pup and was mistaken. Hoping if I order elsewhere she’ll be ok

When I learned that grain-free food is not good for dogs, I switched to this product because brown rice is a healthy grain. My English Springer Spaniel loves it.

Just switched to this food because one of my dogs has skin allergies and we’re trying to figure out if it’s food related. I have two beagles who eat this, no problem. But then beagles aren’t typically fussy eaters. I did the switch slowly with no gastric upset to either dog. It’s too soon to tell if this food makes a difference in the allergies because she is still on medication but I’m hoping to reduce that and see if there is a positive change.

My dog eats when he is hungry (free feed) so by the end of the day he has eaten his bowl of food. He hasn’t discussed whether he likes it or not but he’s not very picky. I have chosen this food because my dog’s breeder recommended it and my dog is healthy.

I eased my dogs into this over the period of almost a month because it changed from first ingredient lamb meal to first ingredient lamb, then brown rice, then lamb meal. They have had no problem with the change. But, this is important, the new formula has increased the Kcals by 15 kcals per cup. Doesn’t sound like much, but both my dogs started putting on weight before I found that out and it’s been difficult during this hot pandemic summer to get it off of them. We can’t walk them as much. So while I’m still happy with the food, it needs to be introduced slowly, as with all new foods and remember there are more kcals per cup.

I wanted to try different dog food for my itchy dog. Chose this as the only option with JUST the 2 ingredients mentioned. So many have multiple forms of protein and you’ve no way to know what’s troubling your dog. This seems to have reduced the itches.
