Few weeks later I wanted something better, so I switched to blue buffalo for about two months, until my puppy started loosing interest in blue buffalo and started having loose stools. I have 2 Bichon pups that have been on NutroUltra Puppy Chow since I brought them home at 8wks. They like it and there haven’t been any tummy issues. BUT I bought a bag a few days ago (23.95 for 4lb bag ) and they have downsized to 3.5lb bag for the same $24 price!! Thankfully the pups will be 1 next month. I did a lot of research before selecting the food that my puppy would be eating. The Puppy ultra offers a high source of protein, calcium and the calories that a puppy needs for growing. They also do not use any meat by products or corn which are both commonly used in pet food. I am also very happy that the food is balanced with lots of veggies, fruit and whole grains. I got my puppy from a shelter where she was eating the lowest grade of food, I thought that we might have problems when changing her food however that was not the case. She adjusted to the food very well. We have followed the feeding chart and she is growing and in good health. Our vet is very impressed at how far she has come since we have adopted her. When I was shopping for puppy food price was not a main concern, but I wast looking for the most expensive or the cheapest brand. Surprisingly Nutro Ultra was the more affordable than the other brands i had considered and had better ingredients. Occasional the grocery store i will shop at gives me a coupon or puts the food on sale.

Not only is it reasonably priced but my puppy loves it, i don’t have to mix it with anything in order for him to eat it. It also has really helped define his muscles. Thanks nutro ultra!

We used this for our yorkie and retriever when they were puppies. The kibble sizes were perfect for both dogs. It did make my retrievers stomach upset though. The yorkie was able to eat and digest this food really well, though. We did eventually switch to a different brand for the retrievers digestive issues.

I had been feeding our 7 month old pitsky mix Iams puppy food, as recommended by mother who is a veterinarian. Our pup was very finicky about eating and had to be persuaded to eat her food at meal time. It was very frustrating. I finally decided to switch both our pup and our 2 year old tabby cat to Nutro. This food didnt sit weol at all with my puppy. After a couple of days of eating this food my puppy started spitting a white foam and by the 3rd night she did not digest her food and ended up throwing it all up. She was very shaky and had glossy eyes. Her neck was streched out up, could not balance herself and kept falling. The next day she was very weak and had no appetite at all. I cooked her fresh food, which she loves and was uninterested. I’ve been cooking for her ever since and she has not thrown up again or showed any other digestive issues.

Regardless my dog refused to eat it after 3 meals. She’s picky but she’s never that picky that she will stop liking a food after having it only 3 times. Maybe if they change a few of the ingredients she might have liked it more.It is a good size bag for the price, so if your looking to feed you pets a decent food for a good price I would recommend this but if you can splurge a little more than I would recommend getting another brand.

I just bought a new bag of Nutro ultra puppy food. The kibble looks different. Our 11 month old puppy absolutely absolutely refuses to eat it now. He has been on this food for most of his life. We thought he was sick..he never refuses to eat anything! Not clear on packaging that formula was changed. I am so disappointed, now am going to have to transition to a new food which will probably cause tummy problems.

Nutro Ultra ChickenLamb/Salmon has chicken as the 1st ingredient, no byproducts, whole grains, high protein, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. The kibble is easy for a new 3.3# puppy to handle with low volume, firm stools. I wanted to give him a great start with me. In the past, I fed a Max/Nutro product to a Golden Retriever of the red variety, his coat improved on it. So I returned to the top of the dry Nutro puppy line. I’m very pleased after a week and a half. It is exactly what I was looking for!

I was delighted that the first ingredient in this puppy food is real chicken. I like the fact that this particular brand and type of dog food contains protein from chicken , lamb and salmon. This variety would keep my puppy happy and interested in this dry puppy food. I wrote this review after giving my puppy this food for one whole week and noticed that he would eat all of his food. I would first hydrate the food with water for a few minutes. I was also happy that Nutro states that their superfood medley in this puppy food contains flaxseed, sunflower oil, vine grown tomatoes, orchard picked apples, blueberries, carrots, coconuts, chia seeds, pumpkin, kale and spinach. I was quite surprised that such healthy ingredients were found in this dog/puppy food and agree with Nutro when they state this is “The Superfood Plate”!. I also like the fact that Nutro states they only use non-GMO ingredients. I am happy that my puppy loves this food and that I can provide a nutritious option to my puppy! I high recommend Nutro’s Ultra High Protein puppy food!

I have two Huskies. One has a very sensitive stomache (like many Huskies do!) and the other has picky taste buds. We tried several different foods for both including some extremely high dollar stuff for our girl with tummy issues. I bought this when the store was out of the other and it was a miracle food for both! Our picky eater now loves dinner time and no more digestive issues with our little girl. I wholeheartly recommend this food. I have also worked with Nutro on a professional level and know for a fact that they take pet safety seriously. I picked up a “Chug” out of sympathy for the puppy. She (Tink) wouldn’t eat, severely dehydrated, and dying. Took her to the vet, and she was really struggling. We wormed her and started her on antibiotics and I put her on this food for all the health benefits, knowing she needed all she could get. Started on the soft food and syringe fluids and a lot of coaxing and gradually got to the hard kibble. She LOVES IT! I have 2 franchise that had really bad gas issues with proplan puppy and royal canine so I was actually told by my dog trainer that she fed her bulldogs nutro and all the gas issues stopped with her dogs. I found that was exactly true and the exact thing they needed to stop the excessive gas they had with the other brands. Would definitely recommend for any bully breeds who have the gassy issues and are not being fed table or other foods. Great choice.
