My dog broke it in 1 minute. The doors come off and you can’t put them back on.
Taking it back tomorrow.
CBear2477 (verified owner) –
First, my 9 month poodle does not destroy toys, (well she has been known to chew soft toys, but not very often) that said, I have not had a problem with this item. I feel it is well made and I couldn’t pull off the doors, however if your dog it a destructo-dog, which destroys anything, don’t expect it to last (common sense). I put treats in this and put it out when we are going out for several hours. Initially, of course, I watched to see how she would do with it and it took her a few tries to figure it out. Our poodle is incredibly smart so she enjoys this puzzle while we are out and it is empty when we return, so I know she had a good time. These are “enrichment” tools for your dog, not something to be left out all day since it will lose its novelty. I would like to see a more challenging puzzle come out though. This is more of a busy toy.
superdupercooper (verified owner) –
I bought this as the clerk recommended it as one of the best treat hiding toys they sell. My hound dog snapped every tile out in minutes, not durable waste of money for me anyway.
Pompeii loves puzzles (verified owner) –
Pompeii never likes to eat food out of her bowl so I have begun adding interactive dispensers to stimulate her while dishing out food and treats. I a soft fluffy treat dispenser (MEGA PLUSH TONGUE MONSTER) that she LOVED (bad idea) she ate all the treats and then killed the monster…I mean TOTALLY Annihilated it! Them I bought the KONG SPIN IT, dispenser but she didn’t like it. I exchanged that toy for this one and it’s a winner! I can walk away from it with out her following, it keep her busy and she doesn’t get frustrated. When I first filled it, she tried bitting the tops to try to get them off, but with some correction and demonstration SHE GOT! I’m likely going to add the MAD SCIENTIST to her repertoire and where done.
Dissatisfied and stunned (verified owner) –
Our puppies love to use their nose to find the kibble hidden inside
LindawithMiya (verified owner) –
My dog is enjoying this. She hasn’t got it fully figured out yet so it’s a good mental exercise for her.
J Meier (verified owner) –
Bought this for my Golden Retriever puppy. In less than five minutes he figured out you can take the entire thing apart and was eating all the treats in no time. Definitely not much stimulation.
SouthernWhippet (verified owner) –
My whippet works most puzzles in couple minutes, but this one keeps her working for 8-10 minutes, which is a win in my book. She’s highly food motivated, so she enthusiastically goes after the treats using both a digging/scratching motion with her paws and sliding things around with her nose. However, I definitely recommend using this toy under supervision, as I can easily imagine a more aggressive/excited dog biting or chewing the sliding tiles.
Arthurs Mom (verified owner) –
We had purchased a Level 2 puzzle which he breezed right through so we went to a Level 3. Definitely more challenging, which requires him to step away and get a brain break. He still uses his paws more than his nose to move the panels, which makes it more of a challenge for him.
Nickname1234567890 (verified owner) –
My lab never was able to slide the squares. They don’t slide very well. She finally decided to just take it apart to get to her treats. Zero. I don’t recommend.
Badgerjim (verified owner) –
My wife picked this up for our Border Collie. He loves it! Just challenging enough to keep him interested. Well made!
Kmelam2 (verified owner) –
I love this puzzle, and my pup does too! It keeps him busy. There are 24 spots for treats, but I put them in about half so he has to work for them. So glad I bought this!
TraceyO (verified owner) –
We purchased this for our super smart cat. The kittie puzzler lasted literally 5 minutes before he got all of the treats out, and we purchased this because it would slow him down. It was great for a minute until he was trying to paw out the treat from the cup and it disappeared into the toy. There is a gap in the cup well just about at the rim where the toy is assembled. We were using Temptation treats which are square and kind of shaped like a mini pillow. They went right into the gap. Now, for a dog who has bigger treats, this would be awesome. It is sturdy and one of the better ideas of treat puzzles. We returned ours – and were sad about it, but it is what it is.
Cspoti (verified owner) –
The squares do not move easily, my dog injured himself somehow playing with it. Definitely returning.
Linjea (verified owner) –
I just use some of her allotment of her dog food and put it in her puzzle as she doesn’t need any more treats. Didn’t take her long to use her nose and put the squares where she needs to, to get to her food. She has it gone is less than 5 minutes. But then she is a Doberman and they are smart. Have told other friends with dogs about this and they have or are purchasing this product.
Minn (verified owner) –
We bought this for our 8 month old coonhound to keep her occupied and to help her use her nose more in the house (and to keep her from bugging us when we are trying to do things like make dinner). She figured it out rather quickly – she likes to frantically dig at the tiles to get at the treats (definitely not calm and patient like the dog on the front of the packaging is demonstrating). The tiles on the puzzle toy can get loud, so make sure you’re not on the phone or trying to have a conversation with someone haha. We do not leave her unattended with this as the tiles could pop out.
Freckles7 (verified owner) –
I took this back to the store on day 2. The ’tiles’ get stuck and do not slide easily. The tray below it where the treats are housed falls out easily. My dog found that out quickly and just moved it to get all the treats. Really dumb
Major 13 (verified owner) –
Within the first 50 seconds, my almost 13 year-old Frenchie had taken off puzzle pieces. He first slid one with his face to begin with, then he wanted to get through faster and proceeded to bite off the pieces. He also kept biting the white edge, thinking it was supposed to come off. I kept showing him how to slide the pieces, and though he could do that with his paws and face, he preferred to bite at the pieces and take them off over sliding them around the board. I am afraid this toy will damage his teeth.
LabMom5000 (verified owner) –
Six month old puppy had the tiles off and chewing on them within 15 minutes. It became a choking hazard for her and I had to toss the toy. Big waste of money.
grissngillsmom (verified owner) –
It has been a challendge for him. We needed a higher level to slow him down with his puzzles.
dnewlin (verified owner) –
Within minutes the dogs figured out they could just pop the sliding doors off and get right to the treats. Disappointing.
Teddys people (verified owner) –
This is our 2nd puzzle for our 5 month puppy! He has this one figured out in less than 24 hrs. It is great mental stimulation and great entertainment for both your pup and humans. This won’t be our last puzzle. I just wish there were more advanced puzzles to purchase.
cutielovsu (verified owner) –
Got this for my 2 year old labradoodle. She took one look at it and smelled the treats then decided it was to hard for her and hasn’t touched it. Had a hard time finding treats small enough to put in the holes as well instead of breaking up regular treats and making a mess.
TigerTheLongNose (verified owner) –
my dog trying this toy first time and absolutely loved it, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvcg6qHLStg
now he is a champion at it, and find all the treats in a minute
Spika (verified owner) –
We purchased this a few weeks ago , too many pieces to move. Not a fan.
Remi 13 (verified owner) –
6 month old Bernedoodle loves the challenge of finding the hidden treats.
Deanna11 (verified owner) –
He’s had it since a pup a as me gets excited every time I take it out.
Scruffie (verified owner) –
We have two small mixed breed pups and had bought one at this level and one interactive toy at a lower level. This one is the one they fought over So now we have two. Haven’t had the issues of them pulling off the sliders. They are both extreme chewers and destroy toys frequently, but these are holding up. We also monitor them when using this toy and it is picked up when they have found all the treats.
239tss (verified owner) –
I bought this a few weeks ago and have used it numerous times with my dog. She is learning from it and gets faster at finding the treats each time.
CMort (verified owner) –
Well…it kept her occupied. Opened the first one but lost patience. 80lb German Shepherd.

10/10
Highly recommend.
I have a 65 lb 7 month old puppy that tried to rip it apart instead of sliding the pieces and it did not get damaged at all. Very durable. Would recommend to anyone with large dogs that have more braun than brains.
SusanMZ (verified owner) –
I bought this a month ago. It took my dog about 10 minutes to figure out that he could pop the tiles off with his teeth. I was able to snap them back in place, and then watched him, and gave him corrections so that he didn’t do that anymore. Now he loves it, and is getting very good at it. It has lasted a month, which is a long time for a toy at my house. In fact, both dogs are good at it, but now they’re starting to fight over it, so I’m buying a second one tomorrow. Always watch your dogs to keep them from destroying it. My dogs are 46 and 67 pounds.
Agnes (verified owner) –
My dog got the blue blocks out of it and chewed them to bits. It last 2 days
Maverick 0603 (verified owner) –
This lasted for less than 2 minutes. It was mentally stimulating, though.
DavidLB (verified owner) –
Very entertaining for the dog. Bit noisy and big dogs can take it apart. Lots of fun for the dog
Debbie in WI (verified owner) –
He figured this out in 3 tries and now goes through the whole thing in about 3 minutes. But it keeps him busy for a little bit and then he’s ready to relax for a bit. The problems of having a very smart dog.
Fluffy4545 (verified owner) –
This puzzle keeps your dog occupied and learning for up to an hour.
Old bird (verified owner) –
Our son had one for his dog and we thought it might slow down our fast eater. It took her two days to learn how to use it.
BERNADETTE B (verified owner) –
My 10.5 month German Shepherd (almost 100lbs) loved this toy when I gave it to him, but it was little hard for him to get the treats out of the hole, will have to put larger treats in. He was able to pop one square out and now I have to look how to pop it back in. In the end while I was taking it away, he got all the treats, I noticed some blood, so he probably cut his lip or tongue somewhere trying to get the treats out. So my advice for larger breeds, put larger treats so that they can easily get them out.
Kimgtk (verified owner) –
My chihuahua is 14 and loves this puzzle. He finds it challenging and works on it awhile, then rests and goes back to it. Good for his mental stimulation.
coolbeanz (verified owner) –
I bought this a few weeks ago, it definitely keeps my dog entertained. She got frustrated and pulled most of the sliders off, but it was super easy to reassemble! Once she got the hang of it, she started using her nose to push the pieces around and it keeps her busy at meal times for at least a couple minutes longer than her regular slow feeder!
Mizz (verified owner) –
For context, we have a 12 week-old mini aussiedoodle. She LOVED her Kong so we looked into more puzzle type toys to keep her entertained while we telework.
Bethb98 (verified owner) –
Not only does this slide all over the floor and make a horrendous noise in doing so, my 9 mo old bloodhound (not a toy destroyer) destroyed this after 4 uses! The sliding pieces came off which then she chewed! It was an absolute waste of money! I’m extremely disappointed in this!
Alex9336 (verified owner) –
My 5 and 10 pound Maltipoos are super smart and work through a lot of puzzles but this one definitely took them a while to figure out which is great. They were getting treats the entire time and it kept them invested and busy. Each time I put it down they’re definitely getting better at it and it shows but it’s still takes them a while… So wonderful!
On a side note though I still need to pick it up right when they finish the last slot, or else they keep going at it thinking that there is more in the slots and will get more aggressive with it and frustrated, haha.
Teslapowered (verified owner) –
My husky pulled a piece off in less than 30 minutes. The other pieces fall off easily after that. It kept him busy for a while though. He tried to gnaw his way through it at first. Eventually got the hang of it and used his paws.
Sackie27 (verified owner) –
My dog figured it out and made short work of it. Expectations vs reality – but for $30 it was fine.
DianaMB (verified owner) –
Great mind game to keep dogs busy while using their nose.& mind.
ldpup (verified owner) –
I bought this for my 9 month old golden retriever pup. She quickly got the hang of it, but it still is a ‘kpuzzle’ and interesting for her. She is strong and therefore can knock it about, taking off the blue doors covering the treat (found one in her bed!!). So under supervision, meaning holding it from sliding (or on a carpet/mat) worked better for her. Slide out tray makes for adding treats a breeze. Well-designed and interesting for pet.
Vic61 (verified owner) –
Love this puzzle challenging for our dog. He is slowly learning how to use it.
jones (verified owner) –
I have a collie/shepard/husky mix, puzzles and any mind stimulation helps keep her occupied and not so chaotic.
Got this toy to help stimulate her mind and not get too bored.
It took her a little bit to figure out but she eventually got the hang of it. It is definitely a search game and understanding that the tiles move.
I would not leave this unattended as the pieces can pop out if they use their teeth to tug. It can be put back in, but it’s a little bit of a hassel, I’ve found getting it in by the corner is easiest as you can put one notch in and then move another piece up slightly to get the notch of that one to go in.
While this is a tile game, it does get a bit loud, so if you need to concentrate or work, you do not want to have it right next to you.
German Shepherd mom (verified owner) –
It took less than 20min for my German Shepard to Destroy it
TR Milo (verified owner) –
I have high energy border collie puppy 3 months old and he just pulled out cube lid instead of sliding and tried to run away w it .
Happy auntie (verified owner) –
My 30 pound pincher is very smart and very active. I bought this toy about a month ago and it has been well worth the cost. When I first added treats, it took the dog about two days to figure out how to get to all the treats. I had to monitor the dog and whenever she started biting the tiles with her teeth, I corrected her and then she figured out how to slide them with her nose. I don’t leave it out all the time, but rather I give it to her once, or twice a week . Now she is able to discover all the treats in less than an hour. The toy remains intact and in good shape.
GSDMum (verified owner) –
Bought this item for 5 month GSD. She solved it in less than 5 minutes. This is level 3. Too smart for her own good 🙂 Need to find level 4 challenges. Good product. Definitely a supervised activity!
Surfer (verified owner) –
My dog loves it. It keeps him occupied for hours. He do get frustrated at times, ,than I would help him a bit.
Mont0706 (verified owner) –
My pup enjoys this puzzle! I use it for mental enrichment when I feed him his meals. He was able to grasp the concept very quickly and gets excited at the sight of the toy.
AJPPINES (verified owner) –
Fun to watch the dog goes through the puzzle boxes
London2302 (verified owner) –
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and my dog loves it. I can take out the squares to make the game easier or put them back to make it harder. This is the first puzzle he doesn’t finish in two minutes.
Rounder in Phx (verified owner) –
We have a couple other puzzles for our dog, but this one is the most challenging. Rounder plays the game but some times gets frustrated. Finding the rewards is still hit-or-miss.
smily (verified owner) –
My dog( GoldenDoodle) did pulling the puzzle out instead of sliding it.
So, I had to keep to putting a puzzle back… And it’s not easy to put it back (3-4pieces) in..
It’s not worked for my dog. Returned.
EskosWorld (verified owner) –
I loaded the tray 1/4 way with treats when he was out as a surprise. He barely played with the puzzle before he got bored and pulled out the refill tray. There should be some sort of lock for the tray.
ACD Mom (verified owner) –
This board is very flimsy compared to other activity boards I’ve gotten for my dog. She’s thankfully not a chewer, but still managed to pop out one of the sliders (I eventually got it back in). If your dog chews at all, this is not the activity board for you. Moving the sliders around isn’t easy on this already-difficult puzzle, either. And while it’s nice to have the little drawer to put the treats in, it’s really hard to get it back in and seated right.
Taydiggy (verified owner) –
I bought this from a suggestion from the store manager and couldn’t be happier. I fill it up with food and treats and the puppies go crazy with excitement trying to get the tiles to slide. Only downside is sometimes the tiles can get stuck on other ones but that happens rarely.
Sassy pants (verified owner) –
Great toy except my dog chewed the bottom of the toy after 1 day. I have 2 big dogs and a puppy and they all love it. Wished it was built stronger
Alli301 (verified owner) –
Bought it for our dog a few weeks ago and it definitely stumps him from time to time and keeps him entertained. We worked up from the normal snuffle mat and this puzzle is putting him to the test!
LDOD (verified owner) –
It took a little while but our Oliver figured this out. He gets very excited when we bring it out. The only bad thing is he figured out how to pull the tiles out.
Nerissa (verified owner) –
The Nina Ottoson puzzle toys are a favorite in our home. This one is not on par with other level 3 puzzles. It’s closer to a level 2 and was too easy for my dog though he still enjoys it. Our cat also enjoys this puzzle and it should be a good for our future puppy.
Doodle12b (verified owner) –
We have a German Shepherd and a Doodle both puppies under 1 year. Both absolutely LOVE this puzzle. We try to do things separately with the pups to avoid separation anxiety so, we will give it to them one at a time, usually when the other is out of the house somewhere, so as to help with the anxiety and boredom of being left behind. It doesn’t take long for them to go through and get all the treats but it’s great for brain stimulation. Highly recommend.
liv4truth (verified owner) –
This is my 4th puzzle I bought for my toy poodle that is 4 months old. This puzzle is like a “Rubik Cube” and definitely a challenge for most dogs. However, my poodle figured it out the first time within 5 minutes. After that within 3-4 minutes. Not challenging enough for her, but I am sure it will be for other pups.
Trent91 (verified owner) –
My dog just figured out how to pull the sliders out in the first 5 seconds.
RupertsMom (verified owner) –
My dog is smart, he figures out puzzles super quickly. I thought this one would stump him, but all he did was break the pieces off. Another one bites the dust.
Teddysmom (verified owner) –
The product does make my puppy work and think, for less than 5 minutes. Teddy is 5 months old and needed a challenge. This didn’t provide it. He figured out that he could randomly move the pieces with his nose an paws in the first 5 minutes and when he is moving the pieces, he is a bit frantic and it becomes very loud.
Dodger1111 (verified owner) –
Got for my 5 month old cocker spaniel and he emptied it in 2 minutes. Not enough of a challenge I think
CAPO (verified owner) –
I bought this game for my puppy CAPO to exercise his mind. It is fun, it keeps him busy and in turn, there is a tasty reward when he solves the puzzle.
Katie and Jack (verified owner) –
If your dog hasn’t played these types of games it could be too difficult. Definitely well made. Got it on sale so it was a great value.
Sharkbite88 (verified owner) –
My dog is 13, not a toy player but mentally could use some stimulation. This toy is perfect! It took him approximately 60 seconds to figure out how to slide the pieces but much longer(in a non frustrating fun way) to move them to his favorite treats. I filled each cavity up with a treat & he eagerly searched for his favorites! My dog did level 3 for a challenge & is patient enough for it.
Ivysmom2012 (verified owner) –
My border collie loves this game! It took her a while to figure it out but now she’s got the hang of it. Smart girl has even tried opening the drawer to get all of the goodies!
Closecall (verified owner) –
This puzzle is fun. My dogs enjoyed trying it out. I let each try it one at a time. The plastic used is light but sharp and the puzzle moves around as the dog paws at it. It moved over my dog’s toes on one paw and my other dog got excited and stepped on the puzzle. The plastic edge hurt my girl’s toes and left her limping. After the fuss my girls wouldn’t try it again. I returned it and got my money back.
Got lucky (verified owner) –
I have 2 – 6 month old puppies and they figured out how to pull the sliders out and eat the treats. After the treats were done they proceeded to eat the sliders they pulled out.
Trish12 (verified owner) –
He is still learning this puzzle. Finally one challenging enough for him.
Mspelly (verified owner) –
This is my favourite puzzle toy so far! It is great for mentally exercising my dog and is also entertaining to watch
