DESCRIPTION
Nourish your dog’s mind and help him think more like he did when he was younger with Purina Pro Plan BRIGHT MIND Adult 7+ Chicken & Rice Formula dry dog food. Around age 7, a dog’s brain begins to change how it metabolizes glucose, which can affect learning or awareness. Our proprietary research shows that enhanced botanical oils provide an additional fuel source for the brain in dogs ages 7 and older, and these oils nourish your dog’s brain, helping him think more like he did when he was younger. Alertness and mental sharpness are promoted in dogs over the age of 7 who eat this food daily. This dry dog food includes chicken as the first ingredient, which provides your dog with a high-quality source of protein. Glucosamine and EPA, an omega-3 fatty acid, support your dog’s joint health and mobility, while omega-6 fatty acids and vitamin A promote healthy skin and a beautiful coat. You can feel good about feeding him a formula designed to deliver top-tier, highly specialized nutrition

We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allowyour dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Making the Switch to Pro Plan Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you’re feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Contains a source of live (viable) naturally occurring microorganisms. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet’s health, see your veterinarian regularly. We have had our 9 year old rescue mixed breed on Putin’s Pro Plan Bright Minds for about 18 months. She has more energy, a beautiful shiny coat, and her eyesight has even seemed to be sharper! She loves to dive in the pool and recover toys at the bottom of the pool, but we noticed her ability to see the object was taking longer. Since switching her to Bright Minds, she seems to have sharper vision again. Love that it is so easy on her digestive tract, also.
Devonair (verified owner) –
I have been feeding Purina ProPlan since 1982. My dogs all have thrived on it.
Luckyluca (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 12-year-old golden loves it
I would like some coupons in the mail for the dry dog food though it is kind of expensive or by email
MichelleE (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We found out our oldest dog is in the early stages of dementia and the vet recommended using this food to help with keeping her brain functioning as much as possible. So far, she’s enjoying it. We just started, so time will tell.

I have had my 15 year old lab on bright mind for 1.5 years and have seen a huge increase in engagement, overall happiness and so much more physical activity. He also loves the taste as we also put the bright mind soft food in the tubs on top of his dry food as an extra treat. Could not be happier with the results
GraceC (verified owner) –
I started my 11 yr old Pembroke on this when she was 8. I have been so pleased. All my dogs .. currently showing and retired plus the cats eat Pro Plan.
lukaii (verified owner) –
Its amazing myy dogs love it, also has not hurt my dogs stomach at which is actually amazing since most dog foods end up hurting their tummies
Shiba Mom (verified owner) –
I bought this for my 15 yr old Shiba Inu who was on an expensive grain free food. She spent most of her days sleeping and rarely played. She was also having a lot of senior moments, as in forgetting where she was and what she was doing as well as not recognizing us sometimes. I was very skeptical of this food, but decided to give it a chance. The change in her was almost immediate once the switch was complete ! She is more active and alert now than in the past 2 years, and has way less senior moments. I can’t thank you enough for the quality of life she has now !
doc19 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My old guys are doing exceptionally well on the Bright minds formula. Their energy levels and cognitive skills are definitely enhanced by this formula.
Saucy (verified owner) –
I admit I was skeptical about the Bright Minds claims, but decided to spoil my 11 yr old golden just a bit more in his golden years. I use half dry and half wet Bright Minds Sr twice a day. I swear this dog has never looked or felt better. He is more alert and actually chases squirrels again. My brother is a vet and is as surprised as I am. Worth every penny.
Snooze (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My sister, who worked for Purina, suggested this food for my dog since she was getting up there in years. It really helped her.
TootieAuie (verified owner) –
My dog is a 16 yr old lab mix. I’m always looking for what’s best to feed her at this age. The nuggets didn’t seem to hard for her teeth like other brands do. I didn’t have to soften this food like I do other brands.
Cocker Spaniel Dan (verified owner) –
We have 4 dogs 2 of which are 12+ with vision problems and starting to get behavioral issues and lack of spark in their life. We heard good things about Bright Mind on social media and thought why not give it a try. With the first bag almost gone after 3 weeks we have seen a remarkable transformation in the 2 dogs we were worried about. Our oldest we were worried that we were going to have to put down. Now he is engaged, walks normally and has a spark in his face that he hasn’t had for over a year. The other dog no longer has growling episodes like she used to. Since I have seen good results in both of them and the only thing that changed was this food I would say their improvement is because of this food. They also like to eat it and devour it at each feeding. I am impressed and so happy to have my dogs back!
Balls (verified owner) –
All my dogs (6) of them all were fed proplan from 8 weeks old and my Brittany Spaniel is 14 years old and still eats proplan bright mind.
dkd97 (verified owner) –
I was very skeptical trying this food but I had heard great things. Although we didn’t see any drastic changes our older boy seems to want to play and be more active.
lilyfrog67 (verified owner) –
I have been feeding my nine-year-old cocker spaniel Bright Minds for seniors for the past year and have seen a big difference in her energy and attentiveness. But just last week I bought a bag of Bright Mind in the new packaging and now my dog has had horrible, watery diarrhea for 4 days. She’s been tested for worms and tested for giardia and both negative. At this point she is eating white rice with a little chicken broth. I now have a 16 pound bag of food that I cannot feed her anymore. I did notice when I opened the bag of food it smelled horrible of rotten fish. Will most likely be switching to another brand which is a shame as I really like this brand with the MCT oil. I have ordered Purina Fortiflora to hopefully help with diarrhea.

My dogs are getting old. My dachshund is 13 and my poodle is almost 11. They are healthy with no health issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Pug is 18 years old and has started to exhibit dementia along with being one eyed and nearly blind and deaf.. I was almost ready to put him down, but the Vet suggested trying Bright Mind.. He is 50-60% better.. Not walking so much in circles anymore, and can still go on walks with me.. He still has some kick left in him thanks to Bright Mind.. I’m really really impressed with the difference it has made.. He is still a happy smiling Pug.

I transitioned my 9 year old mixed breed dog to this, off of a”boutique” food, and she is doing really well. One of the first things I noticed was that her houndy odor was gone. Her coat was always shiny and healthy looking, but it would get an oily feel about a week after bathing, and now it’s soft and conditioned feeling but not oily. This is without having had a bath, just the food change. Her activity level has always been good but I notice a greater willingness to play and get frisky with the 2 younger dogs.
Bri (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog really loves this food and does really well on it. He is 13 and has been primarily on purina foods, and has always done best on them.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
We adopted an older dog who sadly wasn’t in the greatest health due prior neglect. The first thing we did was to give him a high quality food. He loves ProPlan Bright Mind and we can see a noticeable difference already in his energy level!
Cherie M (verified owner) –
My vet recommended Pro Plan Bright Minds 7+ for my 11 yrs old Miniature American Eskimo who has epilepsy and I was feeding her Purina One Senior and she was still having seizures about every 6 wks and she is maxed out and my vet recommend to try Bright Minds because of the MCT oils and EPA and DHA oils the Purina One didn't have the EPA or the DHA and Spice has been eating Bright Minds 7+ Chicken and Rice for about 3wks and the fur she was losing is starting to grow back she is starting to look more like the picture on the bag and so far no seizures Thank You Purina for great food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im a proplan customer for aprox. 20 years and bought bright mind to give a try and because it was less than half the price. After a week of feeding him this food my 15 year old Pekingese started acting very perky. im very happy to see him much better, i only wish for the price to br less expensive.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
My two oldest corgis adore this ProPlan Bright Mind! I always say “Whoever has the bigger brain is in charge!” and I know I lose to them quite often every day! Wish you had a human formula to keep me “bright’! Thanks so much for this terrific product!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This diet was recommended for our senior boxer after she was diagnosed with seizures. Along with prescribed medication, this diet has become a staple in our pets routine to com ate her seizures. She loves it.
Mad Max (verified owner) –
I have had both of my senior dogs on Bright Minds for over a year now and they love it. When we first started we noticed in about 2 weeks they had more energy and were playing with their toys more. My guys are 14 and 11 and will be on this food till they cross the rainbow bridge.
FreePalestine (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Vet recommended this food when she diagnosed my senior with dementia. Along with medication and puzzles, this food helped give me my dog back. Within two weeks of starting the food, his fur turned softer than my puppy’s fur. That’s not why I put him on the food, but the rapid and noticeable change in his coat tells me that the nutrient profile in this food is significantly different from the senior food I was feeding him before.
Bearded 1 (verified owner) –
This is a great product that really works. After a month we’ve seen huge differences. I lost 15 yr old this year who still had good minds. Wish it was still available in large breed
RavensDad (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this food after seeing some commercials about it. I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical at first, but the results are absolutely amazing. I give this food to two of my dogs and I noticed a more alert and liveliness in their demeanor within a week. They are more focused, alert, and most importantly, more sociable. I definitely recommend this product
Dogmom118 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 2 senior dogs 12 and 13. They have been laying around not playing much. I started them on bright minds 7+ and after 3 weeks the dogs have started playing again. They are much brighter and more interactive with the family. Thanks Purina keep up the good work.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My dog loves this food! She is 9 and has been on proplan her whole life, but we switched to 7+ a few months ago and havent looked back! Shes happy, healthy, and energetic! The food is healthy, clearly tastes good and is at the perfect price point!
slamoure (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My soul dog is a three-legged retriever who recently turned 12 and will eat literally anything in sight. It’s hard to keep him at his optimal weight, especially as his activity level slows down. I love this product for him because I can still feed him enough that he doesn’t feel like he’s not getting enough in his bowl.
Amsc (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently switched my dogs food and they all love it. I’ve tried a few brands in the past but I’m happy with what my pets are getting now.

We’ve been feeding our two cocker spaniels pro plan products since they were puppies. We decided to try Bright Mind when we first first saw the commercials. Our now thirteen year old seniors love this product. Just this week the vet tech told me they found it sometimes helped dogs with seizures. Our oldest hasn’t had a seizure in 5 years!
Stacey1 (verified owner) –
I decided to try this product when my 15 year old border collie mix began showing signs of cognitive dysfunction that was progressing quickly. She was also shedding horrendously and constantly. After starting the product it took some time to see a difference, but it was apparent. She was interacting more and responding better. Her coat has stabilized and I no longer have to vacuum daily! I have started my 10 year old dog on it as well to help ward off these senior changes and she is doing great on it as well.
Foxy (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 13 year old Australian Shepherd mix has been on this for 2 years. She loves the food and when we started it, it did help perk her up.
JedisMom (verified owner) –
My senior dog loves this product, and I can tell a difference in his coat. We love it.
Clgfar (verified owner) –
My snowball (looks like the dog on the bag) is 18 yrs old. I got the food she loved it! But unfortunately her teeth have gotten bad again. Added a little water she finished her bag.
philthemutt (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I switched my dog from Hills mobility to this product. So far he is doing great, there is still a lot of nutrients that help the joints in this food but also helping their mind. I have noticed his brain isn’t as slow being 15 since putting him on this food. Great product!
Tricky Ricki (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Bright Minds has kept my 10.5 year old dog healthy and active. She is still running in Field Trials and Field Tests.
Cojo (verified owner) –
I was somewhat skeptical if this food would make a difference or not but thought I would give it a try. Our 11 yr old lab has been less engaged lately and has had lower energy. This food has really helped changed that. She gets up to greet us consistently now and also romps and plays outside. She looks shiny and healthy and doesn’t have flakes which she always gets in the winter. She eats 2 cups a day and stays at a healthy weight. Her stools are small and firm which is great. Very happy with this food!
Loos (verified owner) –
Bright mind only comes in chicken, so I mix with other Pro Plan Savor flavors
Anonymous (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a senior catahoula with joint issues. Bright mind has helped his mobility.
BillyMom (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I had switched Billy sooner to senior food. On this food he became more agile & alert. The wet version of this food is great to mix in too. It’s hard to say if this prevented senility because I started him on this before that was an issue. But, he did become more alert and dare I say, playful? He’s a 14 yr old rat terrorist.
Millie D (verified owner) –
I started my 15 year dog on this about 3 or 4 years ago after watching the Purina dong competitions. We saw the difference almost immediately. We were truly amazed. Now at 15 she sleeps a lot, but still has so much energy! We started with a new vet last year and he was very surprised to find out how old she was. Plus she is a picky eater….not only does she get this for her meals, she gets small amounts for her treats!
Nudges Mom (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Full Disclosure – my dog is a lab mix. She loves to eat anything and also her food. She has only ever eaten Pro Plan and after many years on Pro Plan Adult Large Breed she has easily switched over to Bright Mind chicken and rice.
mslovepup (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I could see my older dog slowing down so I wanted to try the Bright Mind. Within a week I could sew a difference. He was more alert and perky. Back to his frisky self outside, and interested in window watching inside again. Definitely worth a try!

Penney (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a senior dog that was starting off into space, acting lost. After a few bags she’s more alert. I also have a dog with some neurological issues that loves this food when he wouldn’t eat anything else. Bonus that the vet approves
caroll (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best dog food ever. A little more jump and sparkle in the eye.

So far dogs love it. Only thing i don't like is the price. Cost as much as Vet Prescription food!! Could lower it would be nice, im on Disability hard to pay for but dogs are more important!!!
LGro (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We have always trusted Purina Pro Plan for all of our cats and dogs. The Bright Mind dog food has been no exception with our 12 year old Golden Doodle. She never turns down a meal and helps to keep her at a healthy weight and acting like a young pup. She has been on Pro Plan since she was a puppy.
CJohn83 (verified owner) –
I started buying this food for my dog (a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel) last year and within a couple of months he was much more active, going up and down the stairs on a daily basis wanting to play. Before hand he was quite sluggish as most senior dogs can be but now he is as playful as a puppy again!
Jess08 (verified owner) –
I decided to try this two years ago for my pug that was having hip issues and kept falling down. He is 15 years old and this food has done wonders. He has so much more energy and runs all around like he is a puppy. I no longer have to give him hip and joint pills.
Sterregold (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have been feeding this diet to to my 9 and 14 year old Golden Retrievers for the last six months. They are noticeably more alert and mentally focused.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Our dogs are getting a little long “in the tooth” so we switched them from the regular adult proplan chicken to bright Mind. Oud older dogs are as active and enthusiastic about life as our younger dogs

my dog loves this food, and its put a shine back on her 10 year old coat

Switched foods very recently in light of the grain free diets causing heart disease. My 14 yr old dog has been in hospice care the past 2.5 yrs & became incredibly grumpy / snippy at night for the past 9 months with no known trigger. Recognize that after feeding this diet for approx a month her grump factor was gone…my sweet old girl was back for the final months of her life. Very happy & a bit surprised… now recommending to my clients. Thank you Purina!

Daisy loves her Pro Plan Bright Mind, and I think it’s actually helping her cognitive abilities! Meat pieces could stand to be a lot larger, though
LenK (verified owner) –
I have been giving Angel this food for almost a year. She’s a picky eater. We add some boiled skinless chicken breast and rice to it to get her to eat. Most of the time that satisfies her, but sometimes she passes it up.
MustangSuzy (verified owner) –
Our little schnauzer is 13 yrs old and at times seemed sluggish and confused about her whereabouts. We started her on Bright Mind and she seems to be more alert and active. She seems more energized and will leap and bound at times. My husband and I believe this has made a difference in her health,
JoyBean (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog gobbles this food right up! I’m glad Purina makes a food for older dogs.
Sunny11 (verified owner) –
When we adopted Sunny, she was low-energy, didn’t play or chew, and very shy. They were not sure what her age was, and she could have been as old as 6. After her first year, I switched her to Pro Plan Adult 7+ Bright Mind, and within weeks she was more social, actually playful, and started communicating with us (tapping, barking, etc.) to be more engaged entirely.
Happyappyannie (verified owner) –
Our Labrador Retriever, Kota, was started on this about 4 years ago. He has retired after 9 years being a therapy dog and turned 15 years old last July, 2018. This is a miracle food for him!

Initially purchased this product a little over a year ago thinking I would try it for my then 8 year old Karelian Bear Dog. She is somewhat of a picky eater and was quite surprised as how much she seemed to like it. I didn’t really give much thought as to whether or not it would improve her mind but within a month we began to notice a tremendous difference in how she was playing again like a 2 year old. We have her half brother who is 2.5 years younger than her and she began to play with him like she did a couple of years earlier. This year when she shed and put on her new coat we noticed an amazing difference in how much thicker and softer her coat has become. At her last vet appointment the vet actually noticed the difference. We are also feeding it to our male.

Approximately 3 yrs. ago, when my minpin, “Buddah”, was 13 yrs.7mos., I noticedhe was getting lethargic. I saw a TV ad for Bright Mind and decided to try it.Within 2 months I noticed a difference in “Buddah”. He started to initiate our usualplaying routines, instead of me forcing him to play. He survived can’t whenhe was 9 and the vet still have him only 3 more years, at most. He is now16yrs.8mos. and I have no doubt that the Bright Mind, both the dry and wetforms which I mix, has been a major contribution to “Buddah’s” longevity.I make it a point to tell people, with older dogs, about Bright Mind. Actually,I have about it! Thank you.

My dogs can hear me open the bag and come running ! They love it and I have seen such an improvement in their health and energy levels!
LindaD (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have been feeding both my dogs Purina ProPlan since they were puppies–they are now 13 years old! About age 8, I switched to Bright Minds since is is formulated for older dogs. They have been doing wonderful with it. The food is well tolerated and digested by them and they love it. I have found that the Proplan products that I have used are very efficient, meaning that the dog eliminate less than what they take in. Therefore, they use what they need and eliminate the rest! So less work for me! I only wish it weren’t so expensive and that it came in different flavors other than chicken.
bltny (verified owner) –
I was skeptical, but the owner of a brother to my 13 year old dog had tried it and liked the results. My boy had trouble remembering how to got up the stairs, forgot the difference between basic commands, and would seem to get lost in the exercise yard. After just 2 weeks on the food, I am seeing significant differences in all of these. I recommended it to a neighbor with similar issues with his 10 year old. In 3 weeks, he also saw improvements.
Kiralynnh (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Works very well for my 13 year old labrador who struggled with some weight issues in the past on other senior foods. Also seems to be more lively and energetic

We first started using Pro Plan Bright Minds for our last Golden. I needed a limited ingredient chicken & rice blend WITHOUT sweet potato. So many of these foods contain sweet potato and it was causing her some problems. She lived to be nearly 17! So for our current (rescue) Golden, we stayed with Pro Plan Chick & Brown Rice. She was in bad shape when we rescued her — including a not so great coat. After 2 months, she is doing great, her coast looks magnificent, no "hot spots," her ears are all clear without using any meds, and she LOVES the Pro Plan. Please don't drop this food from your lineup!
Bhflynn84 (verified owner) –
Our vet recommended this food to us when our 14 year old Pit Bull starting staring off in the corner and seemed to get lost in the backyard not knowing where she was. We switched foods and it worked wonders! So now our 14, 13 and 12 year old have all made the switch and we are so pleased with the results. You will notice a difference in 30 days. Thank you Purina

my 2 dogs perked up after eating this food for a week I could see a difference in them they had more energy
Colesmom (verified owner) –
My 12 year old Pom had very little energy before we switched to ProPlan and now he acts like a puppy! He loves the food and we always loved him but now we just enjoy his playfulness even more since the switch. We saw the extreme change within a week. Thanx ProPlan for giving us a second chance with our adorable fur baby!

Overall good food. I wish Purina made one without eggs, because my senior girl is allergic to them.

so we decided to try the Bright Mind. After about a month, we started noticing how her ears were perking up more and how she seemed to be more of herself. Better digestion too! I’m really sold on this product for aging dogs.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I am a breeder and previously a veterinary technician of 15 years. I have always been a Proplan user, but never really went for the foods that seemed like “gimmicks”. Over the last 6 months our 9.5 year old started slowing down. She had always been a very active Ridgeback and it was unusual for her to not want to go outside and frolic with the younger dogs. I read about Proplan bright minds food but wasn’t really convinced it would make a difference. I tried it anyway for her and our 7.5 year old. The results have been outstanding. We noticed a definite increase in energy and alertness. They have only been on the food for about 2-3 weeks (after transition period). I have always trusted Proplan, but wow! This food is amazing! I am a believer and will definitely be telling other breeders and pet owners about it! Thank you for making our “crazy girl” crazy again! 🙂

I have 9 older dogs. I decided to feed this product to two of my oldest dogs. With in weeks I saw a difference in her behavior that was amazing. She jumped around in the yard and chased leaves being blown by the wind. She followed me around interested in what I was doing. So I decided to feed all my dogs the Pro Plan Bright Mind as they are all over 8 yrs. old. Great Food. Thank to Purina Pro Plan for this amazing food.

I tried this food on a 14 year old female at the urging on my vet tech daughter. I found that within three days I could tell a visible difference in her activity level. She was actively jumping out of her crate, running outside and circling the yard. Prior to the BM food she would totter out and reluctantly go outside. She is much more alert, bright eyed and youthful. She has been on this food for a couple of months and I could not be happier. I actually started adding BM to my other dogs food, those who were over the age of five. If you have not tried this food for your elderly dog you are missing out!

We have been using Pro Plan for all our Boxers. For our now 10 year Boxer girl we use the Bright mind for older dogs. She has done incredibly well on this food. She is energetic and plays with the younger dogs. If you are looking for a food for your senior dogs, this is the best.

I had seen the commercial for this product several years ago during the Purina National Dog after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The commercial described my sister’s older dogs to a tee. The 2 oldest in the group did not move around very much, little energy. I told her about Bright Minds and we eagerly awaited for its’ debut. Unfortunately, before that happened, the oldest, Chance became ill and wasn’t able to benefit from it. Luckily, the debut came out for the next in line, Mia. She was 11 when we started her on Bright Minds. It took a few weeks, maybe a month before we actually started to see the changes in her. She began to play with her younger siblings. Her movements became easier as time passed. Unfortunately, she lasted a year until illness took her away from us as well. The siblings: Kylie, Jacey, Bryce, Lainie and Payton are all on Bright Minds. Lainie and Payton are in the youngest generation but are 8 and 7 to match their names. At present, the one who has had a big change has been Jacey. She has been running, playing tag and chase with us. Her story kind of matches Mia’s story. Jacey used to not be able to keep her balance whenever she stood up. Now, she has no problems at all. Even Bryce, who turns 11 in 15 days, has a new spring to his step.

I’ve been feeding this to my American Eskimo dog for a little shy of a year. She’s now 11 years old. She had always been picky with food since I adopted her when she was 8. She’s been eating this food very well. I do think she definitely seems brighter and more alert. In fact, we’ve recently started working on some more trick training which I never would’ve thought possible. Everyone comments on how my Daisy seems like a “permanent puppy” and I’d have to agree.

A little over 6 mos ago I started two 8 yr old beagles on the Bright Mind formula. To my surprise, about 4 mos in, they both started playing with toys and became much more active. One was overweight but is now losing at a healthy rate. How often does a product perform exactly the way you see it perform in the TV commercials? To say I’m pleased is an understatement!

My corgi, Miles, just turned 15 on 5/5/2020. He was super sharp until about 2 years ago and then we noticed a steady decline mentally. He was really showing signs of “doggy dementia” and it was concerning. He was anxious, constantly pacing around at night. He was getting lost in the house and stuck in corners. He was not really interested in his toys anymore and started to have accidents in the house. I tried a few supplements and while I noticed a small amount of improvement at first, it quickly faded. I was starting to get concerned I may have to euthanize him due to his anxieties and mental state even though physically he was still doing so well. My vet recommended this food to us and we decided to give it a try. About a month in, I noticed he wasn’t getting “lost” as much in the house. By three months, he began to remember where the sliding door was to go out and was even “asking” to go out again. While he doesn’t play like he used to, he started to pick up and carry around his favorite toys again. He is sleeping through the night now, and the pacing has lessened. I truly feel that this food brought my dog back to me. It was devastating to see him be able to run around in the yard with all this energy but declining so badly mentally. I feel like this food could potentially give me years with my dog I wouldn’t have had. While I know that I will most likely have to put him on a medication for anxieties as he gets older, I am so happy at the difference this food has made all on it’s own. Thank you so much for this product.

Blew’s a cattle dog. He was starting to lose his kiddy-yup and go. I figured that the torn ACL he had when he was eight was starting to slow him down. But then I noticed he appeared to “forget” things. First I thought maybe it was his eyesight. No. When we were outside, his eyes were like a hawk. Perhaps his hearing. No, he could still hear the fridge open, even in the middle of the night. He just lacked spunk. The vet said nothing was wrong, “It’s just old-age.” Well, we switched to Bright Mind. After eating half-way through a 30 lb. bag, my old Blew was back! He’s back to where he was before! I’ve got a boy who wants to run & play again!

We've had our dog Meadow, a medium Westie mutt, for 6 years (she is now 8). Over that time we've tried several foods for her, and most recently had her on Nulo senior dry food (grain free turkey) for over a year. Her coat was dull, dry, and she had little energy, which we attributed to her being older. At her latest vet check up, we were told to start on Pro Plan. It's been a few months and we're noticing great improvement in her coat. Much more shiny and soft. Her eyes are less goopy, and she has tons of energy. She and our 5 month old puppy are playing all the time. She's in great shape, too! We've had dogs for decades, and this is the most dramatic improvement we've seen with a change of food.

We started feeding our dogs this product quite sometime ago. Upon seeing the first advertisement about how it would bring about a change in the 7+ year old dogs, I thought “yeah sure”. Well I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised as when in a short time we could really see a real difference in our 8 year old female Karelian Bear Dog “Miss Haley” . She keeps her younger brother “Comet” on his toes. While Comet is a couple of years younger, we’ve started feeding it to him as well. Both dogs love the dry and wet versions of this product. It does everything it says and more.

Thanks Purina. My dogs are really “living” again.

I started feeding this to Annie about 6 mo before she passed. She liked it and ate it. She needed to eat as she was taking high doses of pain meds and didn’t have a great appetite. She also seemed to be a bit more “with it” and engaged a little more with us and the other dogs while she was on “Bright Minds”.

My almost nine year old Airedale has been on ProPlan Bright Mind for about a year and a half. Amazing. Though eternally playful and active (he is a Terrier after all), he has become even more so. Additionally, his mobility was somewhat hindered by spondylitis and two severed ligaments in his left foreleg, but the effects of these conditions have been dramatically diminished. Truly an amazing product, but be prepared to spend more time responding to your dog’s increased desire for play and activity.

She does enjoy it but I wish they would have continued making the bright minds with the large breed supplements.

This is a great product that really works. After a month we’ve seen huge differences. I lost 15 yr old this year who still had good minds. Wish it was still available in large breed Recommends this product ✔ Yes Originally posted on purina.com

My older lab was on her last leg , thought she didn’t have that much longer. Brought this food , within two or three days she was acting like a pup again. She used to sleep all day and growl at the other dogs . After feeding her this , now she’s active again and playing with the other dogs. I want to thank Purina for giving her a great couple of years.

My dogs stand by the bin when I scoop the food into their bowls. I suspect that if they didn’t love and respect me as much as they do, I would be knocked over the the food bin emptied.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchase this food for my 13 year old heeler mix. He loves it for one. Also, I believe this keeps him healthy for his age. He has amazing teeth bones and his mind is active and still curious and very playful.

I have two dogs, a 14 year old Belgian Groenendael and a 13 year old Pom mix. I bought this since my little Pom needs smaller kibble and my Belgian has eaten smaller kibble all her life. Both dogs seem to enjoy the kibble, and I like that I’m feeding a complete product with all the appropriate testing, especially with the NM-DCM issues. Thank you, Purina. You’ve had a hard road these last few years with all the BEG dog food proponents.

A year ago I started my 7 year old cocker spaniel on Bright Mind 7+ and during the year she earned her Rally Advanced, Rally Excellent, RAE, and Trick dog Novice titles. Now at 8 years, we are moving on to Rally Masters. I don’t think this would have happened with out Bright Mind. It made her young and active again.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) ProPlan Bright Mind food is a great food for older dogs with the extra glucosamine added.
My 8 year old Labrador Elroy has started on it recently after being on the ProPlan Lamb & Rice his whole life.

My Minpin, Buddah, turned 17 years old today. I started him on Bright Mindover 3 years ago when I noticed he was becoming very sedentary. Within 3months he returned to his usual playful disposition. He has aged gracefully and I’m certain that Bright Mind has had something to do with his longevity.Thank you so much.
