We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your petâs health, see your veterinarian regularly.
Please follow specific daily feeding instructions included on packaging.
Transition Instructions:
Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7 – 10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you’re feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My frenchie is thriving on this food, coat is in great condition, and since we’ve switched to the lamb formula his skin is clearing up nicely
Lgirl89 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, the only reason I switched my little girl to the food is because she was having issues with loose stool, even after doing recommended switching my girl still has had issues with loose stool. The smell isn’t that great either i preferred the smell of the chicken and rice shredded blend. I wish more probiotics would be added to the food. Thinking about switching to a new brand of food. Ingredients are sub pare not horrible but not great, more money invested in research of good quality ingredients would help.

Please bring back the 13.6kg bags! Extra waste from smaller bags is disappointing when bigger bags are still offered in the salmon variety. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

Camsmom (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have littermates that have skin allergies, even to salmon! Thank goodness my vet reccomended that we try Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin Lamb and Oatmeal dog food. My dogs love it, it really helps and isn’t extravagantly expensive. Purina does it again.
Angie (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Holly and I are very happy with this dry salmon food in combination with the dry lamb food because Holly gets very itchy red skin and obsessively links her skin when eating chicken (possibly beef) dog foods. (I am not sure if the beef fat added to these products affects Holly’s allergies, but it doesn’t appear to so far.) We also add half of a Purina Beneful Prepared Meals wet food at each feeding, which she really loves! We only use the lamb, salmon, and turkey due to her allergies.
EchosMom (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought a foster pup home who had skin allergies and constant runny loose poops who also wouldn’t eat. I tried many different foods, some of which were very expensive. A friend gave me this to try and it literally cleared up all of those issues. He actually likes the food and looks forward to meal time. His skin cleared up and his poops have gotten much firmer! I’m impressed…to say the least.
Bratwithacat (verified owner) –
I’ve used this food for over 6 years and the quality is so much worse than it used to be. Unfortunately I have to change foods because the last few back have been half filled with crumbles and dust, and my dong is now getting diarrhea from eating it. They must have reformulated the food. I am so disappointed. Photo is after we tried to sift out some kibble
Wei pet (verified owner) –
My dog has a very sensitive stomach and this food is the only one I’ve found that doesn’t upset her stomach.
Happydog (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog had sensitive stomach issues and was picky on the protein. Lamb is the perfect protein.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) When we got our husky she was on a different brand. Wasn’t doing good. So we tried another popular brand everyone was raving about. Once again. No good. So I went to my local pet store and asked for some help. Was pointed in this direction. My husky runs for dinner now and she’s not scratching as much. If you own a husky you know! And her coat is so soft!
FurMom of 6 (verified owner) –
My Furbabies LOVE this food! Wish that they wouldn’t take out the Probiotics though
LuvRNewf (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Started feeding PPP-SS Lamb formula after our dogs had allergy reactions to quite a few other brands. Their skin, ears and feet had sores on them with the other foods. Within a few days/weeks their infections cleared up. They’ve been eating this formula or the PPP-SS Turkey formula ever since. They rarely leave any morsels behind. I frequently recommend it to other owners that have dogs with allergies or sensitive tummies.
Cocononuts (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog has always eaten Purina Pro Plan, but after she started having itchy skin I decided to try her on the Sensitive Skin formula-Salmon flavor. While she did love it, it made her smell so bad so we went back to her original formula. Well, fast forward to her 3 weeks ago, she had simply stopped eating her food so I decided to give the Sensitive Skin Lamb flavor a try she absolutely cannot get enough of her food! Hopefully this continues to work for her skin as well!
Syd2002 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My dog enjoys the food and it doesn’t upset her stomach. She’s a working dog and I’ve been able to keep her at a great weight and her coat is very shiny and healthy. She has a sensitive stomach and have had no issues feeding this food.
Diacin (verified owner) –
I purchased this dog food for my two Rottweilers who have allergies, especially to chicken. It is so difficult to find a food without chicken and one they both liked. I introduced this food to my dogs and also purchased the wet food, same brand and flavor, and I was so surprised they ate every single bite! They absolutely love it and I am so very, very happy! I highly recommend this brand!
lucy24 (verified owner) –
My dog is very picky, and has never been very interested in kibble. I’ve tried so many brands, toppers, and types, and wasted a lot of money doing it! I bought a small bag of this food as a last resort when she had an upset stomach, and was shocked when she offered to eat it dry, with nothing added on top. This food, combined with the Native Pet probiotic cleared up her upset stomach, and she’s still enthusiastically eating this food! I do wish that they made a large breed sensitive skin and stomach formula in the lamb flavor, as my dog doesn’t like salmon but I would love the added joint support for her! Overall, if you’re struggling with finding a high-quality food for your picky dog, I highly recommend giving this food a try!
SHILOH (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just bought today, so far both dogs are eating it. Waiting to see if it helps busters itching, and stomach issues

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have 2 Frenchies… one has a sensitive tummy and the other has sensitive skin. They both do amazing on this food… shiny coats, good energy, and happy to eat the food. I like that I can feed them the same food and it meets both their needs. Also love all the science that goes behind formulating this food. Thank you for healthy and happy pups!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We absolutely love this food, especially Bruce! As a Shepherd, he has a sensitive stomach, so finding something that agrees with him is a top priority. This food is made with safe, healthy ingredients, and I’m confident I won’t be trying anything else. Highly recommended!

Nat45 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My puppy had pretty severe stomach issues that would come and go for the first year of her life. I switched to this food at the advice of my vet at one year old and she has been better ever since.
Jlui (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My 5 y.o. husky/shepherd cross seems to have every ailment under the sun. And so other than Rx hydrolyzed dog food, we have gone through six different brands of kibble before we came upon one that finally did not cause my dog any health issues: Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach. And I’m thankful that there are two types we can choose from, salmon and lamb. If only there were more options so that my dog can have more variety. (He can’t have the turkey one due to poultry.) We mix it with some fish oil supplement and mashed pumpkin to increase his fibre intake as well as maintenance care for his bad joints. It’s pricey, but you gotta do what you gotta do to ensure the health of your dog!
Half Dozen Fur Babies (verified owner) –

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dog food seems to do very well with my Labradoodle because he has itchy sensitive skin. I feel the oatmeal and lamb is much more gentle on his stomach and along with oat baths we are seeming to help his skin being so sensitive and itchy all the time
Rosieroodle (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the only food that my dog tolerates. She has very sensitive skin and breaks out into a rash with any other food we’ve tried. Our vet recommended this one, and it’s been perfect for her!

Gracie20 (verified owner) –
Have tried several types of dog food from duck to duck and potato for sensitive skin and stomach and it didn’t do a thing for her skin…natural balance. Read up on Proplan for dogs with lamb and oatmeal and her skin cleared up like magic…no scratching. Lamb and rice didn’t work for her either, but Oatmeal is the secret.
dogmom23 (verified owner) –
I have been buying this dog food for a few years. I was buying Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream and I realized that this was not a good food for my Labrador because he did not get enough exercise to burn off this high fat food. He was due for surgery and his kidney numbers were high. The vet suggested switching to this Purina Pro Plan, and he lost 25 pounds.

I bought this food for my puppy who has been struggling with loose stools. His stool Simas be getting better, and he really enjoys this food. The only issue is, that there is a ton of powder at the bottom of the bag as well as the expensive price point. Can Purina, please address this? Is it due to the oats?

Purina removed the probiotics from this diet. That defeats the purpose of this food. My dog had been on it for yrs doing great til this change(that consumers don’t know about!). Now she doesn’t want it and she is having 3-4 times as many bowel movements a day! Poor quality stools at that. Very disappointed in Purina doing this. I had always explicitly trusted the Purina name but no more.

I have been using this food for the last 3 years with amazing results, consistent solid stools and my dog never saying no to the food at dinner time. Recently within the last few weeks they have changed the formula causing my dog major gastro issues that prompted me to seeing a vet. Little did I know the formula had changed because it was not specified anywhere that the formula was now missing the probiotics. Thank you for changing the SENSITIVE STOMACH formula with no notice to consumers as I’m sure it makes alot of sense to mess around with the ingredients of a sensitive stomach diet….. please go back to your old formulas!

Bought this about 2 weeks ago, trying to help my choc. lab with some very seirous, seborrhea (allergies). So far, so good, but she did have alot done at the vets office. I will say she eats it, but doesn’t just run to her bowl when I put some down. I have spoiled her with putting some homemade toppings on top. Had to stop doing that until my Allergy Testing Results come back.

Allergies went away and he is a really picky eater and actually enjoys eating his food.He still itches a bit but not nearly as much as before.Purina pro plan made a previous shredded lamb kibble which was AMAZING and better than this food but they discontinued it :’( BRING IT BACK!! Recommends this product ✔ Yes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog may be allergic to chicken so my breeder suggested a food with out it. This has no chicken. My dog’s skin seems less irritated, less itchy, and has a shiny coat again.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My German shepherd has been fed purina pro plan since we got him at 9 weeks old. He absolutely loves purina pro plan and this formula has been helping his sensitive stomach. Thanks Purina!

Kibble is perhaps too large/hard for my Maltese dogs. They tend to eat some and leave the rest of their portioned servings. I wish there were a Purina line like this specifically for toy breeds..
Petgran (verified owner) –
This food is terrific for our dog and it agrees with stomach and coat continues to look terrific ~ Purinaid great

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My husky mix tends to have a sensitive stomach, we’ve tried quite a few different brands of kibble over the years that have made her sick or she’d flat out refuse to eat for days at a time. She was then diagnosed with a variant of lupus last year and all of our research concluded that she needed to be on a high quality diet that included omegas and probiotics. Since she has been on pro plan she doesn’t miss her meals, and will often wait at her food bowl hoping to get some extra scoops. She has a nice soft fur coat and the introduction of balanced nutrition has helped us manage the symptoms of her disease.

magyckdance (verified owner) –
What can I say? The dogs eat it, so they must like it. Just wish it came in a bigger bag so the price per pound would be a better deal.

My lab mix has terrible skin allergies. This food works so well she doesn’t need the medication she was on.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
This food was the only thing that our Newfie cross could eat and not upset his bowels. He still at 3 years old never turns it down and his coat is lovely!!
Kimsea (verified owner) –
I’ve been using this food with my 2 dogs for a long time and the last few bags I’ve purchased are full of powder and crumbs. Not sure why this has happened but I’ve started to shop other skin and stomach sensitive dog foods for better quality. I hate to have to change their food at this age but feel that I am no longer getting our money’s worth from Purina.
Creed (verified owner) –

debmcf65 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Camo came to me from Slovakia in 2017. I fed him the puppy formula of the adult brand of food my older boxer ate. Despite being housebroken, I often awoke to soft piles of poop on the floor. Tried several brands, limited ingredient diets, even raw. On any of Pro Plan proteins, my boxers are thriving! Soft fur, rarely a gurgling belly, poops are usually formed, and not huge. Boxers are well known for their stinky gas. This is not a problem in my home. Three adults, 2 different types; sensitive skin and stomach, active 30/20, with excellent results.

Please bring back the 13.6kg bags! Extra waste from smaller bags is disappointing when bigger bags are still offered in the salmon variety.
VizslaMom (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We have been very happy with the qualify and variety provided with the ProPlan line. It is very affordable and the dogs love it. Our dogs have some stomach sensitive and the ProPlan Adult Sensitive Skin and Stomach has been wonderful with keeping those concerns at bay.
CCrosby (verified owner) –
I’m normally pleased with this dog food. Not sure if we got a bag that was close to the bottom of the barrel or what but we got a lot of food dust in this bag.
Hank the tank (verified owner) –

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normally our 9 yr old hound mix has a very sensitive stomach, even after just one serving. However, we switched to Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach food and he hasn’t had any issues.
Lexxiscomplexx (verified owner) –
This food is a godsend to us. My dog has struggled with chronic diarrhea since he was 6 months old and as a result he was underweight. We finally tried a new veterinarian and we were able to ascertain that he has a mild allergy to chicken. Since switching to this food he’s a healthy weight and his coat is super soft and shiny. We haven’t had a flare up of diarrhea in 4 months and that’s saying something!
Stellas dad (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My dog loves this product and we find it is very soothing on her stomach. Other chows have given her “the runs”
Shadow (verified owner) –
This has helped my 10 year old lab so much I have been able to take her off her steroids.
Dinessar (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the things that I liked about this food is that it does not have meat byproducts. The first ingredient is also meat. Additionally, I have two dogs that are sensitive and skin and stomach. Neither of them had issues on this food. The only con is that it claims to be high in protein, however, I’ve had many veterinarians. Tell me that a high protein formula would actually be 30% protein or more.
DutchMom (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been feeding Dutch Pro Plan since he was a puppy. EVERYONE comments on how shiny and beautiful he is. He loves Pro Plan and so do I.

Chaos (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been through 16 different dog foods and this is the only one that I found that he can tolerate that does not have some form of chicken in it. It is absolutely the best he agrees 100%.
Denise18 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Helps my dog with his allergy to chicken – he LOVES the salmon dry and wet food. Since switching him from chicken to salmon – no GI issues.
Massie (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I recently switched from another brand to this and have noticed a big change in her skin, and she doesn’t seem like she’s starving all the time like that last kibble she was eating.

I have a 16 pound Boston Terrier with a sensitive belly. We switched her to this food in puppy form when she was 6 months old and now she hardly ever has gas. Just switched to the adult formula and so far no issues! We also have a Pitbull with skin issues. This food works great for him as well
IVAN THE TERRIBLE (verified owner) –
Started giving feeding our Cane Corso, Ivan, this Lamb and Oat dry dog food and he loves it! Previously he’d been, on occasion, a picky eater who showed little enthusiasm for his daily meals. Now he gobbles up his breakfast and dinners with gusto (no more adding a parm or feta topping to encourage him to eat). As an added bonus, he has a sensitivity to chicken (makes his ears itch), so this formula is perfect for our boy! Would highly recommend for anyone with a large active breed with discriminating tastes!
CeeCee (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Sensitive Stomach Dog Food Lamb and Oat Meal Formula is a favorite for our pup! She looks and feels her best with Purina Products. Highly recommend.

Laneygirl (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My girl is allergic to chicken and came to me as a rescue with rashes on her stomach. I tried different sensitive diet foods but landed on Purina Pro Plan sensitive skin and stomach. She loves it, she doesn’t have any reactions on it and it keeps her regular and healthy

Our dog likes the product. It weights 28 or so pounds and we are in our 70’s. It would be appreciated if the delivery person would take it an additional 4 steps from the sidewalk and leave it on the porch.

I have been using this brand for my GSDs and have had no problems with them. I do add the protein and vegetable that we are eating for supper feeding.
Inky52 (verified owner) –
After trying many other foods we finally found this one that satisfies the needs of one of my dogs who has itchy skin and tummy troubles from many other kinds of kibble. Plus it also satisfies the taste buds of my other dog who is a picky eater

CrazyScratching (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog Kero had a dry skin problem, his scratching was driving me crazy. I started using the pro plan for skin and stomach and it helped and he likes the flavor.
Purina Pro Plan (verified owner) –
Every time I buy this, it is always crumbling and you do not get pieces of dog food. You end up getting less food and more crumbs.
DogMom24 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has helped my German Shepards skin and allergies so much. She goes to the bathroom more normally now and has had better skin and coat and it’s helped her ear infections from reoccurring as well.
Zan (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog is allergic to chicken and chicken by product. It is very hard to find dog food without chicken in it. This has no chicken but it does have all the essential vitamins she needs. And she loves it!!

Our dog loves it and she doesn’t vomit like with her old dog food. It is expensive but worth it.
MAB25 (verified owner) –
I have a mini golden retriever and she loves it. It does help her sensitive tummy too. She started in this as a puppy eating the Puppy formula. When she turned one vet told me to keep her on this diet but switch to Adult brand. She is now two and is still enjoying it.
moodybluegirl (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We had been looking for so long and this one has been the best one for our one dog out of 3, It hasn’t completely helped but definitely improved for him
Liska29 (verified owner) –
My dog was transitioning to this food and it did not go well. He became sick 24 hours after eating it. My dog was vomiting continuously and this was the only thing that was changed in his diet.
We have him on a rice water diet, to get him started back on his old pro plan food. I gave 2 stars because purina pro plan as a brand is not bad, but the sensitive skin and stomach definitely has something in it that needs to be fixed.
Itsmejessica (verified owner) –
I went from hills science diet to this, and didn’t realize how privileged I was with the resealable bag. Why in the world would they make a bag that does not do that????
