When we originally got our first rescue dog (a border collie/Jack russell/maybe husky) we started him on homemade raw. We’d rotate between “chicken backs” (chicken carcass with meat still on, bought from local chicken producer) with homemade meat blend of ground beef, raw eggs (shells and all), flax, fresh veg. The dog loved it, but it was a lot of work over time we defaulted to some high quality kibble and Cesar. We now have a new pup, and decided for both their sakes to go back to raw (with some kibble but not a lot). Both dogs adore all the flavours of this brand, and the ingredient list is short and sweet, with Canadian producers. It’s similar to what we were making at home before, but easier. We add an egg or some sardines or salmon oil every few meals to change it up and add omega 3’s, calcium, etc. There are two sealed packages in the box, so it’s easy to rotate flavours. Re-posting the review I gave for the smaller size package as it is now available in this better-value size! Recommends this product ✔ Yes

We have been buying the hungry hunter food for a few months now. Our dog loves it, eats every bite. every where she goes she gets compliments about her fur, which is very soft and healthy. our only issue is that they changed the packaging and its not as easy to open which is definately something to consider, but again the food is so good its worth the trouble. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I love this brand in turkey – my dogs do too. We thought we would try the chicken and we are disappointed with how wet and mushy it is. The turkey wasn’t like this .. it held together more.
