My 1.5 year old St. Bernard used to eat veterinary-prescription Royal Canin since she was a puppy. when we moved and the vet was no longer a convenient place to purchase her food, we weaned her off the Royal Canin and tried three, pricier, other brands, all of which upset her stomach, even with a two-week transition between them. In a last ditch attempt to help her stomach issues before going back to the vet food, we purchased the Royal Canin Junior Giant food. Layla was nearly immediately better; her stool became solid the next day. Since then, we have not had any issues with her, and will continue to purchase a Royal Canin, graduating to the giant breed adult formula in 6 months time. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I currently purchase this for my 10 mo old GPxNewfie who is around 130lbs at the moment. I love that the kibbles are large so he spends time chewing instead of just gulping. Plus that it’s now for appropriate nutrition for him now that he’s in his stage of growth where he is bulking up as opposed to just sprouting up. I used Royal Canin for my last dog, and had great results with her so I decided to stick with it, and continue to have fantastic results. There’s a food for every size of dog I recommend it to all my friends. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

We got our pup when he was 2 months. We started him on Blue Buffalo Wilderness but after a few weeks we didn’t like how his stool was and he wouldn’t eat it all. We transitioned him to RC Large puppy and he liked it. When we realized he would be over 100lbs, we transitioned him to the RC Giant puppy and he LOVES it. Now he’s 9 months and is eating the RC Giant Junior and he still likes it.I like how the kibble is bigger and that it has more of the vitamins and nutrients for his size. The only down fall is that it’s hard for us to get because our Pet Smart only ever has 2 in stock and we swear there is another pup the same age eating it to that gets it from our Pet Smart so when we are out of it, it’s always a race to get the 2 bags. Online isn’t really an option because every time I try to get the RC Giant, it always says shipping is unavailable in my area but I can get the RC Large shipped no problem. Pet Smart is the only pet store in our region that sells the Giant formula, everyone else stops at Large.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Cane Corso is 9 months old. I had tested many dry foods from the time she started eating dry food. Always she had digestive upset and it was obvious since all the super premium foods I was feeding her were causing diarrhoea or “almost liquid” discharging. I had to use continuously Gastrointestinal food which is not good for the puppies growth. After I changed to RC Junior GIANT, every thing was adjusted. After the first try!!!.
Even if, in 3 months it should be good to change food for a month (just for change) I am tninking seriously not to change and stay on the RC dry food GIANT type, permanently.
Thank you Royal Canin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My vet recommended this for my pup that is made of 2 large breeds and 2 giant breeds. He loves it, I like the size of the kibble, he actually chews it instead of inhaling, and I find his poops aren’t big so there isnt a lot of waste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to congratulate Royal Canine for the extraordinary products this company has created. My furry daughter (St.Bernard) loves her giant junior dry dog food everyday. I have noticed big improvements in her fur, joints and energy. I definetly recommend this product! Thank you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My puppy has been feed Royal Canin since day one, so when we adopted her, we wanted to continue her routine.
She loves both your wet and dry food together and is lean muscular.
People ask what we feed her constantly.
Great product!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been buying the royal canin foods for my dogs for years now and with the newest addition being so much bigger i am glad they have something to help make sure he grow healthy my only concerns is that it seems to always be out of stock when i need it the most I have a big boy and he goes thru a 30lb bag in 2 weeks and having to switch his food because it was out of stock and the local stores did not carry his food was not fun he ended up with diarrhea and bad flatulence due to the change in food.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have my 9 month old great pyrenees service dog on this diet. He was lanky and the age of 6 months so we transitioned him to Junior Giant, and now he is building muscle!! It was a quick and easy transition from puppy to giant, my pup didnt mind the change at all. And still less stools than the other brand. Definitely a must have for giant breed dogs, absolutely recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our english mastiff was a puppy when we noticed her sensitive stomach issues. On blue Buffalo and other brands she would have constant diarrhea. Our vet gave us their canned royal canin food and once we started to run out of that we tried the royal canin giant puppy and now she is on the giant junior and is doing great!!! She is a happy dog but still very lazy who plays with our babies all day !!! And no diarrhea!! We love it!!

My 1 and 1/2 year old Irish Wolfhound is so picky and I was having a hard time finding a good she would eat. She had started loosing weight and my vet recommended Royal Canin for the palatibility. I found tbe Giant Breed Junior and thought I’d give it a try. I was so happy when my girl wolfed down her first bowl and had continued to clean out her bowl with every meal! Best food I have found and will continue to feed it for the rest of her life!

My Tosa Inu has been on this food for a month, And I have noticed a huge improvement in his stool size and quality! He was having very soft stool and was pooping like 6 times a day (ewww) but this food has knocked it down to 1-2 times a day. We love this food!

We have a Great Dane named Pepper. Was using Rayal Canin puppy dry food since her childhood. Now she is 11 months old and for last 3 months is feeding her this product. I must say, this product of Royal Canin is simply the right food I could have opted for her. Maintains perfect weight, shape, coat texture, digestion process and also boosts her immunity system. This product is just perfect!

We’ve been feeding Royal Canin to our Saint Bernard since he was a puppy. It’s the only brand I can find that offers puppy, junior and adult for the Giant breed. Royal Canin was recommended by our vet and it’s one of the few brands of dog food we trust. We’ve never had any intestinal issues with Royal Canin. Our 7 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback also eats Royal Canin.

Royal Canin’s “Giant Breed” food line is perfect for my Great Dane, he loves this food.
FYI- Each stage of food has different measurements, I do recommend following the instructions on the packaging depending on the age of your pet.

I buy this to use as lock up treats for my Shiba Inus. Instead of biscuits that may not have good nutrition I use the Giant Breed nuggets. The food smells great and Shiba Inus are crazy about it! It is just the right size for a good crunch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for our very picky Newfoundland puppy… well 1 year old… And she absolutely loves It! We tried 6 different brands in various flavors before finding this and she finally eats without being coaxed into it by us adding anything to it. The bites are the perfect size for our large breed junior girl! We are definitely sticking with this food!

It’s a perfect transition to adult food for my 1/2 Newfoundland 1/2 St Bernard from puppy food!
AlaskaMommy (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I brought my new St. Bernard puppy home, I knew she would have different nutritional needs than smaller breed puppies. I want her to be the healthiest she can be, so I spent a lot of time comparing formulas, talking with her vet and emailing breeders to ensure her food would provide everything she needed and nothing she didn’t require. I tried a few before this (it’s not available at my local store). All of them failed. Their tiny kibble did not encourage chewing, she didn’t care for the taste or they were grossly expensive without better ingredients.
Dee Tree (verified owner) –
Dog food is excellent for giant breeds. Kibble is extra large for them so they have to chew.
Sproinky (verified owner) –
I can’t claim anything for outcomes yet; however, my two dogs fought over the this kibble. The littler one just devoured the kibble like he’d been starving for his whole life. I think that’s noteworthy given that the dogs share bones (unless they are extra delicious) without incident. So here is the opposite extreme from the folks who say their dogs don’t like it! Ha! I guess I’ll move the littler dog from Ollie to royal canin too. I moved the larger one to this food because she is having digest trouble with every other high end food I have tried.
Moose G (verified owner) –
My dog loves it and is helping with his muscle growth.

In my opinion for Cane Corso (my dog’s name Callie) must eat Royal Canin 6 days and 1 day natural meat. This is just my exparices, when we take Caillie she was 2 month and at that time she was natural eater(meat, eaggs, currot e.t.). Slooly-slooly we give dry nutrition other premium brands, after 2 week she eat full week dry nutrition. We never buy 5kg nutrition to test, when dog frequently change nutrition, it’s very bad for her immunsystem. We just tooked 3 top premium brands a new pack and test it.(changed by the guideline one nutrition to other). From 5th month Callie eat dry nutrition Royal Canin(6D).Now she’s 12 month, very strong, healthy, clever. You can check our funny YouTube channel where she smile and happy 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/@CaneCorsoCALLIE/shorts Note. video with chocolate, – not real chocolate, we made smoozy with canin and homade yogurt 😉 It just effective video where people educate each others.

Great Dane puppy. Started on a purina food from the breeder, transisted to Holistic giant breed puppy kibble, transisted to the puppy version of this Royal brand, and finally transisted to the junior formula. I thought because they have giant breed formula, recommended by many Great Dane platforms, and assumed (due to the high cost) it’d be the best. My Great Dane doesn’t even meet the minimum standard size requirements for its breed. Not sure if it was the food, genetics, or both that contributed to this. Loose stools, VERY loose for the first three months, then ultra squishy stools like soft serve ice cream, which is darn near impossible to pick up. Still has loose stools 50% of the time. The Junior kibble is .5″x.5″ large, so it doesn’t fit well in the brain game toys, can only fit one kibble per hole in most of them, and doesn’t fit at all in the giant breed slow feeder/ boredom ball. She just finished her first heat on this food: second to last day of heat…liquid stool, everywhere in her kennel. After hrs of cleaning and sanitizing, I did read that diarrhea sometimes happens when it heat, so I’m no 100% sure if the food contributed, just reporting our experience. She’ll be fixed soon, vet wanted her to go thru at least one heat before spaying.
We’re transitioning to Purina Pro Plan large breed puppy salmon & rice for sensitive stomachs and skin next, hopefully this will give consistency in bowel movements. She’s 12 months in a few wks, so I don’t expect anything in growth. Just want solid stools, a happy tummy, a more affordable kibble, kibble that fits into those expensive brain toys, and a comfortable happy puppy. I did notice that she doesn’t shed nearly as much as our previous Great Danes: not even close as much, who were all on Purina. However, with this Great Dane, we’ve committed to baths every other wk with gentle puppy shampoo, NOT a deshedding shampoo. Whereas her predecessors got once a month baths, and kinda regular deshedding grooming. Again, not sure if it’s causation or correlation, just reporting our experiences with with these foods. If her shedding gets crazy like the others, we will go back to Royal giant breed. I can handle her 50% of loose stools she gets. I can’t handle ANOTHER Great Dane that sheds as much as our first three. So much I had to vacuum every day, and got a full container every time. Our hose was a brand new build when we moved in, and we’re the first to live here, so it wasn’t dog hair from previous tenants. Just my Titus’s hair… I miss that big baby boy, all 160lbs of him. Don’t miss the shedding tho!

I am impressed with all the research the company does to make sure each breed gets what they need, from nutriments, to the size of the kibble. While my dogs do not have a specific breed food, the Giant Breed is perfect for my English Mastiffs.

Recommends this product ✘ No Originally posted on Petsuppliescanada.com

Royal Canin’s “Giant Breed” food line is perfect for my Great Dane, he loves this food. FYI- Each stage of food has different measurements, I do recommend following the instructions on the packaging depending on the age of your pet.
