DESCRIPTION
This 2-pack of Thrive® Golden Light Basking Spots allows reptile owners to provide essential IR-A for deep tissue warming for their pets. These bulbs last for up to 1,000 hours, allowing reptiles to bask to their heart’s content. More importantly, UVA light allows reptiles to manufacture Vitamin D3, which allows for calcium absorption, and helps to regulate other behaviors as well. Only at PetSmart.

Directions:
Gently fasten the heater into a UL or ETL approved incandescent fixture. Do not plug the light fixture into an electrical socket until the heater is fastened firmly to the fixture. Place the light fixture outside the habitat. Never place the light fixture inside the habitat, as hot glass can harm your pet.
Advice for Use:
It is recommended to replace your light bulb every 3-4 months. Use this bulb with a Thrive lamp fixture. Wattage drawn and correlated color temperature (CCT) provided within the standard when tested at 120V.

I bought these figuring they were a great deal as one bulb usually costs about $20, and I like and use other Thrive products. These however do not last long – I used the first on in Sept 2022, and it blew in Dec 2022 – about 2-3 months later. I then used the other one (thank god there was 2 in the pack) but this one only lasted until Jan 2023 – about 1 month, for for the price I got about 4 months of use for the 2 bulbs….I can get longer than that out of one bulb from a different brand. (I hope I just got a bad pack, but I prob will not buy these again and take the risk)

I purchased this pack exactly one week ago. I used one bulb the day I purchased it for no more than 5 hours. The next few days we were away and just left the night bulb on. It was used again the 3rd and 4th day after purchasing (for 12 hours each). On the 5th day after purchase, that first bulb went out after an additional 4 hours of use. I switched to the second bulb (thoroughly annoyed that my purchase was a waste of money). It was on for the rest of the 8 hours, then the 6th day after purchasing for 12. Well, I just turned it on for the 7th day after purchasing (being the 2nd bulb and only used for a day and a half) and it burnt out after 10 seconds. My dome is of the same brand, and I also have 3 others; they all seem to have no issues.

The bulbs seems to heat evenly and have been great; lizards love them and we do change out for infrared at night – the only reason for 3 stars is that when you get good ones they last for quite a while, however, there have a been quite a few times over the last year that I needed to return bulbs bc they would burn out after one day. These however do not last long – I used the first on in Sept 2022, and it blew in Dec 2022 – about 2-3 months later. I then used the other one (thank god there was 2 in the pack) but this one only lasted until Jan 2023 – about 1 month, for for the price I got about 4 months of use for the 2 bulbs….I can get longer than that out of one bulb from a different brand. The bulbs seems to heat evenly and have been great; lizards love them and we do change out for infrared at night – the only reason for 3 stars is that when you get good ones they last for quite a while, however, there have a been quite a few times over the last year that I needed to return bulbs bc they would burn out after one day. I think this was just a quality thing – petsupplycanada was great and it was easy to replace the faulty bulb. Will continue to use these bulbs !

I purchased this pack exactly one week ago. I used one bulb the day I purchased it for no more than 5 hours. The next few days we were away and just left the night bulb on. It was used again the 3rd and 4th day after purchasing (for 12 hours each). On the 5th day after purchase, that first bulb went out after an additional 4 hours of use. I switched to the second bulb (thoroughly annoyed that my purchase was a waste of money). It was on for the rest of the 8 hours, then the 6th day after purchasing for 12. Well, I just turned it on for the 7th day after purchasing (being the 2nd bulb and only used for a day and a half) and it burnt out after 10 seconds. My dome is of the same brand, and I also have 3 others; they all seem to have no issues.
