DESCRIPTION
Add beauty while helping to replicate the humidity in tropical environments for
your pet with this Thrive Tropical Green Terrarium Moss. This beautiful moss substrate bedding helps reptiles to shed and amphibians to hydrate, and adds a wonderful decorative touch to your terrarium decor. Only at PetSmart.
Features:
Includes: 3 quarts of Green Sphagnum Moss
Environment: Terrarium
Product Weight: 3 Dry QT (2.84 L)
Directions: Place moss substrate in the desired location of the terrarium. To increase humidity
levels, mist moss with dechlorinated water until desired humidity is reached. Monitor the humidity with a hygrometer. Remove waste daily.
Care Instructions: Replace terrarium moss substrate at least twice a month and as needed depending on terrarium humidity and pet’s habits. Replace moss once it starts to look dirty or decompose.
Remove waste with substrate scoop to make your moss last longer.
Caution: Always wash your hands after handling a pet or cleaning a habitat. Keep
out of reach of children.
Advice for Use: For high-humidity habitats, keep the moss lightly damp by misting it daily, or
several times a week, to help maintain the humidity. Always use a thermometer and hygrometer in your terrarium to monitor your pet’s environmental conditions. Refer to a pet-care guide to determine the proper substrate for your pet. Take precautions to avoid accidental ingestion of any substrate. Feeding your pet from a plate or bowl within the enclosure will help reduce accidental substrate
ingestion. Wash your hands after handling a pet or cleaning a habitat.

My gecko would not go near it…damp or dry….he stayed away from it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that this is an all natural product for my iguana, and that just misting the moss creates a more realistic habitat for my iguana. My iguana is about 4 1/2 ft long and I live in Florida, so he has free range of the house and yard, therefore he hasn’t fit in a cage since he was 1 and he’s now 22-23, but this would have been perfect for him when he was a baby. I would recommend this to people who cage their igs. It’s a much better product than alternatives out there as far as bedding. I did receive this product for free to review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This moss was very clean compared to other brands I’ve tried. It smelled fresh & earthy, and the color is nice. Good amount in each bag as well. I used in my tank for my snake, and it holds humidity well. Very good moss!

Love sphagnum moss for all my terrestrial salamander enclosures, and the fact that this kind is green is also pleasing to the eye! Best of both worlds if u ask me.

I bought this for my pet snails and I now regret it, snails will eat anything and the moss is dyed so if you have a pet that will eat anything I dont recommend this dyed moss. When I opened the package it smelt really badly of chemicals and I dont feel comfortable even trying to use it with my pets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This moss added ambiance to my frogs home decor. The natural look of forest bed is attractive and welcoming. The price is definitely a great value especially considering how big the bag is. While Im not a frog whisperer I personally enjoyed watching my frog check out the new moss decor. I will definitely purchase in the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its definitely worth trying! I would 10/10 recommend! It made my reptile feel more at home and he nestled in quite well! He seems to have really enjoyed it. I will 100 percent repurchase on my own dollar!

I bought this awhile ago as it was listed as all natural and on petsupplycanada website said no dyes – it 100% has unnatural dyes . I put it in water to test. Absolutely sickening and will make your pets sick. I told the petsupplycanada employee and they said thrive NEVER responded

I use this for my gargoyle gecko for about two years and have yet to have an issue!

We recently purchased this moss to put in the enclosure for our skink. Within a week, our skink was covered in bugs!!! We have never had issues with the enclosure or skink before. This was a new product in our enclosure — now we have an infestation! DO NOT put in with your reptiles.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first, I wasn’t sure about this product. My 20 y/o gecko is pretty picky. He likes two spots in his tank and will only eat crickets. I put this in his tank and he stayed far away from it for a few days. Checked on him today and he is basically camouflage under this moss! I guess it’s safe to say he likes it!

My snails won’t go near it, it’s so unnaturally green. Should be illegal to sell something as “natural” that has clearly been chemically dyed 🙁

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well and looks great in the tank! I like how well it holds moisture to keep the humidity up for my geckos!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good quality moss, excited to use it in my habitat for my bearded dragons. They just started shedding so hopefully that help catch it and keep it clean and cozy for them

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This moss was quite nice and a little bit went a long way. my 3YO peppermint corn snake happily received this in her tank. She had no aversion to it and fell asleep on it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yay! Im super excited to use this and Mister Frog is probably more exciting! I love how it will reduce orders and help with the shedding of my froggy, along with helping keep him hydrated and provide a comfy place to sleep!!!! Definitely try!

I use this moss in ALL of my tarantula enclosures to help maintain some moisture and add a natural look. I really love this moss because it maintains its color, doesn’t break down and doesn’t grow mold. I highly recommend this product!

We were recommended this product for our little guy. It is yet another enclosure element that is great for retaining moisture and keeping our tortoise hatchling hydrated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved Tropical Green Sphagnum Moss free from influenster. I used this moss for my turtle, this moss is very light and great for my turtle to lay on. He seemed very happy with it he now lays on it at all the times. It was a little messy coming out of the package but the majority of the moss stuck together.

I bought this for in my Crested gecko’s enclosure and it holds moisture amazingly, will definitely keep buying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect moss for substrate!! I’ve been looking for a nice moss to use in my Pacman frog tank and this is exactly what I wanted. It’s a great amount of moss and it’s a beautiful color. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for moss!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately I was given this item to review but I do not have the right type of pet for it. I have aquatic turtles that do not use moss in their tanks. However the item is well made, packaging is nice and clean and the uses are clearly laid out on the packaging.

Got this for my mantis nymph cups and it is very clearly dyed, I soaked a small handful and the water was like green in seconds. The package claims that it’s “all natural” but it is not. Nothing on the package tells you what it is dyed with. This cannot be used unless it is washed for ten or so minutes until the water runs clear

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just put the stuff in my snakes tanks today and so far they don’t seem to hate that it’s there. I’ve noticed that the humidity in the cages has gone up which is great, I will update the review shortly because I’m hoping it helps with shed.

Great; Super Great. A little pricey for just moss, ($15) but you get a lot and good product.

It’s got some kind of coloring turned my snake yellow. Do not buy.
CornSnake111 (verified owner) –
Dangerous for your animals because it’s dyed. As others have said, upon soaking the moss in water the water immediately turns green without ever completely washing out. Sphagnum moss should be brown, not green. Malicious product because the only indication it’s dyed is the “green” in the title, which is still very misleading.

Bought week ago still happy with this product great for holding humidity
