DESCRIPTION

This Top Paw Nylon Pinch Dog Collar is a wonderful heavy-duty training tool to help you achieve the behavior you desire in your dog. This easy-to-use collar is to be used when training with a leash, and distributes correction pressure to effectively teach your pup the right way to do things. Only at PetSmart.

Features:

  • Easy to use with buckle closure
  • Effective training device when fitted properly and with supervision
  • Distributes correction pressure evenly around dog&339;s neck
  • Easy adjustment with detachable links
  • Safety back-up collar included

    Includes: 1 Collar

    Intended For: Dogs

Leash Type: 1 Nylon Pinch Collar

    Dimensions 4.0 mm x 28 in (4.0 mm x 71.1 cm)

    Color: Black

  • Instructions:
For proper fit, remove links as necessary. To position over the dog’s head, open the buckle. This will allow you to more easily place over the dog’s head. Use caution so not to injure your dog’s face and eyes. Place the collar around your dog’s neck and refasten. To distribute the correct pressure properly, prongs should gently rest on the dog’s neck in the area right behind the dog’s ear and under the jaw line. Position collar so that the D-ring is on top. Attach to your leash. Place the nylon safety back-up collar over your dog’s head and position it below the prong collar. The back-up collar should be loose and have no tension during normal use. It will only become tight should the prong collar links become separated. The nylon safety back-up collar must be threaded through the metal rings so that it clinches like a collar.

    Caution:
Not for tie out. To be used when training with a leash.

    Warning:
If hooks (links) are not maintained, a loose hook (link) may allow the collar to separate. Frequent and proper maintenance is essential. Always consider the size and temperament of your dog while using this product.

Our trainer was out today and he used this collar for our dog. I went out and bought one but I’m not sure how to adjust the size. Can anyone help with this place? Maybe some pictures I wish a video was available 🙂 thank you so much in advance.

I bought this literally 15 minutes ago. Got home, put the collar on my dog and…GAME CHANGER! Once around the block to test it out and the pulling stopped instantly!!!!! I’m so excited that I can finally take her on walks with me!

Prong collars have limited applications. I generally dismissed them until a handler with a puller switched to this collar halfway through a training class with good effect. I use this collar when running with my dog which allows her to lead but not pull on my arm. The nylon covering stops observers from criticizing you in public. Please note, Pet Smart does not carry fursaver collars and their other constriction collars are rather limited.

I realize this collar is highly controversial, but honestly, it is not harmful at all especially when used correctly. Have an adult male lab who was not trained on leash, so he is an aggressive puller. I tried training him with treats, and stopping and circling every time he would start to pull. He just was not getting it. I got this collar as a means to get him to slow down, and it has worked wonders. He stays by my side and he is not constantly pulling on it. In fact, he doesn’t pull at all now. So therefore, the collar is not pinching on his neck ever. It’s just there if he needs a reminder, and he slows right back down. And once we’re back from our walk, I take it off.

I purchased this collar 1 week ago, I was terrified to put it on my dog.. but she is a pit. and so strong, I have been trying to walk her without her walking me, this is the ONLY thing that has slowed her down without hurting her. Within 1 week she walk’s right beside me. I LOVE this product!! thank you!

After my 140 lb mastiff yanked me off my feet and dragged me (felt like) 30 yards. I knew something had to be done. Off to petsupplycanada while he endured a timeout without his toys where I finally found the Perfect training collar. Does he think about mischief and rambunctious play (all the time) but a yank on the collar and a sharp command and he rethinks his behavior.

This collar has made our 80 lb. Marco much easier to control on walks in our neighborhood and local trails. He responds and reacts to the prong collar when we want to steer him away from aggressive dogs or people in close walking environments. A harness could not control him under the same circumstances.

I am so happy I bought this. I have a ridgeback lab mix who LOVES to pull. I’ve tried the no pull harness and it doesn’t work. I previously bought the solid chain. I found that it pinches my pup. This one goes on and off with ease. No pinching and keeps her from yanking my shoulder out of socket.

This updated version of the pinch collar is so nice. It lets you use a pinch collar without the stigma of the old collar. The new material on the outside obscures the working part of the collar so you can avoid all the condescending looks from people that do not understand pinch collars. It is very stylish and easy to get on and off with the convenient opening clip. I hope it becomes available in more colors soon.

We bought this collar for our 150 pound 2 year old English Mastiff who has moments of not listening and pulling excessively while on a leash. He pulled me to the ground a few weeks back but now walks gently after getting his new collar. Hated to do it but at 5’4” and him being so strong it was a must. Training is going well. We also decided to get one for our female who has her stubborn moments also.

I have a 2 very large puppies. A 9month old 100lb great dane puppy and a 8 month old 90lb great Pyrenees puppy. When they get horsing around playing outside with a regular herm sprenger, their nails somehow unhook the collar and bang , I have a loose puppy. I considered getting a martingale collar to go wit their current herm sprenger, and use both collars. The martingale as a backup. Til, I saw this amazing God sent collar. This is exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t care how much it was ,I would have bought it. Now neither can unlock each other’s collar omg. What an awesome idea. So super excited. Anything to keep my big fur babies safe. I love that in addition to a webbed collar outside of the prongs, there’s a backup collar to put around your dogs neck as a backup in case it ever detached. The webbed collar has a piece of velcro that goes around each prong to cover and protect where they connect to each other. Omg. So excited I found this collar!!! Best thing since sliced bread

I was hesitant to use a prong collar because of what you read about concerns for improper use. I tried a variety of other options but he just learned to pull a different way. It is not made to be yanked or pulled. This has made a world of difference for walks. 70lb dog does not pull at all anymore from pretty much the first walk with it. But again – used properly. No need to pull/tug/snap the leash. Four stars instead of five because the links do not always articulate smoothly. Sometimes they bind a bit.

Very helpful in training our new rescue dog to walk on a leash, especially around other people and dogs. We’ve only used it a little over a week and already see major improvement.

We recently adopted a HEAVY puller and this has drastically changed walking for us within the first walk. Definitely recommend and our pup wasn’t in pain but more so knew to stop the pulling action. Makes walking much more enjoyable for us all.

Got a few weeks ago after trying another nylon no pull collar but it did not stop the pulling of my very active 1 yr old terrier mix rescue! But this collar worked after 1 pull and he stopped! It was the best money I spent for our Dawson!

Cannot believe these types of collars are still being sold and people actually buy them. Extremely cruel and unnecessary. petsupplycanada please do better and stop selling these types of collars.

I think that this has been super helpful, we can go on walks without all of that pulling. When it feels uncomfortable he slows down a bit. Also I don’t use it every single time we walk.

I have a 110lb Dutch Sheppard that’s 10 months old…he pulls like a horse! Well not anymore he doesn’t! I use a halte with my pitty/terrier mix and it works wonderfully! My Sheppard is having NONE OF IT! Soooooooo….I decided to try one of these…and to my great surprise, IT WORKED

This prong collar definitely made a difference. I wish I would have used it sooner. Coupling it with obedience training really made a difference.

We have 3 large dogs and we’re trying to introduce a 4th that was a rescue so I got this as a last ditch effort for our dogs we already had that were not trained yet. Each dog has been trained by 2 weeks , and only 1 dog required it after week 1…im shocked it worked for our Husky and his temperament so that’s a WIN!

Our trainer was out today and he used this collar for our dog. I went out and bought one but I’m not sure how to adjust the size. Can anyone help with this place? Maybe some pictures I wish a video was available 🙂 thank you so much in advance.

Our dog pulls hard despite treat training. Got to the point that walking her was no longer enjoyable. This collar is a game changer. We love it and more importantly, the dog loves it.

After my 140 lb mastiff yanked me off my feet and dragged me (felt like) 30 yards. I knew something had to be done. Off to PETSMART while he endured a timeout without his toys where I finally found the Perfect training collar. Does he think about mischief and rambunctious play (all the time) but a yank on the collar and a sharp command and he rethinks his behavior.
