This tank is so amazing!!!!!! I keep my 8 leopard geckos in this tank and they love it so much. They love piling up in the corner for some reason, but I think that they enjoy it!! Sometimes they even wrestle with each other for food and space. SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!!! Anyway, this tank is the perfect size for up to 15 geckos maximum. WOULD BUY 10/10
jalie (verified owner) –
do NOT use the repti sand in the tank!!!! only use a coconut based bedding or a repti carpet or paper towels in the tank. the sand leopard geckos lick things and they will lick the sand and it will get in there stomach and sand don’t digest easily and it will feel there stomach up and they will die

This product doesn’t really contain anything needed for a leopard gecko. There is no heating pad, no thermostat, no hides, and the sand in it is dangerous for leopard geckos as it can lead to impaction. Also, a 10 gallon is only appropriate for babies, so you will quickly have to upgrade. I bought this before I did my research and essentially had to purchase an entirely new setup. Should not be advertised as being for leopard geckos.

Do NOT use cal I sand with leopard geckos IT WILL KILL THEM
LizTheLizard (verified owner) –
The tank itself is fine and it’s nice it came with the lights. You will still need to purchase a hide and new flooring as the sand can be dangerous for your gecko

Hi, I am not leopard gecko or reptile expert however, I have done plenty of research on how to ensure my Jasper lives her best life. I beg of you to avoid keeping your leopard gecko on sand, it can kill your lizard. When sand is ingested it can cause a condition called impaction which can be fatal. The easiest substrate to use is paper towels but, eco earth is also great. Leopard geckos also DO NOT need light. The best way to keep your pet warm is a heat pad. The heat lamps/UVs are meant for animals that need to bask and you will never catch a leopard gecko basking. These animals like it to be dark, they like to hide under rocks so, this light will stress them out. They will have a lot of difficulty getting settled in their new homes if there is tht much light. Also, water conditioner is not necessary. Just buy a 10 gal, substrate (paper towels/eco earth), temp gauge, heat pad, three hides, food/water dishes, crickets, mealworms, and wax worms/super worms if you’d like to throw them a treat. These animals are super easy to care for… that’s why I’m so confused as to how they got it this wrong lol. I paid just over 100 all together for everything my gecko needed, including food, So, spare yourself and your animal.

you never use sand as a substrate for any reptile as it may cause impaction and kill the animal, even for bearded dragons. the best substrate you should use is anything other than sand, repti carpet is a little bit better than sand because the only problem is the carpet is hard to clean and the animal can get their claws caught in the carpet fibers. you need to do your research and keep your animals healthy and never assume that a desert is all sand, for example leopard geckos live near pakistan. which is a desert but there is no sand and if you want more sales sell the right things for the animal and you would get better profits as well as the increase in the animals over all health

DO N O T BUY THIS, This comes with things that can kill and disrupt your leopard gecko. Using sand can cause impaction, this can KILL your gecko. Plus using the lights included can mess up their sleeping cycles.

This is not a good leopard gecko kit. First of all, sand is not a good substrate for them and can seriously harm a leopard gecko if they ingest it. Also, this tank is not good at all. A gecko shouldn’t be kept in this small of a tank after a few months. Cheaply made and very easy for animals to escape out of if there’s not weight on top. Had my leopard gecko escape and recently used this as a temporary tank for my baby kingsnake and he also shoved the lid just enough to escape. Do not recommend at all.

The sixty watt lamp came with a light bulb specifically made for the lamp. I’ve had this for about two weeks now and I suddenly start smelling something burning. I look over and sure enough, my lamp is smoking. More specifically, the light bulb was smoking.. Apparently light bulbs can melt and catch fire? That has never happened to me before in my life, except with this product. Now I’m terrified to even plug the lamp in to try a smaller watt bulb. Not to mention some of the products within this kit are dangerous for leopard geckos, but of course petsupplycanada employees are going to push the purchase of the product. I’m at a loss for words right now. Had I been asleep or absent from my home, it very well could’ve started a fire, killing my pets.

This product has issues and should be taken off the shelf. The tank is not firm and the glass is of poor quality along with the silicone calking that was used. The lid sucks badly, like it;s window frame material sucks. They add lights and bulb in here, and then add a poor quality tank and charge 100 for it. This tank is nowhere near 100 or even 120.This product should be taken off the shelf due to how bad it is.

i’m no expert on leos but i have recently become a leo parent and have done a LOT of research (for years) on leo care and some common things almost every caretaker says is DO NOT use sand as substrate as it can cause impaction leading to death, and it’s not recommended to use a red night light because the color can actually make it harder for them to see. leos are like cats, they can see just fine in near-total darkness. also they don’t seem to give you the dimensions on this tank but from just looking at it i would say it’s a 10-gallon, which is fine for a hatchling but as they get older/bigger you’re going to want to move up to at least a 20-gal. the only salvageable parts of this kit is the tank itself (if your leo is not full grown), the lamp dome, and maybe the water/food dishes. it’s shameful that not only a big corporation like petsupplycanada sells these proudly, but Zoo Med, a company *specifically* geared towards reptile care, can’t put a kit together to properly take care of a reptile. Do better.

Hello! For all the first time leopard gecko owners, this tank is okay to use. But the sand is horrible for your little leos, so I recommend using coconut fiber, if not just use paper towels. Also get at least two hides. If you want to put two leopard geckos in there, they have to be females. Want to know why? Look it up. And PLEASE do your research before buying a leo.

Literally the only thing worth using in this is the calcium, and maybe lamp along with a heating mat. Using sand as a substrate can cause so many health problems for you gecko, ESPECIALLY impaction, which results in death. They’re doing some kind of “buy this kit get a gecko on sale” price at my store, but in reality it won’t actually save you any money due to all the extra items you’ll have to buy for it to survive.
fols21 (verified owner) –
Lepard geckos should not be housed with sand substrate. It can cause many problems for the gecko in their digestive tract, such as impaction. Please do your research before taking a life into your hands

You don’t need the lights , doesn’t have a heat pad, And DON’T USE SAND. Sand can kill Leopard Geckos.

We bought this because it had everything we needed for our daughters new leopard gecko but once we got it home it was like one thing after another. We started setting it up just to find out the bottom of the tank has a huge crack. Then we went to put the lights on and the red bulb was broken. We live an hour away from petsupplycanada and they had already closed by the time we got home. It was just really frustrating to spend this much money on something just to get home and have many things be broken. We will be returning it ASAP.

My Juvenile Leopard Gecko loves the tank.. The problem is I had to buy a lot of the stuff that he has in his tank separate. The tank included ONE hide, leopard geckos require 1-3 hides, a warm and cold hide and a humid hide (optional). This tank does not include a heat pad which is very upsetting because leopard geckos cannot digest their food properly without a heat-mat, as they digest their food through their bellies. The substrate it comes with is CALICUM sand, which is very sad. It can and most likely will cause an impaction. Impactions will most definitely kill your gecko. I recommend Eco-Earth, Ceramic Tile etc. Everything else in the tank is perfect. If any of this surprised you, PLEASE do your research before you go out and buy one.

I have my ONE leopard gecko in this habitat. You should only keep one or two leopard geckos in this tank ( dont listen to people who say you can have more ). Also be aware that this comes with no plants or hide ( you should keep some money to buy the extra supplies )for people who complain about this than maybe you should have read the description!! Besides, I love how it comes with pretty much everything you need.
Jenna26 (verified owner) –
If it didn’t advertise this with a lie saying this is all you need for your gecko it would be an okish starter kit. You should use a heating pad not light and sand isn’t good for them since they can eat it and get impacted (backed up in their body and not pass through them) and die. You also need hides and a moist hide to help them shed so they don’t lose a toe with bad sheds. Please do a lot more research if you’re under the impression and believe this is a great complete kit for your new pets sake. You want a happy healthy thriving pet.

I bought this in July and my gecko loves it soo much
Sydney1w3 (verified owner) –
Versus giving this kit a one star I gave two because they do come with some things leopard geckos need, like the calcium, but the tank is too small. They also need a heat mat, they don’t bask, take it from my experience, mine always hides during the day, so basking is not an option for any leopard geckos. Sand is really bad for any reptile, sand can and will cause impaction in leopard geckos. If you have never seen the behavior of a leopard gecko, then you don’t know how much they lick things, so even just licking the air will draw in sand to their mouths and stomach. I just ask you to do your research before getting any animal.
Chelli911 (verified owner) –
Fine sand should not be used as a substrate for leopard geckos, as they will instinctively ingest it and suffer a bowel impaction – by the time you notice your Leo is impacted, it’s usually too late to save them.
jasmine98 (verified owner) –
Please don’t get this for your leopard gecko. This is a horrible set up.
Blake751 (verified owner) –
I bought this in July and still in great shape it’s the best starter kit
SparklyQueen (verified owner) –
I am disappointed they don’t even live in the desert. They need three different substrates not including sand and there is not heating mat! Dissatisfied.

I couldn’t have asked for a better tank. It is my geckos paradise
Beedle4 (verified owner) –
First the sand us an absolute no go for a young leopard gecko, can cause impaction problems. That unfortunately often lead to death! Leopard Geckos also need belly heat, not basking heat. The included lamps burnt our poor new pet. This also does not include any hide at all. And three hides are recommend. Dry, warm, and humid. So after we arrived home I had to run out and spend allot more money on needed items. Under tank heater, non loose suslbstrate, a hide, and a non heat producing light. I’m extremely upset, and disappointed in both ZooMed, and petsupplycanada. For producing/packaging a dangerous kit, and them for pushing it to uneducated customers. I contacted ZooMed with my concerns and they honestly didn’t seem to care too much. Saying it’s only a starter kit. Yet the package, and there own website state “The ReptiHabitatâ„¢ Leopard Gecko Kit includes everything you need for your Leopard or African Fat-Tail Gecko. This 10 gallon terrarium kit takes the guess work out of setting up the proper habitat for desert geckos.” They did send me a “hubba hut” at no charge. But it doesn’t fix the main issue, all else they had to say was we got you started, sorry your not happy.

I’m new to being a leopard gecko owner and I bought this and it has worked great so far nothing was broken and my little buddy Dune is loving his new home. Just need to get him some more decor.
TheEquinox (verified owner) –
This LEOPARD GECKO starter kit does NOT come with a SINGLE hide or heat pad, 2 Essential things in a leopard geckos life! when i took my leo home with this kit, we ended up having to make a hide out of an empty superworm container because, instead of even one hide, it came with water conditioner!
Paytonisnothear (verified owner) –
The only things you can really use or are the food dish and repti safe, other then that the rest of the stuff is junk. IT DOESNT EVEN COME WITH HIDES! And the lighting for it is red and blue lights witch are bad for ANY reptile. And don’t even get me started on the calcium sand NEVER USE CALCIUM SAND IT IS HORRIBLE! Pls don’t buy this product for any reptile just buy a normal 10 gallon, even a 20 gallon would be cheaper then this trashy kit you can probably buy everything for the leopard gecko and it turn out cheaper than this kit. So yha you get my point just don’t buy this.
GeckoMama20 (verified owner) –
After carefully reading the reviews and doing research on everything a leopard gecko needs, THIS IS NOT IT!! Please please please if you are buying a leopard gecko for the first time do your research and read comments before buying products. I am so glad I did because I could’ve bought this and been completely screwed over. I would never want to burn my gecko or put a juvenile on sand, last thing you want to do is harm your new pet, so please read and please do not get this kit, if you do then beware that you are going to need to buy much more than this kit offers and replace the light. Also a ten gallon tank is not big enough for a growing gecko, just start off big and save the trouble of having to get a new one especially if you want to put two female geckos together that have been together before and that’s it
Blake123 (verified owner) –
I bought this a month ago I love it so much my leopard gecko loves this he will eventually need a bigger one but this one is still great

Do not get this for a leopard gecko. Sand is not a good substrate for them. Buy this if you’re getting a Kenyan sand boa or a Hognose snake. But you would have to get a heading pad and aspen extra for a hognose and sand boa. I recommend it for a Kenyan sand boa because it comes with sand.
