I was using aspen for my snake and I switched to this when I saw it. It is easy to use. When there is a mess, it is easy to clean. The carpet looks a lot cleaner then the aspen.

I used this for my Chinese Water Dragon because she was too small to put on repti-bark or anything without fear of her eating it. It’s easy to clean and everything (you can see the poo much easier than on dirt), but the hardest part was keeping the humidity up since it would get wet constantly with me spraying the cage. Eventually I took it out and replaced it with Coco husk. I would totally recommend this, though, for a baby leopard gecko or bearded dragon (even a mali uromastyx, he won’t be able though since he can’t burrow) until they get bigger so they can’t eat it. Good buy! I just bought the tan one again for my bearded dragon tank. Easy to cut and setup. Also easy to clean–just pull it out, wipe it off with a broom or wash it in the tub if you have a lot of it (which I do since my tank is 40 gallons). Would recommend to anyone! Make sure to weigh down the edges, though, when setting up the tank to make sure crickets can’t get underneath it and hide.

I use this reptile carpet for my leopard geckos, because they need some type of substrate because I use under tank heating pads, and because nothing else works as well. Sand, coconut coir and other loose substrates are a no-no due to impaction from eating it while catching prey. Tiles work well also, but are non-absorbent, heavy, bulky and can be difficult to remove from the cage. Reptile carpet is light, easy to change out, easy to clean (I machine wash on gentle) and inexpensive. Just make sure to get two per tank so you can switch them out quickly.

I just got the eco carpet 2 days ago, and my leopard gecko looks super comfy and happy on it! 🙂 It is a great substrate because your reptile can not accidentally eat the substrate or get impacted when you are feeding your lizard on the carpet! It looks very nice in the terrarium, and I would definitely recommend this for a leopard gecko or a bearded dragon. Overall it is a great substrate. 🙂 I hope that helps!

We use this product for our beardies. It vacuums up nicely and is washable. After washed a couple of times it looses a bit of structure and does not lay as nice but it still holds up well.

I bought this reptile carpet for my baby bearded dragons and my leopard gecko. It’s much safer than sand or other loose substrates because they can’t swallow it and get impacted. It is also easy to clean.
AnimalMomma (verified owner) –
I used this while my gecko was a baby because you shouldn’t use sand with baby reptiles due to them accidentally ingesting it. Once my gecko got big and old enough I switched her to calcium sand. It worked alright but I ended it switching back to this carpet. It works so well, is well priced and is safe. You can even wash it and reuse it. It’s definitely the best substrate!

I purchased a 50 Gallon sized tan mat for my Leapord Gecko’s 20 gallon tank. I wanted to make sure I had enough for an extra mat just incase, as it was cheaper that way. Good thing I did, as my boyfriend decided to buy a Leapord Gecko shortly after. First off, I find that the tan color really added to our gecko’s terrariums, as it matches all the desert decor we have for them. Second, these are SO easy to clean – Throw them in he washer with an all natural detergant on a gentle cycle, you can wash them in the sink with the solution thats recommended on the box, or outside with the hose and same solution. Our geckos love curling up all in the mat to sleep and they get amazing traction when hunting down thier crickets. Best of all – There’s no worry about impact from them ingesting the sand. I also loved the fact that the company uses recycled materials to make these mats and if you contact them, they will send you a free lighting guide. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!

I’ve this for about 6 months now for my bearded dragon. It serves its purpose as a carpet, the texture is nice for lizards to latch their claws onto, its washable, its durable. The only problem is is that its kinda a pain in the butt to keep clean. Between lizard waste and vitamin powers and shredded skin, it gets dirty and unsanitary quite fast. So unless you want to spot clean it every couple days and then wash it every week to keep it clean and sanitary, then I wouldn’t recommend it. A couple days ago I went ahead and bought some vinyl tile for my viv. It works a lot better and it’s much more sanitary. Nothing against the product, it’s well made, this is just my preference.

Tip: When they list the sizes saying one is made for 50 gallons, or 29 to 30, believe them. I have a 29 to 30 gallon tank, and bought the 50 gallon carpet just be sure it would fit, I practically have another carpet left to cut off and use! So if you don’t want any extra carpet, listen to the sizing info. Otherwise, always get the 50 gallon. Great product!

I just bought a new little leopard gecko and he came with this carpet in the green for 10 gallon tanks. It doesnt quite fit but i fixed it by cutting a bit off of the end. Anyways this is the best deal out there. It can last over two years with proper care! All you have to do is brush the stuff off of the carpet in warm water. Just hold the carpet upright and the water will drain out. I just bought a 180 gallon breeder for my beardie and it would cost over $100 to fill it with sand! I will be getting these reptile carpets for him too!

im a fan of bark, i love the way it looks and i make sure all pieces are too big to fit in our reps mouth BUT rep carpet is the safest and main focal point should be on health of your rep. Our solution for no crickets under, we buy self adhesive Velcro and sew on velcro. 1 way is put the self adhesive velcro around the edge of your tank and carpet and press down. you can still remove to wash but since the velcro goes all the way around, crickets cant get under it (better if your heating pad is not directly under) or the way we do it, self adhesive on the glass and we sew in the velcro on the carpet so it doesnt come off in the washing machine. If you hand wash it you wont have to worry about it. plus this helps so the carpet doesnt curl. hope this helps some of you 🙂

i have a 2 year old bearded drago and I prefer this product over sand. the reason why I prefer this is when you use sand for a reptile, it cuases many problems for that reptile, for a example impaction, impaction happens when something blocks the digestive tract, but with this carpet you wont have to worry about sand getting into your reptiles eye or they accidentally eat the sand while trying to get their food. lastly it easy to clean with the carpet all you got to do is pick it up throw it in the washer and while the carpet is getting cleaned, clean the rest of the tank and when your done you get more time to play games with your reptile. 100% you wont regret getting this instead of sand.

Sand and Carpet is both the same mostly. But there some differences like, the carpet is easier to clean sometime, I think and it looks more clean in the cage and you can reuse it over and over again. Sand is really hard to clean and it looks messy but good price . And my beardie Nathaniel, seems to like it better to

I love using eco-carpet for my Irian Jaya Carpet Python. It’s easy to clean, but hard to make it flat. I can never get it flat. I sill just love this product.

This is a great product for any reptile. It’s a safe substrate for juveniles and babies, and is easy to feed on. I suggest this product to anyone new to reptiles, seeing as it’s easy to clean and maintain.

I had a green one I used for my gecko. Works great and easy to clean. It was 30 gallon so I cut it in half and could switch out pieces for a tank clean. I’m hoping brown is a bit more natural for a reptile.

Was extremely easy to cut and size to my gecko’s habitat and despite the description saying to air dry it, I put it in my dryer and it came out spotless and undamaged.

this carpet substrate is more hassle than anything. kept baby beardies on it with nothing but trouble. nails get stuckin tiny fiber loops of carpet. teeth get stuck when animals try to eat. smells terrible once poo’d on and molds fast when misted ( if used for tropical geckos like cresteds or anoles)

I bought the brown reptile carpet for my gecko’s tank and it is a great substrate. Very easy to clean, safe for your reptile (which is the most important thing), and is durable. Great product.

I purchase this for my leopard gecko. This is the perfect and safest substrate you can possibly get and not to mention how good it looks in the tank in Dark Green. It is reusable and much flatter with the more washes. I wash it once a month with warm water. Good product get it!!

I recently bought this for my leopard gecko, pascal, and we LOVE it. It looks nice in the tank and it cant cause impaction.

I bought this for my leopard gecko, hearing it was really easy to clean. What I was hearing was right. It looks awesome, is soft, totally easy to clean, and is the best carpet ever!

I use 2 sided tape underneath the carpet to keep it flat.
My gecko’s claws and teeth get caught sometimes but no big deal. Considering all the other options for a ground flooring cover, this carpet is the most practical.

i have a 2 year old bearded drago and I prefer this product over sand. the reason why I prefer this is when you use sand for a reptile, it cuases many problems for that reptile, for a example impaction, impaction happens when something blocks the digestive tract, but with this carpet you wont have to worry about sand getting into your reptiles eye or they accidentally eat the sand while trying to get their food. lastly it easy to clean with the carpet all you got to do is pick it up throw it in the washer and while the carpet is getting cleaned, clean the rest of the tank and when your done you get more time to play games with your reptile. 100% you wont regret getting this instead of sand.

It very nice.

I use these mats for my leopard geckos. In previous years I used newspaper or paper towel, but these mats allow the geckos some traction as they chase their food.
