I’ve been feeding halo vegan dog food to my dog now for 6 years. He loves it and is super healthy. I also supplement his diet with cooked veggies, sweet potato, fresh fruits and occasionally peanut butter, tahini.. ect. He also eats plaqueoff vegan seaweed infused healthy bones. But this canned formula is complete and very good quality! I highly recommend! Recommends this product

I find that every case I purchase, the quality varies. Some cans will be perfect, others too soft and watery, some have been over cooked with hard and burnt like chunks and some cans the food is too dry. I only buy it, as the choices are limited for dogs that need to follow a vegetarian diet.

I bought both the dry and soft food. Too bad it looks like petsupplycanada doesn’t sell the dry anymore. My dog loved both and he is a picky eater. Also, just a week after switching to the halo food, the stains running down from his eyes disappeared and his fur felt so much softer. My friend switched her dog and had the same experience with the eye stains disappearing and fur being softer. I love that the ingredients are actual foods not unrecognizable chemicals that you see in other foods.

Around 5-6 months ago my 2.5 year old german shepherd mix developed horrible diarrhea and after months of testing and unsuccessful treatments including antibiotics, anti-parasitics, probiotics and GI prescription diets he was changed to a hydrolyzed soy protein diet. His diarrhea stopped within 24 hours. Our Vet said that he likely has a animal protein allergy and recommended we continue on the soy protein diet, possibly indefinitely. He is a VERY picky eater and does not always eat regularly-especially with the prescription diet. He also prefers kibble to canned food. I only bought 2 cans of this food on our first trip to petsupplycanada because my expectations that he would actually it eat were that low. For his next meal I put about an ounce on top of his food and he gobbled it up! The next day he did the same! I’m amazed he loves this vegan food as he often turns his nose up to treats that are not meat-based. I am also very excited to say his stomach has tolerated this so far! No diarrhea. Would definitely recommend.

I started buying Halo when my dog was found to be allergic to all animal protein. We started with the large can and then decided to try the smaller 5.5 can. The 5.5 cans are so convenient, but have hard to come by for some reason. Hope they become more readily available in the near future.
