I have had mine for months and it works great. I have seen reviews where people have said it lasted a month or less. Issues like this arise usually when ones dome is old, not the correct wattage or home is receiving electricity surges. Using a new dome, on a surge protector for my lights, I have never had issues.

Title says it all. I know reptile lamps don’t last forever but this is ridiculous. Worked great for the month it actually turned on, but it doesn’t make sense to have to replace a light every month.

Tina was so happy to get her bright light back in her home.
Sandedra (verified owner) –
Had it for a week, and then it just stopped working. It’s in a quality fixture rated to well above the wattage, it’s plugged into a surge protector, there’s NO REASON for it to stop working that quickly
Dragonguy (verified owner) –
Bought 2 at the same time and started using both at the same time, one burnt out in less than a month.
Julianac (verified owner) –
The product works great we needed it in a pinch and it works great

One of the few heat/flood lights still available on the market.

The bulb lasted two days and then the filament burned out.

I bought this for my gecko’s 40 gallon terrarium. I checked the temperature & it was 90 degrees, perfect!!

I bought this to keep baby beardy nice and warm. It’s hottest basking area was 115 for the first 2 days, 8 inchs directly below bulb. We are now on day 5 and already down to 105 at the most intense basking area. I was really hoping for this halogen bulb too. Going to have to switch to incandescent for now, this bulb will do well when beardy is a little older. My lamp is rated up to 600w btw.

Absolutely amazing it is great just what I was looking for. I got the hundred watt for $20 and I also paired it up with the deep heat projector. They recommend that combo Arcadia recommends that you pair those two up but for about a month I was just using, the 100 watt it worked awesome 105 Fahrenheit to 110 excellent I love Arcadia products. I’m glad they care so much about reptiles just as much as I do about my reptiles it’s truly perfection. I recommend it for everyone.

I bought this bulb a month ago because Arcadia is supposed to be a good company and halogen bulbs are supposed to last a long time. I was surprised when the bulb busted within a month. I was further suprised to take a good look at the bulb and find Zoo Med printed on the side. It doesn’t even look like an Arcadia halogen bulb. I bought two other basking bulbs in Arcadia boxes at the same time and noticed immediately that they had Thrive printed on the side when I pulled them out of the box. What are you doing, petsupplycanada? Why are you putting other companies’ products into Arcadia boxes?

I run the bulb on a dimming thermostat for 12 hours a day. The bulb stopped working after a week.

I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews about arcadia. And I was excited to see that this brand was at petsupplycanada. I bought the 100w halogen and I worked really well. It’s been 3 weeks and it’s already lost heat. My Temps for my tegus basking spot was 125. Now it’s barely reaching 100. I was going to by the t5 pro kit( if it ever gets in!) But now I’m a little iffy on it. I actually had to switch over to my zoo med 150w to get the basking area up to 125. And zoo med sucks, sooooo…..

I stand by the stuff that Arcadia makes, and I had this specific heat bulb recommended to me by multiple reptile husbandry groups. However… I encountered several issues. The first halogen I got burned out a full month before its expected lifespan. I only had it for 5 months. I got the highest wattage offered (100W) and it never reached the advertised temps in the enclosure, barely hitting 91°F at full power using a thermostat. I felt like I was on a wild goose chase trying to find a fixture that would fit the bulb and was rated for at least 100 watts. The dome that Arcadia has for it is WAY oversized. Other than that, I actually like this bulb and it works as intended. I noticed an immediate difference in my reptile and he really enjoys basking under the heat in the daytime. I’ll keep using this halogen because it’s the only vetted option I have, but I really expected better from this brand.

Replaced prior light for my gecko. He’s happy again.

The light seems to be well made. Feels solid when you pick it up. It is a very close fit to the inside of the Thrive dome light. You have to gently push and turn the light into the socket. You won’t be able to get your fingers around the outside of the bulb when you install it. The light puts out a decent amount of light. Our Russian box tortoise loves it! It’s been 3 weeks and it’s still working, I’m hoping it will last a long time. Time will tell!
I tried two other bulbs and was very disappointed with the,
The first was made by Thrive, I got 3 days out of the first bulb and maybe 2 weeks out of the second one.
The second bulb was made by Zoo Med, I got about two weeks out of each bulb.

Having bad experiences with other reptile branded bulbs I avoid them as much as possible and just use regular hardware store bulbs. But Arcadia is a good quality brand and the bulbs cost about the same as the hardware store alternative. The good thing I can say about Arcadia is that they provide higher wattage options than hardware brands. Arcadia I recommend. Other brands. Nah.

Bought a month ish ago and this is the second one. It was great at first then it went out yesterday. I thought the first one was just a fluke but this one gave out about the same time as the first one.

I bought this nine months ago. It works amazingly perfect. Keeps his temperature in a huge basking area. Perfect for my bearded dragon my 120 gallon tank works perfectly. It’s dimmable. I use a EXO terra thermostat the best I’ve ever used. I recommend it to everyone super high-quality friend of mine has had his for two years. He paid a lot more than I did. I ordered it from Europe do you want to save bacon not go through a bunch of bulbs. This is the way to do it. It’s amazing love it.

Was fine while it worked. Went out after a month though. Going to try a standard flood light next – at least they are only $4 each so won’t feel so bad if I have to replace every month compared to the Arcadia bulb and 4x the price.

Before I purchased this light, I looked at other lights, read the reviews and when I read people saying the bulbs went out in hours, days or weeks I took it with a grain of salt. I decided on Arcadia for several things over the past week and I must say, I’ve run into a few issues, and this is one of them. The point is, the burn-out of lights in hours, days, or weeks is real and I guess happens to the best of them… I guess I recommend since so many love this brand but I have not had a good start

Bought this bulb for my bearded dragon. I find the quality great for the price. Love the bulb, will buy again.
Jbonewisco (verified owner) –
High quality basking lamp with a tight beam. The amount of heat generated I would compare to a 100w ‘regular’ basking bulb, although the spread of the heat is relatively low due to the tight beam. One side note that isn’t widely broadcasted is that the 100w arcadia halogen will not fit into their protective cages (used when mounting the lights on the ceiling of an enclosure). The 75w version will fit into these cages nicely.

I have bought 2 of these lights and they have both burnt out very quickly

Does not turn on. Bought 50watt. Have tried it in two different fixtures, one with 120watt max and one with 100watt max, will not turn on in either fixture.
