Started buying this because it was comparable to a previous food my dog was eating. I had moved and there wasn’t a store that carried is old food, so I started getting this instead. Unfortunately, my dog developed a contact allergy to this and would itch his chin tremendously every time after he ate. I noticed he had a lot of inflamed red bumps in the area.

On my third bag for my Doberman. He had been battling skin itch for a long time. After three rounds of pills from the vet and probably at least 18 different dog topicals, I decided to try three things; change his kibble, eliminate dairy and use one of my old horse meds on the sores he would not leave alone. The horse med is Dr. Naylor’s Blu-Kote. Miraculously his skin is clearing and he is no longer itching. Because there are three variables here it is hard to credit any one alone, but I am staying with this kibble!

When my dog was under a year old he had horrible stomach and skin problems. Found out he has many protein allergies from chicken, beef, duck and venison. We found the purina salmon for skin and stomach fixed the issues. Fast forward roughly two years and the price majorly increased and he started to have skin issues( I assume something changed in the food). I found this and gave it a try and for the past year he has been doing great. Very glad they offer this large breed formula too.

I’ve done so much research for my pitty. Cheap chicken mill or byproduct makes my baby break out with horrible ear infections, rashes and just discomfort. I switched his food multiple times and authority sensitive skin and stomach just dose it for him. It’s been roughly four years and all of his issues have gone away. Paying a little more for food cost a lot less than vets guessing and checking then paying hundreds of dollars with no resolution.

My collie can’t eat chicken and chicken hides in so many doggie edibles. This has only salmon and does not have bunches of plant proteins hiding in it. It used to have so many crumbs that it seemed like half the bag was powder. Happily, petsupplycanada has addressed that problem without changing the food characteristics that make it so good for sensitive digestive tracks. A 34 pound bag lasts about a month feeding 2.5 cups per day. My dog likes it just fine. I recommend it to folks looking for single protein kibble. Good price.

We decided to try a cheaper food for our lab. He got a really bad yeast infection in his ears and we did everything to help heal it. We recently took him off of authority and his yeast infection is completely gone. I saw another comment saying this food gave her dog an ear infection as well.

My dog suffers from food allergies and has been on this diet for around two years. But they recently changed the recipe or process of making it and it caused her to get an ear infection. You shouldn’t change anything about sensitive diets. Will no longer be using any Authority product.

My collie can’t eat chicken and chicken hides in so many doggie edibles. This has only salmon and does not have bunches of plant proteins hiding in it. It used to have so many crumbs that it seemed like half the bag was powder. Happily, petsupplycanada has addressed that problem without changing the food characteristics that make it so good for sensitive digestive tracks. A 34 pound bag lasts about a month feeding 2.5 cups per day. My dog likes it just fine. I recommend it to folks looking for single protein kibble. Good price.

Just switched from chicken to salmon as my pup has seasonal allergies and anything that helps his skin is good by me. He seems to love it and I think with how much it stinks (because fish) he likes it even more.

I researched and switched to Authority Sensitive Stomach + Skin All Life Stages after a bad experience with another brand. Every summer in the past my older male lab contracted severe skin infections and ear infections. Since switching foods, this summer there are no issues. Plus I recommended it to the pups of my litter when they went to their new homes. All but 2 of 10 are using this food.
