I bought this a week ago for our Great Dane/mastiff, 4 times less than a block from our house our dog was able to get it off his nose even with several adjustments. It would work if it was attached on both sides and there was no way for them to slip out of it

I bought one in April for my Australian Shepard puppy. She was pulling so badly with a regular collar. We have used the Gentle Leader since then and it improves her walking so much! It’s been a over a month and we have read the instructions/re-fit it a bunch of times but she still flops on people’s lawns every so often to rub her face. Overall it has made our walks so much more enjoyable!

I have used this item in the past with other dogs to great success! However, I most recently used it to help train my new dog. He is an ex-sled dog, and very focused on pulling. He has figured out how to slip out of this with ease that is amazing, and if for some reason, he can’t get it off in time, he resorts to pulling so hard he hurts his face sometimes. As such, I will not continue using this product and wouldn’t recommend it for dogs with more than mild behaviour problems.

I bought this awhile ago and it doesn’t work well I was disappointed the dog can slip right out of it because it doesn’t have an auto tighten feature and when I tried to set it tight the metal clip looked painful for my puppy. I have purchased better ones in the past that actually work.

I have a 5 mon old bermadoodle and I know when she is fully grow she will be able to ‘walk’ me. So I bought this gentle leader and started to train her on it. It works great snd is very easy to put on. Frankie didn’t like it at first but caught on to it pretty quickly. .walking was the toughest after trying to teach our Germain shepard how to walk on a leash. We even tried caesar Milan trainjng leash…but we didn’t like the *noose* style. The staff was nice and let me try this on 22lb. PomXchi while in store. It would have been great, but no amount of adjustments stopped the nose part from going into his eyes. If he had a different size/shaped head, it would work. I would recommend trying in store as it would work great for dogs that can wear it comfortably?

It’s the best tool in the world but you need to be patient and show your dog to love it with lots of treats and patience. But after a while and yes a few attempts to take it off my dog learned that Boeing a good walker means more and longer walks. I used this for 8-9 years with my Aussie almost every day and it still works. Very durable. Now I am using it with my golden retriever puppy and it’s still works like a charm. No pulling and enjoyable walks. I will soon need a larger one but our first gentle leader is still in new condition. I just wish it would be a bit cheaper but then again, it was a game changer.

The gentle leader works!! It takes awhile to condition your dog to wearing it but be patient with it and you will be happy you did. I can control my 90lb reactive dog with one hand!! I recommend this to anyone having problems with pulling or lunging on walks. Before purchasing this I tried many different “no pull” harnesses and they did next to nothing. However, that being said, it must be noted that training is absolutely essential to success with this or any other product. Do your research, condition it properly, and be consistent! Good luck.

I have tried several different types of harnesses, and this one finally works! My dog hated and fought with the Halti brand lead, and chest harnesses just gave 90 pounds of labrador more leverage to pull myself about. We bought this as a spare for the one we already have.My wife has used this for a number of years.She started to use it for our previous dog who had been a rescue. The dog had been physicaly and mentally abused and had suffered a throat injury so a convential lease and collar was out of the question. I have a 60 lb 2 year old goldendoodle. He can pull very hard and has tried to get voles on the trails I walk on and they are very slow. I just pull his head up. A choke collar doesn’t work and obviously could hurt the dog. I just bought a second one as my first one was getting a little frayed at one part. He hates putting it on so I throw a treat in the corner by the front door and block him until it is on. Once it is on he is ok with it and does not try to get it off.
