Research about most of the ingredients in it and see if your satisfied but I think the food has too much sodium for dogs, grain free can cause a heart disease called DCM, there are too many fillers trying to replace the grain that will not do anything for the dog, and I don’t think any dog will get enough protein and nutrients from this food. Our Border Terrier loves Nature’s Variety Instinct kibble (with the exception of salmon; she will not eat raw tuna or any seafood.) We love that the protein is derived from real meat, and the additional ingredients include fruits and veggies, pumpkin seed, Omega 3s, and more.

My Australian Cattle Dog has a really sensitive stomach. His first year, I spent trying out different foods to figure out which one wouldn’t make him sick. And as most dog owners know, this isn’t a quick process considering you have to slowly integrate the new food into their diets. I have two mini schnauzers, one senior male with diabetes and a 4 yr old female with a picky pallet and allergies. I have tried many grain free and holistic foods when I decided to try this one. I set out to look for a grain free food to feed our 10 year old Australian Cattle dog who had vomiting issues. I tried another food, and then found that the food I was using was owed by a major brand that has had several recalls. He has become extremely emaciated because i just can’t get him to eat anything but raw and raw is not within the budget at the moment. So I was feeding him other high quality kibbles. Tried everything. Even origen and Acana. Which are much more expensive. And nothing seemed to coax him to eat. Vet said he was healthy, just a picky eater. Sometimes he went days without touching his bowl and I would have to make him a homemade meal or just give him a pound of raw meat for fear his health would take a downturn if he didn’t eat something. Everyone who would touch him would say wow, he is so skinny don’t you feed him? And I would explain that he has food available at all times, but chooses not to eat. Anyone who have had huskies know they can be incredibly picky eaters. Nature’s variety instinct kibble is the best food I have ever found. I’v been feeding Instinct to my dogs for a number of months, In general they like the food and the nugget size is great as it can be fed to both small and large dogs. I find it to be a quality product, I like the use of the raw freeze dried ingredients but I have one complaint. The Chicken and the Beef are the only proteins I can feed my dogs as the other options have Canola oil in the ingredients. Canola oil is a GMO product, full of pesticides in general and highly processed. If it weren’t gor that one ingredient the foods would be perfect. The company should seriously consider replacing that oil with a healthier option.

My husky Raven absolutely loves this dog food! Raven is a runner, she runs with both my husband and myself almost every day. Between both runs, she can average 12 miles or more, so I have always tried to find a dog food that was both grain free and high in crude protein. I have bought several expensive dog foods in the past, having the same results with all of them…Raven would barley eat them. At first I thought maybe it was because, as I had read, huskies are just picky dogs. My two Cane Corsos Mila and King Apollo have been on this food for 6 months. I have tried every other average and ultra premium brands and none compare to Nature’s Variety Instinct. It is very high in protein needed for large breed puppies’ muscle growth, low in fat and carbs. While on other foods, they suffered allergies, skin issues, diarrhea, bloating and excessive room clearing, eyes tearing flatulence.All this symptoms have subsided and they are doing very well. It has adequate Calcium and Phosphorus levels for bone growth and silica whichs aids in controlling upset stomach and loose stools. Apollo is just over 14 months and weights 120 lbs and is very lean. Mila is 15 months and just over 90 lbs and lean as well. They have plenty of energy and stamina. I completely recommend this food especially for large and giant breeds.

I’ve had my rescue dog on this food for over 2 years now. When she came to me she was puggy and had a hard time running. Currently she runs like a deer,has fur that is soft and shiny, and never has any digestive problems. She is eager to eat at dinner time. I have no plans on changing brands.

When our PWD transferred over to adult food a few months ago, I did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions to other PWD owners. After all the research around nutritional values and asking around to what other owners recommended, we agreed to try Instinct, and have been very happy ever since. Our dog is happy, healthy, eating less kibble and maintaining a healthy weight. Love it!

Well it isn’t as much how I feel about the product as it is how Mims feels about it. She will sniff other dog food and turn her nose up until she gets what she wants – the Instinct – then she will eat.

My dog has always been a fussy eater…. eating a small amount and leaving the rest until I tossed it out. Then he developed seizures and the vet thought it was from low blood sugar. Starchy foods were not helping his sugar stabilization, so I switched to Original Instinct chicken. Not only does he enjoy it because he eats it all up when fed, but he has not had any seizures (with medication as well) and is doing so well. In fact, he enjoys it so much that I am going through much more kibble than I ever did before!

I purchased instinct grain free kibble to use as a replacement for raw while traveling on hunting trips. My Toller loves it and the transition from raw to the kibble was easy.. No reactions, runny eyes, etc. Great Food.

I have been purchasing Instinct for over 10 years. Started out because my chow chow was having skin and hair problems. She loved every flavor. As years go by I have never purchased another brand. All our dogs love the flavor and variety, but I think there favorite is the chicken or the turkey. Over the years I have fed all our dogs from birth Nature’s Variety and they have done really well, not health problems, skin problems ect. Love it and have even turned friends and family on ti it!

My little girl gets bored with her food fairly quickly. I want to keep her diet pretty close to what she would eat out in the wild. I switched her over to nature’s variety when Innova was having all its recalls and she failed to enjoy eating Wellness. Surprisingly, even though it was the same flavor as the other dog food she had been eating before, she ate this right up! I have a choice of up to 5 different flavors and even though I end up paying more per pound for nature’s variety, i actually end up paying less because I don’t have to feed her as much since it’s more nutrient dense. Not only does she like it better, but I also noticed how much more soft and shiny her coat was. While hiking in the mountains you could tell a noticeable difference in how much more energy she has. This is a food I’m sure I’ll be buying for a long time to come.

We started our puppy (mini schnauzer) on Orijen puppy and although he loved the food, it made him gassy, bloated and with very soft stool. As soon as we switched to Natural Variety those problems went away and his coat is softer! He also has very white teeth and loves the taste! Highly recommend.

We have been buying Instinct for several years ever since our Miniature Schnazuer was a puppy. We chose it because of its high protein % and grain-free formula upon the recommendation of a holistic vet. It helped immediately with her constant scrounging around for tidbits of anything to eat on the floor — including things that were inedible like dog hair from her big brother! It fills her up (we feed her twice a day) and she is much less inclined to be a scavenger.

I am extremely happy with this dog food. It is not only great for dogs it is also great for Ferret’s as well. As an owner of four dogs and four ferrets this food has helped them not only stay feed, but also healthy. Ferrets can not have the grain and need high protein. This is the main reason I buy this food for my ferrets. They live longer because the food helps them stay healthy and is very high quality food. I would recommend this food to any pet owner of either ferrets, cats, or dogs.

My Boxer was diagnosed with Cushings Disease. I immediately switched her to Instinct. Vet said we would be lucky to have her for a couple of months. I truly believe that Instinct led us to enjoy her for an extra year and a half. Hats off to your company. You made our baby healthier then she could have been for that much longer. Our 13 year old rescue dog has a very sensitive stomach. Ever since he has been fed Natures Variety, there have been no digestive upsets.His coat became more shiny a he had more vigor. We started feeding him Prarie a few years ago and have now switched to Instinct. Also, we recently adopted a young dog from the humane society, that loves Natures Variety as well.
