Overall, she wasn’t wild about the new dog food. So we ended up switching her back to her regular dog food. However, I do have to note that the Nulo didn’t bother her digestive system or skin. So I think it was just a matter of my dog’s preference. The kibble was pretty standard being a dark brown with no real scent. Would I buy again, yes; but only if I couldn’t get her regular dog food.

I have a corgi, golden retriever, and a German Shepard. They are all under 2 years old and haven’t had many problems with food in the past but sadly this food was awful.
They were happily eating the food for over a month but when I came home with a new bag my German Shepard had awful diarrhea for one day, unfortunately it was Sunday so the vet was closed & we planned to take her that Monday. Monday morning comes and we find we have blood and diarrhea all over our house. It was bright red and she seemed distressed.
We took her to the vet and they ran every test they could think of and we paid over $400 to have nothing come of them. Still not sure if it was the food or maybe just her I continued to feed my other dogs the food. The next day my Golden had pooped all over his crate(he is still being crate trained at night) but the food came out in full pieces like he couldn’t digest it.
I then knew it was the food causing this pain for my dogs. I took them off and feed them rice and boiled chicken for a week and they didn’t have anymore problems.
I WOULD NOT recommend this brand to anyone. I had to throw away basically and entire bag and waste hundreds of dollars on vet bills.

I have a black lab and he started having seizures at about 2 years old he would get them about once a month. I did my research and saw people were able to lower the amount of seizures with a high protein no grain dog food I went to petsupplycanada and found nulo it was the highest protein with a reasonable price. I have been feeding Nulo adult salmon and sweet potato formula to my Australian Shepherd for the past two years. It truly does wonders for him. His coat is shiny and healthy, his energy level is great, he stays at a perfect weight (of course, portion control and exercise play a huge part in this) and he has no “doggy” odor and no loose stools (unless he gets into something he shouldn’t…) I am a manager at petsupplycanada, and I recommend Nulo to evey customer that I can. It is so hard to find a dog food that is not only grain free, but white potato, tomato pomace, and tapioca free as well. All of these are common alternative carbohydrate sources in grain free foods that, while they are not “bad” for dogs by any means, can cause digestive upset in certain individuals. Nulo does not use any of these ingredients, and is chock full of healthy meat and veggies instead. If you are looking for an all around great quality dog food, look no further than Nulo. Just be careful about the high protein content for older dogs or dogs who are not very active.

My 11 year old Pitbull mix loves the food. He has an allergy to chicken so that’s why I chose the Salmon with Sweet Potato. Even though the recipe has chicken meal it has no effect on him. If your dog is more sensitive then I would suggest the Limited Ingredient Salmon recipe. I really like the product because it has no potato starch, tomato pumice (which is tomato skin and hard to digest) or the needless fillers like corn or corn meal the other brands use. We recently rescued a puppy and started her on the Nulo Puppy Chicken and Sweet Potato. She also likes the Salmon and Sweet Potato we found out when she started eating our other dogs food. Another positive was our 11 year old seems more active on this food.

I have a 14 year old diabetic dog who has been a very picky eater all of her life. Before she became diabetic I tried her on almost all of the top rated dry and canned dog foods. I couldn’t get her to eat many of the foods and others she would only eat if I added a small amount of table scraps. I have been feeding her Nulo Medal Series Grain Free Chicken flavored kibble for over two years and she eats it consistently. Although this kibble is not recommended for diabetic dogs, I have had no problems giving her a consistent amount of insulin to manage her diabetes. They can both have a bit of sensitivity to switching food, but I’ve been mixing this in with their old and it’s gone well. No upset tummies (which we have definitely had in the past). I can’t speak to the long term effects, but so far so good. The opening on the smaller package could be a little wider, I do find it difficult to get our scoop in and out without spilling. Otherwise it’s a win!

My two dogs love this food. The first time I tried this food with them, they gobbled down every piece thinking it was a treat! They really love this food, and it is great quality too (although you would hope so since it is on the expensive end of dog foods). I have 2 younger dogs, and you can see how lean and muscular they are under their shiny coats. We had given our dog this food for 4 total days at the recommended amount per weight. Keep in mind we did give natural treats during this time where I posted this same review. After taking to vet his Amylase count was 3,000 where max is 1200. I can only imagine looking at the ingredients and nutrition of both products the “guaranteed analysis” shows all should be in normal limits. What I’m concerned with is, it states guaranteed minimum not maximum so, I have no way of knowing what percentage of fat/protein etc is actually in them. He had been diagnosed with pancreatitis.

We just finished our first 64lb bag, we have a pit and an English bulldog. Right away I began to notice a difference in both girls coats. The bulldog became the dandruffy and the pit became more shiny. I also noticed they were not as hungry in between feeding times. I would definitely recommend Nulo. We barely just switched over to this food about two months, I must say it is amazing and has done wonders for my dogs and puppy! Two of my dogs are allergic to food and one is not(one is also a picky eater), most dog foods make one of them sick and the other dog get parvo symptoms from eating other foods. Great food that my dog loves, but the expiration dates are too tight for a small dog that only eats 1/2 cup a day. The first bag I ordered in early December 2014 had an April 2015 expiration date which was probably ok. But the second bag I ordered 2+ months later had the same expiration date…. I won’t be able to use it by that date and I am not comfortable feeding my dog an expired food. The local petsupplycanada does not stock this food and the closest petsupplycanada that does is quite a trek for us. May have to find another good food in a local pet store so I can check dates when I buy it. Other than that, it seems to be a great dog food!
