Seems like everybody complaining a bout battery life, I’ve not had any problems , bought replacement batteries for under 8 bucks 3 times in three years, when my dogs are in the house I take collars off and make sure they are away from outside underground lines since lines run along our kitchen and master bedroom side of house , otherwise the batteries will run down.

I bought batteries one month ago. We typically remove the batteries when the collars are not in use to help prolong the battery life. Well after a busy week and a half we hadn’t been removing the batteries from the collars. Sure enough two batteries are dead. I would love to know why the older collar and battery do not go dead but maybe once/twice a year but the new collars and batteries go dead monthly! I have 3 dog’s and need this system to work without fail and I shouldn’t have to sink so much money into batteries! I’m so disappointed in this company and this product/system!

Have had 2 doors for about 4 years! It’s a cat life saver. I have 3 indoor cats, and live in a rural area, slowly changing, but that’s another story. We have coyotes and raccoons which are dangerous for the cats, if they’re outside. We have one dog permanent and my daughters dog occasionally. Both dogs have their keys on their collars and know they can go out anytime they want. Occasionally the cats will catch on and end up in the garage, but it’s rare if they go out both dog doors. Anyway that’s our story and it’s why we love petsafe doors and keys.

To turn off or on the device you need a coin like a nickel or quarter. It takes quite a lot of pressure to turn. So most of the time I don’t turn it off when my dog is not wearing it which means the battery doesn’t last long. There must be a better way.

I’ve read a few of the reviews concerning the lifespan of the batteries that are supplied for the wireless units. I feel obligated to respond not as a criticizing patron to the negative remarks, but as one with 6+- years of experience using the products. With that being said, I’ve had short runs and long runs with these batteries! Through these times I’ve experienced that each one (individual or packaged together) are not created equal! Along with the occasional delinquent life of a battery, I also have a dog that is constantly testing the boundaries, hence, draining the battery prematurely. This should take us back to our responsibility of really paying attention to our pets! Couple the dog constantly testing the boundaries with the prolonged winter days of 25° to below 0° and summer days of 110°+, it was never a surprise to have to replace the battery sooner than expected. I learned to adapt (battery change) to the situation at hand. We pet owners should realize that given the situations that are dealt us, may have a bigger impact on the battery’s life and take necessary precautions to avoid possible grief. Change the battery! It doesn’t take that much time! In reality to the pet’s safety, it’s not that expensive! Hopefully this note will help some of you pet lovers out there!

I never write reviews but this system put my dogs life in danger and that really makes me mad. The system works but the battery in the receiver collar doesn’t last even for a full day. I have even tried removing the battery completely so there isn’t any reason for the battery to drain when the collar isn’t in use and re-inserting the battery when putting the collar on the dog. Doesn’t do any good to have an in ground fence system without a working receiver collar. Absolute garbage. Can’t get a rechargeable collar for the system I have. I’m really upset that I wasted money and time on this product. Trying to find another collar receiver to replace this worthless one.

I have had the system for eight years, and my dog wears her collar every day as a reminder, and the system stays on, as she can get busy exploring when she finds a scent. This unit enabled me to set the parameters for the area I wanted her to stay in. Took a bit of time to set up but once it was set, I haven’t had to adjust it. This was a lifesaver, as I live close to a busy highway. She now knows the area she needs to stay in, but I still put the collar on every time she goes out so she can run free. I personally have had no issues with battery life. I would highly recommend the wireless unit I bought to anyone. I am very happy with mine, and so is my fur baby!

I purchased the pet safe wireless fence. It’s a wonderful concept however after only 2 months we need a new battery. The wireless fence was a bit of an investment and believe rechargeable battery would be better suited for this product as the pets are in at night.

I bought system couple weeks ago, spent all day installing it into the yard, next day the shock was gone. The battery didn’t even last two days. Neighbor almost shot my dog because of it. Now I have to either order more from here or find someplace who has some. If I knew the batterys were useless I would not have bought this fence. rfa-67 needs fixed…..

Couldn’t be happier with this product. We live in the woods and keeping our dogs from going after animals is a must. I would definitely recommend this product.

I installed the wireless fence in late July and am just now (late February) finally replacing the original battery. I have had no issues whatsoever with the product or batteries and we live in a very cold climate which is typically hard on batteries of any type. Maybe we just got lucky!!
