This collar is pointless. It does not fit a medium sized dog well, and it does nothing to address the barking. I followed the instructions and it did go off on a wooded surface so I know the collar was working properly. Don’t waste your money on this, buy the expensive one!

I bought this but did not use it for several months until I had run thru all of Trainer and Vet suggestions to crate break little guy…He just would NOT stop constant uncontrollable barking when put into crate. It was NOT because he feared the crate. He willingly goes in at dinner time and waits quietly. HE just didn’t want to be in it when we left. Nothing suggested worked. Finally he was old enough and I put the collar on him while I was going to be home and put him in his crate….THREE BARKS was all it took for that session when it was put on him. I left him in crate for 20 min. with room door shut and we were very quiet like we were gone. Took him out. Removed his bark collar. and the next day when I put him in with collar on he barked a couple of small single barks and then nothing. We left for an hour or two and he was quiet when we came home..The third time I repeated his crating and the collar…NO BARKING at all…..TRY this! It won’t hurt your baby and it takes care of the barking….Now we can travel with him and leave him in the hotel room when he isn’t permitted to go where we go.

The collar is water proof so my dog can wear it out in the rain which is great. The collar fits both my small dog and my larger dog. This nearly zapped my dog into a heart attack, as well as nearly causing me the same. The warning vibration was great as he was so surprised, but when he was zapped he shot into the air and whimpered and looked so scared. Not too mention the accusing way he looked at me. He’s less that 20lbs and definitely not for him. Or for my mental well being. Going to try the spray collar next.

My dogs are only 10lbs ….these collars are supposed to be for small dogs but the shock component is so large it’s like they are wearing a house arrest bracelet around their necks! It’s way too bulky and heavy, it basically just hangs there. You can’t tighten it too tight because there are two metal pieces that stick out like drill bits and a third plastic piece in the center that would stab into the neck too much in order for it to fit properly. They should have made it smaller and lighter for small dogs. It didn’t work at all, my dogs still yapped like crazy and the weight of the collar had them hanging their heads like they were depressed. Ridiculous!

This collar does nothing because the bark sensor moves to the side of my dog’s neck and then she can bark. I can’t possible make it any tighter and still get it on her. Terrible design. So sorry I wasted money on this.

This thing will shut off if the dog keeps barking over it and my dog has figured that out and will just keep barking. In fact, he will bark MORE. A bark collar that increases the behavior. Imagine that. I wouldn’t recommend buying this. I would recommend spending more money on one if you have a barker.

I have been using these collars for about a year and they are still going strong. I have two Maltipoos and one was a consistent barker. Now I never hear her bark with this collar. There was one time I removed the collar, and within a half hour she starts barking as before.

My Australian Shepherd is a highly reactive, high drive, determined barker. After he witnessed me being bitten by another dog about a year ago, this behavior has only escalated. I’ve tried everything including working with excellent trainers, but his barking has only gotten worse. I take him to work with me daily (pet friendly atmosphere) and he has become disruptive and even frightening to my clients. I was at my wits end and to the point that he was going to have to stop coming to work with me. Then I tried this collar. It’s been a great help to curb his barking. Within the first few minutes of having it on, he stopped barking, which allowed him to calm down enough to actually listen to me, instead of his usual frantic behavior. He is stubborn, and he does power through the lower level corrections, but will stop after a few barks instead of nonstop barking. I would definitely recommend this collar to anyone with a determined barker. It has saved my dogs ability to continue coming with me, instead of being alone all day.

I have Scottish terriers and a Westie. Westie and one scottie are barkers. These collars work great and stop nonsense barking. If you don’t get a result, make sure collar is snug– not tight– enough. One finger under collar. If they work with terriers, they’ll work for anybody. Saved mine and neighbors sanity.

I bought this two days ago for my dogs separation anxiety. I tested it by running it on a rough surface as it didn’t appear to work. It beeped. I did it two other times & it shot an electric shock feel up my elbow. Tested on my dog & he scratched at it. Took it off over night. Put it on at 8:30am put him in his crate & left for work. at 3pm my son come home to a puddle of blood, two teeth & my dog unable to even stand or bear weight on his right side. Took him to the vet to be checked & he will go back for a full day of observation. I had a few friends recommend the product so not sure if ours was faulty but we will NOT use again or recommend.

I have had one of these for my Jack Russell Terrier for over 14 years. It still works like a charm to keep her from barking when we leave her in her kennel in a hotel room etc for short periods of time. After the first warning, she stops barking. I have ordered a second one to keep in the car, as, recently, she seems to object to us leaving her in the car when we are in a restaurant or store that doesn’t allow dogs. I am so glad that this model is still available. Here’s hoping that the new one will work as well as the original.

My dogs are used to shock collars as we have invisible fence which probably helped them understand right away. The barking is much less and the collar thankfully only corrects the dog wearing it so we do not need to worry about using them with both dogs. I highly recommend this tool but understand that every dog is different.

I think some people think that this collar replaces working with your own dog. Dogs bark and humans talk. (it would be nice to have one of these for humans went out in public when seated next to that 1 loud person!) This will not stop your dog from barking so you can just throw them in the backyard. BUT this collar does work as a deterrent. All I have to do is pickup the colllar and my dogs stop barking. Most of the time I don’t even have to turn it on when it’s on them. I’m buying batteries now for the first time in two years so don’t let the fact that it’s not rechargeable scare you. Remember to turn it off after removing it.

I was very hesitant to use a product like this one. I felt it was healthy for dogs to bark. I still feel like they need the opportunity to bark so I only leave the collar on around for 12 hours per day. The dogs have not learned that the caller is the source of the little zapping feeling. They get excited to wear the collars because they know it means there going outside for their morning potty time. I have a Great Dane and a Chihuahua. Both stopped relentlessly barking within a day. Since they do like to be vocal they have learned to “whisper bark” quietly when they really feel the need to communicate. So far everything is fine and it has been 2 weeks.

I purchased this item for my 9month old puppy and in the beginning it was great but i noticed that even when the puppy was not barking it would shock her too. Which I did not like. Maybe there is a defect in my collar but i was not happy with that bark collar. I was annoyed that it was shocking her even when she was good and not barking. One time it shocked her while we were just walking. The puppy was not barking nor was she going to start and it shocked her anyway and this i did not like. I wanted to try something that allows me to control her bark without causing any harm to her. The box comes with the collar, bark control unit, battery and even a year warranty. The collar controls her bark by a static versus am actual shock. There are six levels and gains strength each consecutive bark. After training her with the collar for a week, she has learned that once she barks with the collar, it will give her a static notification. It has corrected her barking when worn, however, when not worn, she knows she can bark.

I tested it on myself, and that took some doing, but the shock was relatively mild. Our new little girl seemed frightened at first but quickly acclimated and began to recognize that the shock only came after prolonged barking. Very satisfied with the results. I may be more traumatized than she is.

This collar performed better than I ever could have expected. Two of our four dogs are night time barkers, a Rottweiler and Basset Hound puppy. Our Rottie only took two nights to “get with the program” and now she rarely barks even during the day. The Basset Hound puppy was a little more challenging as the correction scared him causing the dreaded “Basset cry/howl”, the collar continued to correct him during this episode (very distressing). However, we placed the collar on him for one more night and he has not barked once. I am very confident our neighbors are very appreciative of this product!

Horrible, my poor dog cryed and got zapped for no reason. So my darked once and it zapped him (as it should). He barked once more and it zapped him again; bot times it worked well and he stopped and looked confused, but when he stopped to find out what happened he got zapped again (he was not moving, he was not crying, barking, or even growling) it just zapped him soo hard that it had him crying!!! He started crying soo hard like if someone was hitting him or something that I immediately took it off of him. He was shaking soo hard I felt horrible!!!!! I was against this already, but had no choice because I had received a noticed from management. I also bought him a duck looking muzzle. I may say the muzzle helps sooooooooooooo better. He does not like it, but it works better on him for barking.

This is the poorest engineered device I have ever seen !! Finally looked on Youtube to see how several got the battery out, was successful without harming the little “glued” ring over it. Ordered a new battery, now can’t get the ring to set and make contact. Would never buy another one of your products !!.

I don’t like this collar because it doesn’t give a warning. There are petsafe systems that beep first only as a warning then beep and shock. This one goes straight for a shock. My dog has long hair the first shock just made him stop in his tracks and shake his head. The second shock made him Yelp and jump back. I have never heard this dog Yelp in the year I have owned him and he plays rough, he’s clumsy and rolls off furniture and lands on his clumsy little coconut head but he’s never ever yelped. I’m swapping it out for something less brutal. Originally I was looking for the petsafe beep/vibrate collar which worked great for a dog I had many years ago. I will not go back to the static shock collar again nor would I recommend unless it’s to snap a dog out of an aggressive behavior when such force can save you and your dog from a lawsuit or the like.

I bought two of these; one for each of my dogs. ONE worked, ONE time, and that was it. Yes, the batteries are still good. I drag them across hard surfaces to check if they beep and light up, and they do. Other than that, nothing. While wearing these, my dogs have barked and barked and barked, snarled, growled, you name it, and did these collars deter them at all from what they were doing? The answer is absolutely NOT. Would not recommend.

The first few times it scared the poor guy because he didn’t know what had happened. After a few days we have already seen a decrease in his barking. It is working, but still scares him some. We will see how long this lasts.

Bought two of these, one for each dog. They play and move the device so it is not under neck; if contact points are not in the right place the device is useless. The dogs scratch at the device moving it.

This collar must be very tight or it will not work. Other collars should not be on the dog when this collar is worn. It worked great on our 60 pound hairy Australian Shepard unless it was slightly loose. The batteries last a very long time, over a year with constant use.

I bought this a few weeks ago. Still working with my dogs on it, but allow me to, it does work. I went to pick it up off the counter and apparently dragged the sensors across as I picked it up. I love the auto shutoff function, as if my dog is barking constantly even with the shock, I know something is going on. Getting a barking collar was the last resort for my big male Labrador, who had a habitual barking problem. It won’t make all dogs stop barking completely; but, he may only bark once or twice now and then he quits; whereas, before he was continuously barking at any car that drove by. My dog weighs 11 pounds and is quite furry also. When it is attached in the right place it soon sinks down below her neck and it says to not shave the fur off. So, because of above, it didn’t work at all. She yowls when I leave and she just kept yowling nonstop. I’m taking it back, the Elite was given 5 stars, I’ll try that one.

This bark collar really works and although it is on the expensive side – you will get great results. I have a 44 -lb heeler mix that would run outside and immediately start barking. The correction is enough to let her know we don’t want her barking. Keep your batteries fresh.

PetSafe has worked hard at bringing us a Bark Collar that is both safe and effective, this Basic Bark Collar does the job well. Up to 6 levels of correction, it does the work ( training ) for you if the barking continues so does the correction level until your dog figures out oh it’s me. Every Dog will learn at a different pace so be patient while they learn. This Collar is adjustable and will fit Most All dogs. Fits both my 100lb pit/mix rescue and my Labrador nice range. The rescue is just that a dog with a past… she is scared of her shadow so she barks then the lab barks because he has no clue why we are barking. This collar is powered by batteries, they last a good while unless your dog is a VERY slow learner. But I have no problem getting the batteries. My only thing is the prongs that touch the dogs neck could be longer, I have others from other PetSafe products I have so you can get longer ones and change them out if your pup is a fat neck like my lab. At first he didn’t know what the heck was going on because of his fat rolls. However it didn’t take long and all I have to do is show them the collar and NOT a peep out of either dog, best feeling ever! If you have a baby down for a nap and are expecting an Amazon package and a dog that loves to tell you the delivery person is here, this collar is a LIFESAVER, or at least sanity saver.

It takes a little getting used to because our Miniature Pinscher went into incessant bark mode while shocking himself which made him bark more. Finally got his attention and he stopped. You will need to be very consistent as to when you use it; we want our baby to announce the arrival of everyone. The proprietary battery means replacements will need to ordered online, as the battery is also the cover of the battery compartment. All in all, no regrets about buying it. Our baby is an angel once the collar is on; it’s amazing that he doesn’t bark without the battery in sometimes.

I purchased this collar thinking that it may not be strong enough for my 70 pound pitbull, but I was happy to find out that this collar works great. My dog has never barked past level 2! She responds to it very well and I think that teaching her that she doesn’t need to bark every time our neighbors’ dogs bark is making her a lot more relaxed when in the backyard. I would definitely recommend this product, but every dog is different. My dog is 4 years old, and is very obedient except with barking – – I am just so relieved this worked!
