I got this a few days ago and the tank is one of the best ive seen for the price. It has a really great drawer and a awesome top with 4 locks. Looks really wmazing and my ball python loves it. I have the 40 gallon version
JadeDa (verified owner) –
I love how easy it is to clean the substrate. And the bottom is black so it’s good for tortoisess
Sthprincess1987 (verified owner) –
Wonderful for snakes and some other reptiles. We have a baby ball python in it. He seems pretty happy. Just would not recommend if you need a tank heater because the bottom is plastic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first look, it’s lovely.
The drawer makes cleaning easier but feeding became harder.
The one thing that ruined it for us is the fact that the drawer will melt of you put heat on it! How can a company make a terrarium that can’t stand up to heat knowing we are going to use these devices in the tank to care for our pets?!?
Tjbjr (verified owner) –
I love this but I broke the screen top how can I get an exact replacement?
Patrick 24 (verified owner) –
I bought this a year ago and it last me a really long time
Shesgood (verified owner) –
I bought this about a month ago. Little tough getting used to a smaller one. It’s just really different.
Hflack (verified owner) –
where can I find a replacement??? My heat lamp melted the cover on top.
harmony121 (verified owner) –
I had to return this as it is not compatible with under tank heat. Also the drawer is not as convenient as it seems as the front don’t open so everything has to be removed for the drawer to come out… also not compatible with custom backgrounds as the drawer is in the way
Scaly (verified owner) –
Bought to upsize for a ball python outgrowing a 20 gallon tank. Very nice feature of the pull out cleaning tray but most hide boxes for larger snakes are taller than cleaning drawer so cannot fully utilize feature. Very secure locks on drawer. Also comes with 4 secure locks for mesh top. Only feature that may be faulty is the feeding door. It is only spring loaded and once the snake is bigger, may be able to easily push open to escape.

I have 2 ball pythons. I got this tank for the bigger one, and it’s been pretty great. Lots of space, easy to clean. I’ll emphasize again, it really is easy to clean. I love that about this tank. But, I have another snake, and I upgraded him to this easy clean tank. Thrive comes with a stacking attachment, so naturally I got that. PERFECT. They stack! And easy to clean! Okay, here’s my issue. Whatever pressure the tank above is exhibiting, is making bottom cage not close without a real fight. Bottom snake is an escape artist, top snake isn’t. I could just switch them… but basically, the magic function of the stacked cages is too good to be true. Bottom cage has a really hard time re-latching. I spent a good amount of time yelling, cursing, and punching the grate of bottom cage. It’s really frustrating and doesn’t run smoothly. I hope I can figure it out because for stacking two snakes, I feel my options are thin and this is a good one on paper. It looks nice, it’s not that functional. Also, THRIVE, the mouse hole is not functional – I wish that “option” wasn’t there. It’s flimsy, and basically just an exit for a snake to leave through. If you have a smart and creative snake, I wouldn’t recommend this tank. Mine are pretty dim, and apparently I’ll have to shuffle them based on that because it’s really arduous to put bottom tank screen on bottom tank, and that boy will explore.
Brenzzz (verified owner) –
My snake outgrew his old tank so I bought this for him and the lid melted from the light that I placed on the tank. This did not happen to his old tank (which was less expensive than this one) yet this one gave me issues. The material on this lid is cheap . Not worth the price.
Matticus B (verified owner) –
My ball python has become a big boy, having kept him in a 20 gal long tank the last 6-7 months I decided he needed a large space finally, something that can hold 2 hides, a large water dish, and branches/sticks for climbing and basking. This tank is amazing, the lid is easy to take off and has 4 locks on all corners, and you can SLIDE the whole bottom of the tank out like a cabinet, with handles. This tank is obviously not ideal for young reptiles but for adult Ball Pythons and Bearded Dragons this is honestly the perfect tank. No regrets whatsoever with this purchase.
krisee11 (verified owner) –
I have an adult leopard gecko who only eats small crickets (at 20 years old!! lol) and the small crickets manage to get out through the bottom drawer openings. I tried taping the seams but that defeats the purpose, if you can’t use the drawer. I returned it in less than 24 hours and opted for the same brand with a front opening set up…Very pleased with this design.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this tank for my bearded dragon. It’s really easy to clean thanks to the pull out drawer. My dragon isn’t a full grown adult yet but there’s plenty of space for her to grow! This tank is amazing and definitely worth it!!
ChunkyRunky (verified owner) –
I just bought this tank for my leopard gecko and I am so, so happy with it! My heat pad does not melt the bottom which is great. I purchased the 20 gallon one and was very suprised that I could fit all of my 3 hides in it! I love how the roof slides off and how the drawer on the bottom does too. So happy with this product.
The way of the sploot (verified owner) –
When we purchased our geckos, we had no idea that one would be a super giant leopard gecko. It became apparent that he would need more space after the first year. He is also an escape artist. He figured out how to open the lid on the 20 gallon terrarium. This 40 gallon terrarium is a good fit for him and it locks on top. The drawer makes it easy to clean and change the substrate. A con is that the terrarium is heavy. Definitely a 2 person lift and carry. Measure with the box on it before buying as it may not fit in an economy car backseat or trunk. We asked for a flatbed cart to put it on. My son has a newer car with a spacious backseat and door clearance so it fit fine. Price was 189.00+ taxes. It isn’t too bad but if you’re able to get this terrarium on sale or have a coupon for 15-20% off, then that’s the way to go. It is not a perfect terrarium for every reptile. Assess the needs of your scaly baby and what your budget can do. There are no pictures of my scaly baby in this terrarium yet as he is taking his time adjusting to more space.

So far I am very impressed with this tank. I like the easy slide drawer and all the locking features as corn snakes are notorious for escaping! So far Pabu seems to really enjoy his new home. I am using the Thrive coconut shavings substrate and so far feel like this is all a good match. I am impressed with the quality of thrive and how well this tank fits into our home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yall, when I tell you I SCREAMED when I realized what I got!!! OMG!! Our crested gecko is 16 years old and has been needing a larger tank for so long! This is SO PERFECT for her!!! I would 100% recommended this tank! Its super easy to slide the bottom out to change the food/water dish and I love that! Im so happy to have gotten this FREE!!!! Love Influenster so much!
srt_bryan_ (verified owner) –
i have bought 3 of these so far, 2 40 gallon, and one 20 gallon, i will be returning today for another 40 gallon. they are so convenient for our ball pythons, especially where i can slide out the bottom, go hose it off, wipe it down and slip it right back in..
MotherM (verified owner) –
We bought this tank at Christmas for our juvenile milk snake. He constantly wedged himself in the crack between the drawer lip and the lip of the casing. Yesterday he wedged himself in, fell behind the drawer and was suffocated/crushed between the drawer and casing. We are devastated. If your reptile is small enough to fit in the space between, DO NOT GET THIS.
LeeInOttawa (verified owner) –
I bought the smaller terrarium with lid about a month ago for some baby mice I found. The manufacturer has stuck a large label on the glass that is next to impossible to remove without a lot of solvent. Recommended but a huge inconvenience.
Garter owner (verified owner) –
This would be OK for lizards or for a baby Ball Python or juvenile Corn or King Snake. But it should never be used for hatchling or young juvenile Colubrids (Corns, Kings), Garters, or any other small snakes. They are able to slip through the cracks between the removable tray and the sides of the enclosure and go UNDER the tray. You could easily injure your snake if you removed the tray and didn’t realize it was there; they could also escape while you are sliding the tray out. I learned this the hard way. In addition, the slide-out tray isn’t really convenient enough to justify the risk – you have to remove all water bowls, plants, etc. anyway in order to slide it out and change substrate. A front-opening enclosure would be much better.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
I bought this terrarium last week and it came with a list of issues. First of which, was the difficult to slide-in mesh top. The thing would get stuck and the drawer screws did not fully fasten, leaving opportunity for my leopard gecko to get injured. I didn’t believe all the bad reviews about the Thrive products because I thought this terrarium would be perfect. There was a crack on the glass (which is extremely dangerous for my pet) and I couldn’t be more disgusted with such an item. Again, the top was difficult to slide in and out (nothing was blocking it) and even something as simple as the handle was faulty.
purplececc (verified owner) –
Bought two weeks ago. Perfect size; however I would like larger and more openings for easier feeding.
Garter owner (verified owner) –
I’ve had the 20 gallon version of this tank for a month. I like it in general but would prefer a front-opening enclosure. I like that the screen top safely holds light/heat fixtures. The removable tabs to run wires and temp probes into the tank are nice, and you can fill any gaps around wires with modeling clay for extra security. While it’s true that you have to remove everything in the tank in order to pull the tray out to change substrate, that’s not a huge issue unless you have an animal that requires thorough substrate cleaning frequently. If, like me, you have animals that only need daily spot cleaning and only need a deep clean and total substrate change every 4-6 weeks, it’s fine. But…DO NOT PUT SMALL SNAKES INTO THIS ENCLOSURE. Hatchling and young juvenile corn, king, garter, etc. snakes can slip between the edges of the tray and the sides of the enclosure and get UNDER the tray. You could easily injure them while removing the tray if you didn’t know they were there; they can escape through the right side while the tray is being slid out; and it’s possible that a young snake could get trapped under the tray and starve or dehydrate. You also need to be SURE to firmly slide the lid all the way into place and lock it down; very small snakes can crawl up on to the lip of the edge of the tank and could get crushed if you move the lid. Nice tank for the right type of animal, but be very sure your pet will be safe before choosing this.
CarleyM (verified owner) –
The enclosure isn’t too bad, however, the clips to lock the lid in place were broken off, and there were black smudges on the glass that couldn’t be removed.
Piglets3 (verified owner) –
Bought this for my daughter’s new snake. It works perfectly to fit on her cabinet and the drawer underneath makes cleaning so easy. Love this and she is so happy with ease of viewing.
Deviant Scare (verified owner) –
I absolutely love this tank for my ball python. My only complaint is that I’d like to replace the lid but cannot source one anywhere. petsupplycanada does not offer replacement parts!
Bearded dragon girl (verified owner) –
I don’t recommend that you get this for a bearded dragon because it does not have a front opening part because if you try to pick your bearded dragon up they will hiss and open there mouth and turn back because they think your a predator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far my bearded dragon has enjoyed this tank. It has the easy pull out drawer for cleaning which also means the first 3 inches are black and she cant see her reflection! I have been using paper towels as substrate the past month because it has been super easy to clean! No it is even easier because I just pull the drawer out and swap paper towels or the indoor outdoor carpet. I havent tried using tile in this yet but Im sure itll be just as easy. Now, the one thing I am upset about is they dont offer any area to clip your lights or hang a t8 or t5. Overall I have been very happy with this item.

I purchased this terrarium for my Syrian hamster, as he had chewed through and escaped his plastic bin cage. This terrarium is bigger than his old cage and much prettier to look at! Do you hamster a favorite and get them one of these or a large aquarium. Never get your hamster one of those stupid critter trail cages or a tiny tails cage! They will thank you for it!
Anonymous (verified owner) –
This terrarium is perfect! It’s large size will accommodate your reptile well. We have a leopard gecko in it, and the drawe makes cleaning a breeze! Best part with the locks on the lid and the drawer it’s perfect for keeping the nosey cats from getting inside it! Love that it wasn’t a kit, that way you can make it what you want and use what you have like we did.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely loving our bearded dragons new tank! I always dread cleaning and feeding due to having to open the entire top of the tank and having cats!! With this tank there is no fear of the cats getting the lid off as it locks in place and there is a little food door. Theres also a cool slide out drawer as the bottom that also locks making cleaning the bedding even easier!! Love, love, love it!!

I was looking for a larger home for my hamster and decided to go with a terrarium. It works really well. It’s a lot roomier and has lots of set up possibilities. I was able to create two floors and the glass walls allow for deep bedding. I don’t clean by opening the drawer because the bedding is pretty high. I’m very happy with the purchase and do recommend it. I purchased the 49 gallon size. I have a Syrian Hamster.
PoochieZ (verified owner) –
Was a good upgrade – plenty of room for her to roam around with a couple hides and a water dish. And a reasonable price. Drawer for easy cleaning and screen is removable to enter from the top.

Hello, I have searched every where. Where can We buy a new lid if needs replaced?
DHGecko (verified owner) –
I bought this thinking the drawer would be wonderful for cleaning. As I was setting up I realized that I would no longer be able to see the gecko. This might be good if your creature hangs out most of the time at least 2 inches off the ground, but for those of us with ground dwelling creatures its not good at all.

I just picked this up today and it’s amazing. Well constructed and very durable. Plenty of room for my beardie. It measures 36x18x18. Good size tank. Highly recommend picking one of these up

This is a Great Tank, But Still to Heavy for Me so I won’t be keeping it. I used it for a Hamster, Which was okay as long as Your hamster isn’t a chewer because the inside rim of the bottom shelf is all plastic. And so is the whole pull out drawer. The little door on top fell off Very easily just from My car sitting on top of the cage Only for a few seconds, Not good. I know it’s a Reptile Tank but for the High Price it still has a few flaws.
SuziiieeeQ (verified owner) –
It’s completely horrible for a beer dragon because the lid can only open from the top unless you don’t have anything for it to climb on like logs n stuff but if you do like us you can’t use the draw part
Kay824 (verified owner) –
Great idea for the easy clean pull out! If only this terrarium had front opening doors.. then it would be perfect!
Reptile Owner (verified owner) –
Unboxed the terrarium and the screws on the lid were broken. One of the screws was rolling around inside the tank, the other one still attached to the mesh, but not the lid frame. One of the inner corners of the frame is not sealed properly and there is a gap. Can’t find the receipt to return it. The only reason I gave one star is because it was on sale when I purchased it. I’m out $160, but better than $200.00

I’ve had this tank for roughly a year now and my ball python has loved it so for
IsabelO (verified owner) –
My tortoise needed an upgrade from 20 gallon to 40 gallon tank anyway and I didn’t even know other styles of tanks existed so I am SO HAPPY I took time to do a bit of research first. My tortoise loves to run into the walls and bank up against them, so not only is it nice that this one has the black part go up a few inches so it’s not nearly as loud, but it’s also a life saver that I can pull it out to clean it. I’m so thankful and this was so worth the money.
LuckyRed (verified owner) –
I bought 2 of these and think it’s a really good deal for what you’re paying ($95 on sale when I got them & $120 regular). Pros are the blacked out bottom (great for snakes who burry themselves and want to feel safe), the little top hatch on the sliding top makes refilling water and checking temperatures easier than having to slide off the whole lid & the pull out drawer for easier spot cleaning / full bedding change. Cons are the locks for the drawer are not big snake proof (a larger snake like adult ball python, adult corn snake, adult sand boa, etc could easily turn the locks from the inside and push the drawer open) and if you put anything on the bedding that would be taller than the drawer then you wouldn’t be able to open the drawer unless you take everything out first that’s too tall. Plus some people prefer front opening terrariums and this doesn’t give you that option, I don’t mind top opening but it’s something to consider as well, especially if you’d want to stack your terrariums. I’d recommend vacuuming the terrarium first and remove and loose silicone on the inside, as there was a lot on both terrariums I got but overall I really like the size and the blacked out bottom space is what sold it for me! Highly recommend to anyone who wants this for SMALLER reptiles or as a temporary enclosure for a baby/young snake.
Dizoh (verified owner) –
I was a bit hesitant on buying in the beginning just because it wasn’t exo-terra but I was in the store n they had it on sale ($169) so I figured why not save $40 bucks. So brought it home set it up n thus far no complaints! Although I do have a few concerns. 1st. Yhe bottom is plastic so u wouldn’t put a heating pad underneath. 2nd anything taller than the drawer you’ll need to take out before you open the drawer. So in my eyes that sorta defeats the purpose cause I can easily take out my snake as I remove his hide instead of ” unlocking the top taking out the hide n the branches n the plants n the water dish. To be honest the drawer just seems more of a hassle than anything but I guess it can be very convenient depending on what your keeping inside!. N 3rd the feeding hole is wayyyy to small for anything larger that a large feeder rat. Bit in the end not a bad product. I purchased the “stacker” & it fits my other so that’s a bit of a bonus!!.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Terrarium is Massive and my Beardie absolutely loves it!! It is so easy to clean, however I wish it had a larger opening on the top! It gives my beardie so much room. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a space for an Adult Beardie!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I introduced my gecko to his new tank and I think he is going to really appreciate all the extra space! The tank is roomy, well constructed, sturdy but lightweight. Its made well, every last detail of it seems well thought out, like it was designed specifically by a pet parent. The top locks with four corner fasteners and the bottom has a removal tray for cleaning. We are in the process of moving my gecko into a new room I have provided some photos of him exploring his new home

I’ve had this tank about 4 months now and no problems so far. My heat lamp hasn’t melted the lid, however I’m only using a 50w bulb and the lamp is pretty tall. The one thing is the drawer, I was concerned about how my snake could potentially open it so I’ve taped it shut permanently with duck tape, works great but kinda defeats the purpose of the drawer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me start off by saying how amazing Thrive is! Their products are high quality! This one really shocked me though. I didnt think a tank could be so exciting! As soon as I got home with my new tank, I moved my gecko and all of his rocks into it. He instantly starting exploring and walking on every part of it. He was in a 20 gallon tank before this, so this was a major upgrade. There is a drawer at the bottom with a handle and locks so youre able to open it to easily clean the tank. The top cover has a little door with a latch for putting crickets or anything else in. I would 100% recommend this tank. It is even more than I expected and Im so grateful for Thrive and Influenster.

George, my oldest daughters gecko is about a year. He’s getting big and we just upgraded him to this 20 gallon tank. Can’t see down low, but not an issue because it is on my daughter’s dresser and we let George do his own thing most of the time. Love the little extra door on the top and slide tray for cleaning! I was able to add another big piece to his cage due to the extra room! Great price as well.

biggogh (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s a regular terrarium, at first seemed like a good concept. It is so hard to get my pet out of it. There is a small latch on top that barely fits your hand. I have a big fake tree in there so I can’t even slide the bottom open the whole way. I would rather have the terrarium that opens with the glass.
Cabud11 (verified owner) –
This tank is amazing! It is so, so much easier to clean. I got it for my Leopard Gecko a few months ago. He enjoys it way more than his older one. He is out and about so much more often, I was surprised on how he is so adventurous now. This is such a great tank for that price.
DhdhDhsbvd (verified owner) –
We used to have our rock hotel right against the glass for our leopard gecko, however this tank has such a high blocked view we have to set it back about 3 or 4 inches and it is more towards the center. The idea is neat but not great for viewing or ascetic.
Jessicad61191 (verified owner) –
This tank is well made and seems bigger than other 40 gal brands. The lid is awesome it has 4 locks built in and actually lock the tank. My snake is in love with her new tank. You have to read the instructions though. You can put a light directly on the screen but not close to the plastic or it will melt the plastic where the locks are.
billt2 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My leo’s are really enjoying their new, bigger home. I am as well with the convenience of the pull out tray for easy access cleaning, and the easy access doors. No more having to do everything from the top and scaring my girls.

We recently got 2 new baby gerbils and decided to upgrade the gerbil habitat we already owned. So far so great, the gerbils have so much more square footage, which is necessary for such highly active small pets. The slide-out drawer feature is absolutely amazing for an easy bedding clean. I would recommend this tank for anyone with hamsters or gerbils, as well as for the intended use of reptiles. The non-wire cage is fantastic for gerbils with their long tails, nothing they can catch their tails in.
mckaayg (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My gecko is absolutely loving this set up! He has so much room now and seems a lot more active! I also love how easy it is to clean just by pulling out the bottom. I would definitely recommend to other reptile owners who need this big of a set up for their pet!
Caiiyiann (verified owner) –
This tank is really good for the price. I got it on sale for $60; but wouldn’t mind paying the full price for it.
Got it for my garters and found that the 20 gallon was spacious enough until I upgrade again. I love how this tank comes with a cleaning pull out tray at the bottom of it. But if there’s one flaw, I’ll mention…it’s the fact that the feeder lid is cheaply made. Not sure why it would be made of plastic of all materials considering a heat lamp could easily warp it or melt it.
The tank lid itself has a slide feature to open and close…not sure how I feel about this as sometimes it startles my snakes but so far so good. Highly recommend this tank for any one on the fence about it.
