It is important to slowly transition your pet from his/her current diet as it takes a few days for the body to adapt to new nutrient levels. To transition, gradually mix in the new food over a 5-7 day period, increasing the amount of Wellness each day, so that you are feeding 100% Wellness by day 7.

We switched to Wellness Core Puppy after another brand gave our puppy loose stools. It has firmed them up. With that said, he does not go at the food like it’s the best thing ever…which might not be a bad thing. Occasionally we put pumpkin on it to entice him. I like that the brand is available in many locations and that there is a good amount of probiotic and fiber in the food. Small detail, I LOVE that the bag has a zipper on it to help keep the food fresh without me using a clip or some other thing to keep the bag closed.

I want the best for my pup and he really enjoys this kibble.
Kiaya (verified owner) –
The food is good, well Thor thinks so. We have a 14 week old Staffy, and we had originally decided to not feed him any dry food, as it contains a lot of grains and other things that have no health benefits for him. We tried this solely based on it being recommend to us from a breeder. After research, we discovered that it in fact was a good suit for our boy and we are impressed with the range of ingredients, and other vitamins it contains. I have noticed since starting him on this food, he has ‘beefed up’, he no longer looks like he isn’t being fed.
ChelsieM (verified owner) –
I got this for my pup to make sure he was getting all the nutrients he needs. I was cooking all of his meals but was worried he would be missing out on key nutrients so I got this to know he would be healthy. His coat is very shiny and he has added a lot of muscle mass. The only downside is he will not eat it unless it is mixed in with other food and even then will sometimes eat around the kibble. I make my own dog safe chicken, beef and vegetable stock and will soak the food in it for a few minutes before giving it to him and that is the only way he will eat it. All in all it is a good quality food but beware if you have a picky dog that they may not like it.
ROTTIES22 (verified owner) –
My dogs love this WELLNESS CORE PUPPY formula they eat all up fast and knowing that its healthy for them makes me happy. Their coats are shiny and they have so much energy its like gold in a bag for them thank you WELLNESS and thank you pets mart for having this food.
LillysMommy (verified owner) –
Switched my puppy to this from Purina Puppy Chow and noticed a huge difference in her coat and also she wasnt itching her skin so much anymore. Way better ingredients in this than Puppy Chow!
JaLeahM (verified owner) –
Fantastic ingredients and my puppy loved it! She has somewhat of a sensitive stomach and it worked out perfectly.

I love this food and my puppy also . He gubbles all his food he is a Malamute x germain shepord and the vet says hes butiful i wish that we could order online it would save me the hasle of waiting 2 weeks
Sam W (verified owner) –
My puppy seems to enjoy it. He doesn’t really care for dry kibble, but he’ll eat this

This is really great food. I have an eight month old, 70 pound Labrador Retriever puppy and she is doing great on Wellness Core. I feed another dog Wellness so it was only natural to feed Wellness. I go thru two bags a month though so my only complaint is cost. I need stock in Wellness the way my dogs eat it! My puppy seems to have tummy issues and this keeps her potty solid, with no diarrhea.

We started our puppy off with Simply Natural and were really happy with the food. When we took her to the vet, she seemed a bit concerned about her coat. After much research I decided to switch her to a grain free food. We transitioned her to Core over 2 weeks just to be sure she would tolerate it (especially since she is recovering from coccidia). We have had no issues. She will eat it by itself or with some Wellness Topper (which I really recommend).
Pril (verified owner) –
I’ll buy”date close” food with no problem, great price reduction and my pup loves it.

I just recently I bought a Jack Russell Terrier/Australian Shepherd puppy. He was pretty sick when I brought him home and my vet recommended that I try this dog food for him. My puppy has been doing great since switching over to this dog food! He just loves it.

We started our Boston Terrier puppy on Blue Buffalo on the advice from friends. While it is an excellent dog food, it was too rich for her digestive system. We transitioned her To Wellness Core Grain Free & now her stools are no longer runny & her energy level has evened out. She loves this food and I am glad we made the change.
Mollys Mom (verified owner) –
After getting our puppy who had originally been on Kirkland puppy food, we switched to wellness core because it was rated one of the best dog foods. However, we noticed that our puppy struggled to adjust to it. She wouldn’t eat out of her dog bowl so we thought that was the problem so we switched the dog bowl. But even then she still seemed hesitant with the food. She’d only eat one piece at a time and she hardly ever finished a full meal which was on 1/4 a cup 3 times a day. We decided to switch her food to Hills Science diet puppy food and she devours it and then cries for more. Not sure if the size of the food was too big or she didn’t like the taste, but for us we just didn’t have success with this brand of dog food. I would recommend people to try it though because it is a good brand, but just like humans dogs have specific taste and texture preferences.
Noal (verified owner) –
My pet loves the taste and it does not upset her stomach
Happy granny (verified owner) –
I have been buying this puppy food for 6 months. My puppy is happy and healthy
Felipe24 (verified owner) –
I bought this for my puppy. I love the ingredients and the percentage of protein this kibble has.
Nicole (verified owner) –
My Big puppy loves this food! He has done so well on it since we switched him off of the food that he was given before us. My adult dog even tried to nibble at it when he isn’t looking, and she is the pickiest eater!
Hooges27 (verified owner) –
We adopted our little pup and she was on shelter food that was very fatty and full of grains so we wanted to switch her right away. She loves the core chicken for puppy’s and loves the toppers that come in packets to mix in. We can’t wait under she can try the different variety of adult dog foods.

We love this product it and the healthy benefits it offers for our newest Siberian husky. She loves it and it is one of the top rated puppy foods recommended by vets. The freeze dried prices added with the wholesome grain free kibble really sets the bar high!

Max is now 6 months old and we tried lots of different food. We switched to this food and noticed a HUGE difference. Since he has been on this food he has not puked, he’s been very active && his coat is very shinny and feels awesome! I would recommend this food to anyone..It its worth the money!

When we first got our puppy from the breeder, he was on Science Diet. We intended on keeping him on this food until my wife did some additional research. We initially switched our puppy over to the Wellness Complete health but decided we wanted Grain Free, so we switched to Wellness Core. Our puppy enjoys the food and we feel confident that he is eating healthy, quality food.

I have a almost 7 month old mini australian shepherd dalmatian cross. He was on purina one smartblend puppy. Beau always was itching and runny stools. Since switching to wellness core puppy that has stopped.
LuvMyKleeKai (verified owner) –
My 6 month old puppy was having an upset stomach with the previous dry food that I was giving her and I didn’t realize it was her food until I was reading about her breed (Alaskan Klee Kai) that they have sensitive stomachs and should try grain free dry food. I started giving her this dry food and she loves it and also it sits well in her stomach. No more issues! I highly recommend this brand if your puppy has a sensitive stomach like mine does.
Pets207 (verified owner) –
Core Wellness is like one of the healthiest dog food brands I could find. Lula my Maltese likes it, she will eat it. but, the kibbles are WAY to big for a tiny squirt like Lula. I would recommend this food because its super healthy, and fit with all the needed protein for a puppy. but please Wellness make a small dog puppy food!! Lula will probably eat Core her whole life when she grows into the small dog breed adult food.

I am 52 yrs old and have had boxers all my life, puppys to adults, rescues, etc. with all types of issues. Boxers tend to have stomach and allergy issues. We currently have an adult female who CAN NOT eat any commercial dog food without getting sick, so we have researched and tried every brand, so we are currently feeding our adults home cooked food. But we just received a puppy, after again ALOT of research and trying a couple of GOOD brands, we settled on this brand it is GREAT, yes I said great for a commercial brand, she loves it and with allergies, it is worth every penny. Very happy!!!

As a Breeder High Quaility food is very important to me. This food is exellent for puppies. we feed all of our nursing Females this food and we wean the puppies on to this food as well. This food provides puppies with everything they need to be healthy and proper growth, Their coats are nice and shiny and soft and their skin is always great! I love this food so much that I even Buy a bag for all of the puppies to go home with! Very Recommended.

I bought this for my puppy and this was expired a year old. Not happy about this how sad. My puppy had already eaten a few serving of the food

Good quality for a growing puppy. Love grain-free.

When I got my cute lil schnauzer, Chloe, she was 5 months old and on ProPlan after that I switch her to Simply Nourish Salmon and Sweet Potatoe, she devoured it but I still notice she was itchy and her hair was dry and brittle, and her stools somedays were soft some other days were not. My god, that girl was always having a bad hair day! Now, it’s been a week on Wellness and she loves it. Soft hair, lots of energy, and hard stools. the only thing that I’m worry about is the high protein, since she’s small. SO far so good!
Puppylove222 (verified owner) –
Our puppy absolutely loves this food. She devours it in no time and has never had any trouble with digestion. She loves it so much that we can use pebbles as training treats to help avoid overfeeding and lower cost of having to buy other treats. Highly recommend.
ILoveLula (verified owner) –
I have a VERY energetic Maltese! She is always running outside or going for walks. Why? because she always has energy. I think Wellness did a great job making a healthy, wholesome food. Compared to all the other dog food, besides Science Diet, I think Wellness ranks pretty high. There is some pretty big problem through. Wellness doesn’t make a CORE grain free small/toy breed puppy food, Yet they have it for adults. so frustrating!
JojoV (verified owner) –
Love the core puppy food, I will be switching soon to the adult complete health. Due to the controversy over grain free foods. Or maybe mixing it with the grain free. Wellness is a great whole some brand
Dana77 (verified owner) –
I bought this two weeks ago and I am very satisfied with this food.

When we first got our Shih Tzu puppy she was eating Purina Puppy Chow. Yuck. On dog food adviser it had one star! So we decided to move her to a higher quality food! She loves Wellness (rated 5 stars on dog food adviser). She eats less since there’s more nutrients, she poops less and her fur and skin looks great! I’ll be keeping her on this for sure!

Have been feeding this to my puppy she is a satisfied puppy.

I bought this product a few days ago and didn’t realize until I had opened and already started feeding this to my dog that the use by date was from almost a year ago.

I have two one year old English Cream Golden Retrievers. One is picky and the other will eat anything and everything. I tried to find a dog food with good reviews. Core Wellness was rated #1. I bought a lot of flavors of their can food along with grainfree puppy kibble. Both of my dogs wouldn’t eat the wet food without lots of coaxing. Both walked away from the kibble. I went back to making their wet food from scratch. They eat the wet food and leave the kibble. If I mix it up really good they pick off what they can and leave their bowls 1/3 full to avoid this kibble.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BRAND FOR WET OR DRY DOG FOOD.
Danajane27 (verified owner) –
This is the only dog food my dog will eat! He loves it!
JosieBoob (verified owner) –
I started by pit bull/boxer mix on the Wellness Complete puppy food when I first brought her home. I spent hours in the store comparing ingredients of other dog foods (I’m pretty sure picking baby formula would have been easier!). She loved it, but I started to notice she would get diarrhea every 7-10 days. The vet said it could be a food allergy so I switched her to the Core since it was grain free. Now the stomach issues are gone, she loves the food, and her teeth and coat are super healthy. Everyone comments on how pretty and shiny her coat is. My only complaint is that the puppy food doesn’t come in bags bigger than 12 lbs, we go through it in about 2 weeks.

I’ve been buying this for our puppies and they love it.

This is the best Grain-Free Puppy food I’ve tried for my Bulldog! I wanted to feed him the best, so after trying every other holistic Grain-free puppy diet on the market (and sadly experiencing some unpleasant messy puppy diarrhea, since many of these grain-free diets are so rich and unbalanced that they are too harsh on a puppy’s sensitive digestive tract, my puppy included), Wellness Core Puppy was THE BEST food for my bulldog. He eats every meal, is growing perfectly, and I trust this company, since they have been around the longest/have the most scientific backing and research out of all the Holistic pet foods.
Antoinette68 (verified owner) –
This is the only dry food my dog will eat. He’s very picky.
Juliemds99 (verified owner) –
Dog sick. Diagnosed with autoimmune disease. Garlic in dog food is toxic.
anonymous (verified owner) –
My 5 month old maltipoo loves it! She’s a bit slow to eat it because she’s always begging for our human food, but she always finishes her bowl and is doing great! Her coat is gorgeous and she is so energized, and our vet says she is very healthy. Totally recommend!
Deana (verified owner) –
My frenchie had some issues with the last puppy food we tried, when we switched her to this all those problems went away! She loves it!!

Having initially moved two of our 7 dogs to Core food (ocean) we have now moved all the dogs onto the food after seeing great results After the transitional period from their last food. We are a show/breeding kennel who’s dogs are part of our family so it is important they are have and look the best they can. They are super happy since the move

My German shepherd puppy loves this puppy food. He gobbles this up as soon as I put the food in he’s bowl. I love this brand and I love the quality products that going into the food. I love that it makes my dogs coat shiny and soft. I would recommend this brand to anyone.
Mamad7414 (verified owner) –
I tried this for 4 days with my puppy and it made her itch like crazy.
GasX (verified owner) –
We tried other puppy food. She got gassy and seemed to smile when she dealt those quiet but deadly ones. We bought the good stuff and her ammo disappeared. It seemed to agree with her bowels more. Tasty too. She doesn’t miss a meal.
SummerLovin (verified owner) –
When I rescued my (now) 3 month old German Shepherd she had a lot of digestive problems, her diet is very restrictive. So I put her on grain-free food and it has made a world of difference! She is back on track, doesn’t need to go to the bathroom as frequently, house-trained much quicker, and has so much more puppy energy! I considered switching her to a slightly less expensive brand (because at this point I spend more money on her food than I do my own) but I couldn’t do it because it’s worth the expense to see her so happy and healthy. Summer and I both approve and would recommend this food to anyone!

I’ve been buying wellness core for years. Best food for your dog. I do recommend small bites for fast eaters, otherwise you’ll discover big bites thrown back up. Lol
Beau2023 (verified owner) –
I gave it a week. It instantly gave my puppy diarrhea. He pooped excessively.
Deepak (verified owner) –
I wanted to feed my dog the very best so I had him on Orijen puppy. He was having diarrhea consistently and I thought he was sick. Back and forth on bland diets and a Vet visit later I put him on Wellness. Although according to dog food advisor etc. this is supposedly an inferior product he’s never had anymore issues.

I have a 6month old blue nose pit-bull puppy named Hades. I tried a couple of other top name brands because I heard good things but the reaction from my puppy told me different. So I made the switch to WELLNESS CORE grain free puppy food. now Hades no longer plays with his food or lifts it out of his bowl. I am also glad to say he is no longer itching either. His coat is as shiny as can be and his muscle development is ahead of schedule compared to the average dog his age and breed. With out question when it is time to switch to adult food I defiantly will be looking to see what this brand offers before I even think of using another.
boomerhoover (verified owner) –
My puppy tolerated this right away, as there are no grains in the recipe. I like that even though my puppy is so small, the kibble is a nice size -he chows fast but he has to chew this so it has slowed him down at meal time. I have seen his energy levels increase over the last couple weeks and he is also sleeping through the night better. Some of that is age, but I also think that a high-quality kibble has a lot to do with it too because the protein level delivers energy over a longer period of time and he doesn’t seem hungry again in a few hours.
Erynshea (verified owner) –
I started my puppy on this at 8 weeks old. He grew larger and much healthier than his litter mates. His coat is so glossy and he loves the food. Even his vet has asked me what I’m feeding him because he can’t BELIEVE how great he looks.

When we got our 10 week old shih-tzu puppy, he came with a bag of Royal Canin given to us by his breeder. Our little guy hated it from the first bite and had terrible diarrhea that wouldn’t go away. Several hundreds of dollars in bills and many tests later, the vet put him on a canned prescription diet, also Royal Canin. But, this time his diarrhea eased up right away. That’s when I began to suspect food allergies because the Rx food was made with brown rice and no other grains at all. So I tried out several brands of expensive grain-free foods. None of them seemed to work until I decided to try Wellness Core. Turns out our munchkin is allergic to wheat, wheat gluten, corn and corn gluten. Since we made the switch to Wellness Core, he has been doing wonderfully. We mix the canned food and solid food with no issues at all. He also loves the flavor, which is an added bonus! He thinks the solid food is a treat. He is 6 months old now and has been on Wellness for a little over 2 months. He is healthy and energetic and his coat is shiny and so soft that everyone remarks on it! No more diarrhea! The only “downside”? We have to put up with fish breath, LOL! The food is both grain and gluten-free. Meat and/or fish, vegetables and fruits are at the top of the ingredients list. The 4 probiotic cultures seem to keep his digestive system balanced and it is one of only two brands to include them. I couldn’t find a gluten and grain-free version of the other brand in-store. I would highly recommend Wellness Core to anyone whose dog has digestive problems.
