This basking bulb SUCKS! I got a chameleon on March 10,2016 and I have bought a total is 5 bulbs now it is may 5,2016 (almost two months later) and I don’t Even have ONE light left! they say long lasting on the package and that’s totally not even close the longest I kept on is 3 weeks ridiculous ! My poor chameleon every other week is sitting pretty much in the light I will NEVER EVER buy these again >:| I would not suggest anyone to buy these you will just be wasting your money

These bulbs are horrible. The first one lasted a couple of days. I took it back to the store and exchanged it. That one lasted less than month. I had since bought a 2 pack because they were on sale and i wanted to have extras on hand but those are going back today! I’ll try something else but I’m done with these!

Because of the great price, I stocked up and bought two 2-packs. After three months, I’m alredy on the fourth bulb. The first one lasted over two months, the second one lasted a week, and the third one popped and died as I was screwing it in. I’ve used these in the past, and I’ve never had these issues. Maybe the low price is due to them not meeting quality standards?

My bearded dragon’s bulb went out so I went to the store to buy these bulbs. Never had bought them before. I never will buy again. Just gently screwing in the bulb to the lamp, I had both bulbs crack at the neck of the bulb, which leaves me with no bulb for my bearded and now I have to go out and purchase more.

I bought this 2 pk back in Dec of 2015. Price wise it was not really any cheaper than the single one, but I was thinking it would be nice to have a spare lamp incase the 1st one burnt out. The pkg claims that these lamps will last up to 2000 hours. UP TO 2000 hours. Didn’t even come close. I have already gone through both lamps. The 2nd one died in April. I have another lamp (don’t know the brand) that has been working for 3 years! These didn’t even last 5 months. I only have my lamps on for 5 hours a day. So, these lamps should have lasted 400 days! Try 4 months. Will never buy a zoo med lamp again. The price on this website is not bad, but in a brick and mortar store in Hawaii the time I got for the price is ridiculous! Buy at your own risk.

I wouldn’t buy these bulbs from anyone. Find a new brand. These have blown out so fast every time I buy them. The last pack I bought was a 2 pack. I just replaced first bulb from the pack after 9 days! Spending $30 to have the first bulb blow after 9 days is ridiculous. Recommend buying another brand as these are very unreliable.

Let me shed some light on this as everyone here does not seem to know much about incandescent bulbs. For one you can’t screw them in while the light is on, will burn out in a minute, and two, you cannot move the light while it is on, or they will burn out in a day or longer. This is from a long time electrician who has many years of lighting experience. For best and longest last, buy rough service bulbs they will last longer when moved around a lot.

I got this for my bearded dragon. The first one lasted 3 months and kept my 50 gallon tank nice and warm, however the second one, only lasted a bit over 1 week. The third is still working fine, hopefully for a while longer. >.<

These bulbs have definitely gone down in quality these constantly burn out after a couple weeks and recently one blew out as in the glass separated from the base I am just happy that it was on a screen or that hot glass would have landed on my beardie I will never buy these bulbs again they are hot garbage pun intended.

Sometimes a brand new light won’t work at all, sometimes it may explode when you first turn it on. I’d say about 30% of the time, there’s at least one bad bulb in the box!

ZooMed claims a thousand hours life in each bulb. I use them 12 hours or less a day depending on the season. Have had several bulbs burn out after only 7-9 days. Worst one lasted 3 days. Never had one last a full 1000 hours. I am using the ZooMed lamp pulled into a properly rated outlet with the proper surge protector so it’s not a fault on this end. Can wait to afford a better turtle lighting system.

This is my #1 go to brand for basking bulbs. They tend to outlast other brands. I have a Zoo Med fixture plugged into a surge protector and tend to average 4-7 months from each bulb.

I have used these bulbs for 8 years. I don’t put them in til the lamp is cool. I don’t move these lights. I have an on off which that I run on timer. Each light last 6 to 8 months for me. Only issue I have had was buying a broken one.

I’ve had this bulb for less than a month. It daily run time is about 9 hours. I have the lamp suspended inside the cage so it doesn’t get hit/bumped/or knocked over. Went to turn the lap on (day 26). And a little smolder fre ignites at the base of the bulb. Here’s whats left, I had to manually rip the sleeve out because it was fused in there practically.

AVE rate.. I’ve had bulbs last a few days & bulbs last many months.. It could have been the DOME LAMP that went bad, or the bulb blowing out the dome… causing blown fuses more than once, I just do not know.. Anyhow I keep 2 of these and an extra DOME handy, should there be any issue for our beardie. I recommend the CERAMIC HEAT lamps for night warmth… They’ve been great!
