Beware! I have had this fixture for not even 6 months. Brittle Wiring, First the light was cutting out randomly. then noticed small sparks in the switch when turning the light on or off. I decided to just rewire the socket with a better switch so I disassembled the fixture. The wiring from the socket terminals to the grommet were absolutely fried, brittle and crumbled as I removed the grommet.

Broke first hour in and melted a digit into a ceramic heat emmiter.

I liked the the Lamp had a long cord, the lamp dome is deep.

This is the third bulb in 2 months. I even bought a new holder for the bulb. The bulbs are $35 each it’s crazy

Sinus infection & turtle don’t go together but adding warmth day & night does plus other things. This dome helped achieve it!

It’s a nice dome, however, it’s quite annoying that petsupplycanada doesn’t carry the larger version of this. This 15 inch dome is only safe with up to 75watts, the bigger one is for bulbs up to 160watts. 75 watt bulbs are for itty bitty starter tanks, and barely heat anything. Only giving it 5 stars because there’s nothing wrong with the dome.

I’ve bought multiples of these and will keep buying them as they are great light dome especially for the price!

I needed a light that would emit heat into my
terrarium to help the humidity for my reptile to help her immune system & this did the trick. So much more sturdier than lights w/ceramic, fragile basis.

As mentioned in another review the bulbs keep burning out. And bulbs aren’t cheap. Something is definitely wrong with this fixture.

I bought this a few weeks ago and was worried about the heat of a 150watt bulb but it withstands the heat emission just fine for an infrared bulb. A bit pricey but works great.

This should not be used with a ceramic heat emitter, which it does not state on the box. It burned out my bulb and started smoking heavily after a loud sound.

Bought this back in December 2022, it burned out after a month and returned it to get replaced just for it to last until the beginning of June, this time it burned out causing the bulb to fracture and break off. Don’t buy these exo Terra fixtures.

“6 inches”… what is 6 inches??? diameter? interior height? exterior height? Some context would be nice. Why can’t manufacturers and the sellers include helpful information?
