This product is meant to be fed to growing puppies and pregnant or nursing adult dogs. Puppies should be fed 3 meals per day up to 6 months of age and then twice a day. Provide daily amounts of food divided into the smaller meals. Moisten food until just soft for the early weaning period. Pick up left over food and discard in order to maintain freshness. As puppies grow teeth and can bite dry food, reduce the amount of water added to the food.

PREGNANT AND NURSING DOGS Adjust feeding amounts in order to maintain ideal body condition. Feed multiple meals per day with daily amounts divided into smaller meals. Can be moistened. For pregnant dogs, minimal increase is needed during first 6 weeks of pregnancy. After 6 weeks, until whelping, increase amount of food up to 25% more than normal adult maintenance amounts. For nursing dogs, begin increasing amount fed immediately after whelping. Depending on the size of the litter, the amounts needed to maintain ideal body condition will increase up to 50% more than normal adult maintenance amounts.

PUPPIES Adjust feeding amounts to maintain steady growth and ideal body condition throughout your puppy’s growth period. Puppies that become larger adult dogs will grow more slowly and for more months than small dogs. Feed large breed puppies (greater than 70 lbs. as an adult) 15% less than amount listed in chart.
Amounts will depend on age, activity, environment and temperament. Helping to decrease dog obesity means keeping your puppy at ideal body condition throughout itsgrowth and early adulthood.

Puppies that become small/medium size dogs (up to 70 LB) can be transitioned to Natural Balanc”s Adult Maintenance Dog Food Formulas at 9-12 months. Puppies that become larger size dogs (over 70 LB) can be transitioned to Natural Balance’s Adult Maintenance Dog Food Formulas at 12-18 months.

Keep clean water available at all times.

    Transition Instructions:
When switching your dog’s diet, Natural Balance recommends that it be done gradually over a 5-7 day period.

I began using this years ago when one of my dogs suffered severe diarrhea. I tried numerous foods with no luck until I tried NB Duck and Potato. It was not a miracle cure but it helped dramatically. I’ve fed it to all my dogs ever since and they have been exceptionally healthy. And they love it!

We have a 6 month old Bernedoodle and have tried at least 5 other puppy foods but could never get him to the point of solid poo and he always had super stinky gas. Within 24 hours of introducing this to our pup we could already see a difference. By day 3 his poo was solid and he had hardly any gas. He has been on it a couple of weeks now and is doing great and growing like a weed! I never thought I would be excited to go out and pick up dog poo, lol! The food is a wee bit pricey but it’s worth every penny to not have to hose down the grass every time the dog poops.

It’s one of the only brands that has a good variety. My dog is allergic to chicken and so much of the dog food out there has it as a by product.

Our puppy loves it! It is good for his digestive system too.

My pup loves this food. He is a picky eater. He preferred the donut shaped kibble but does eat three min chunk style I like that it is limited ingredient and healthy

My 4 months old husky puppy had a lot of tummy issues, she had irregular stool, and a lot of itching. After I switched her to this, she is in a healthier weight, her stool is consistent and healthy, not smelly, and she has god energy and mild temper. On top of it all, she loves it. I am very happy with this.

I was a little hesitant to try this since it’s grain free and our vet discourages grain free food these days. Our Bernedoodle puppy has tried 3 foods though and they have all caused GI issues so we were ready to give up grain. She did better almost right away. We transitioned slowly by mixing this food with rice and a small amount of her other food. Unfortunately, she just doesn’t like this food. She ate it at first but after a week or so, she doesn’t want to eat it at all. I have to add another food in and then we are right back to the GI issues again. We aren’t going to stick with this one. It was much better than Pro Plan large breed chicken, Royal Canin and Wellness Complete for GI issues though. It really was a big improvement. I will say though without the rice, the gas was terrible! Ha! We had to keep adding rice to it. That kept the vet happy so it was all good.

My gsd puppy had constant diarrhea and itchy skin and hair loss. His vet diagnosed him with food allergies and after unsuccessfully trying different foods, the vet put him on prescription food which worked for the itching skin but he was still itching his ears a lot and his diarrhea worsened and he would occasionally throw up. After researching I decided to transition him to this food. EVEN during the transition (mixing his old food with the new) his stools hardened. Now he has had solid stool for a month and his coat is so shiny and his hair is growing better than ever! No more bald spots on his ears.

Our fur babies love the taste and it is good for their digested system

Our puppy had diarrhea from the time we got her. The vet never thought it was the food, but all other tests came back negative. We finally switched to this food and within a day, her poops were back to normal. We switched to duck and potato because it only has one protein source and the carb source (potato, sweet potato) was something not in any of the other foods we tried. The kibbles are really small and can be used for training treats too. She loves the food and we’re so happy not to have to worry endlessly about her digestion now 😀

I have purchased this dog food for my dogs because they are allergic to most dry dog foods that have chicken in it this dry kibble is only mostly for snacking because I feed home made food for them

Bought this for my new puppy. She really likes it but I’m not sure there’s enough protein in it as she still seems hungry all the time

The kibble is very big and hard for small puppies. My puppy also didnt like the taste, but it was very hard for her to chew, shes 25cm and weight about 5kg, so she’s not so small. I think this would be good for larger puppies.

this food is 45% carbs which is sugar. it makes my 10 week old puppy run around like a manic. then when the sugar wears off she’s knocked out. food like this contributeS to canine diabetes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

My 6 month old goldendoodle has been on this food for a couple of months now and it absolutely saved us. He was eating Purina pro plan puppy and having itchy skin, constant very soft poops and week long episodes of diarrhea. I read the reviews for this food and decided to give it a go! One week later, his stools were firm and he was no longer itching. It’s much more expensive but so worth a healthy pup. He gobbles it right down!
