We had a hard time getting him to eat for over a month, no matter what we added to his food. He was a rescue and wasn’t in top health to being with but his fussyness made matters worse. His ribs were showing and his coat was ruff. One trip to the pet store I began speaking to the Nutro specialist and she made the product sound great. We decided to try it and Rome loves it! Now as soon as he hears you scoop his food he stays at your side until you serve him and he chows down in one sitting! His coat has improved tremendously and he is now a healthy weight.

Jornada Veterinary Clinic sent out a post of what to and what not to feed your dogs, and Nutro was one of the main brands on the list. They stated that the FDA has recently found this brand to be linked to canine heart failure. We recently switched my puppy over to Nutro because the ingredients presume to be ideal for animals, but they do not list all of the ingredients on the bag or the website. My pup does not eat this food and has lost weight because he will not even lick the bites. He has gotten sick the few times he has eaten the food. He has zero allergies to any foods, not even dairy, so that could not be the issue. I do not recommend this brand to anyone looking for healthy dog food.

i started my litter of 10 puppies on the nutro natural choice large breed puppy but ended up switching after doing research on dog food. There are several good sites out there that explain what you should be looking for in dry dog food and that meat should be the 1st few ingredients which your brand didn’t have and on a rating of 1-5 stars with 5 being the best yours rated only a 3 so I switched to a higher rated. I am not saying that Nurto is bad, it is defintely better than supermarket brands and does have some good ingredients but for the ingredients you do have I find there are better foods out there for the same or lower price. For the ratings and ingredients of your food I found it to be very expensive

I have been purchasing NUTRO products for years (12 plus), for my previous pets. My current pet Bear, a German Rottweiler has been on Nutro Natural Large Breed Puppy food from the beginning. He is currently one and a half years old and he is the picture of perfect health. I never have had any problems with the transition and never have puppies with diarrhea from the day I start the weaning process. It grinds up in the blender very easily for the first 2 weeks and then it is on to wet down whole kibble. My puppies never gain allot of fat as the ratio is perfect. I recommend my puppy buyers keep them on this food until they are 5 months old and then switch to an All Growth Formula. I am very pleased with this product.

I got a bag of this for my 4 month old German Shepherd because of the good reviews and it was a mistake!
After about a week and a half my puppy would throw up in his kennel around 5:30am-6:30am, like clockwork. A yellow bile substance. I thought it was because of the late night treats he would get before bed, but when I cut those out he would still do it 3 nights a week. He was also consistently gaining 3lbs a week on the food we started him out on, which was Purina One Large Breed puppy Food. Well, the past 2 weeks he has maintained and even lost a pound. Did some digging on the food and it is apparently a thing with Nutro, the throwing up in the middle of the night. I feel bad that he was on it for as long as he was! The last straw was him throwing up all of his undigested dog food and I knew it was the food for sure.

The large breed food contains all the nutrions that a large dog needs. The name says it all Natural Choice. If you want the full potential out of your dog. Ever since a Nutro rep recommended me to switch I have noticed a GREAT difference in both my pets skin/coat. Their coat is not as dull, softer, and sheds less. Nutro Large Breed Puppy food is not full of fillers or animal parts that no dog should be eating. I’ve researched many dog foods and have even talked to many dog food company reps, and I can say we get the best results with Nutro. The first thing you notice when you open any bag of Nutro pet food, is it doesn’t smell like grease or have that strong dog food odor. That’s because it’s not full of fillers & parts. My dogs have beautiful coats and happy digestive systems. Nutro is 5 start!

This dog food was great for awhile, but then it stopped showing signs of healthy skin, hair, breath, and other things. The moment my dog was ‘used’ to the food, his bowel movements and gas were horrible. I had to change because it was so bad. Now, my dog is happier, healthier, and more energetic. This may work for your dog, but it didn’t work for mine.

We have been using Nutro food for about 35 years, through 4 cats and 4 dogs. Our current rescue mixed puppy mutt loves this food! Can’t go wrong with this food, for either cats or dogs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a pittbull/australian shepard mix who has been eating nutro natural choice large breed puppy (chicken & rice) since she was a baby. We adopted her at two months and had trouble finding a food she liked and didn’t upset her stomach. We put her on natural choice around 4 months and she hasn’t eaten anything else since. We chose this food because we wanted something that would help her body and muscles develop properly and was also healthy and good for her. This was the perfect food for her it didn’t hurt her sensitive stomach and had all natural ingredients. She just turned 1 and is 70lbs and will now be switched to nutro natural choice large adult breed food.

She sadly contracted the parvo virus 2 weeks ago but after treatment she was back to her old active self and gained her weight back very quickly while eating the Nutro. We even went back to the Nutro earlier then recomended because she rather eat that then the yummy wet dog food the vet gave us. I am thankful to have my puppy back and glad Nutro is keeping her happy and healthy and beautiful 🙂

I’ve been feeding my English Mastiff this food since shortly after she came home with me at 8 weeks. She loves it. She eats is 3x a day and it works great compared to other “natural” brands whose products upset her stomach. Easy to chew and easy to digest. Gives her all the right nutrients. I would strongly recommend this for large breeds. Even the Nutro senior food for smaller breeds is doggie approved as our 14 year old beagle loves it as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 2 generations of Bernese Mountain Dogs under our roof, 3 dogs, so we’ve seen the results and this food grows strong, healthy dogs with very nice coats. Our first dog’s breeder had our boy on this food as was his mother and we put our two puppies on it as well. Other littemates who were fed inferior product by the breeder we bred our boy with developed stomach/potty issues after they got to their forever homes. We never did once we got them home and on Nutro Large Breed Puppy. I owe that to this product. Thanks for helping us grow strong, beautiful dogs. Everywhere we go we get compliments, and we weren’t looking for any as we like to keep to ourselves. Our dogs have really opened us up as well as the people they meet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had 4 litters of Rottweiler puppies. I had used other puppy foods on the last 3. The puppies did fine. This last litter I fed Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy Food and it was wonderful. The puppies picked up on food alot easier and ate alot better. The weaning process from the mother was excellent. The Vet was really impressed on the growth and health of these puppies. I took a test and gave my older Rottis alittle of the puppy food to see if they liked it. They loved it. Now they are on Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Adult. They love it. I will stay with Nutro, because it seems to be doing a great job on our Rottis. They are really looking great. I wish I had tried it when they were puppies. Thanks Nutro!

I purchased a very large bag of this food. I have a pure bred Golden Retriever who is under 6 months. I want her to have the best food. I feed my cat this brand. And when my other Golden was alive, she was fed the same food. I highly recommend this product.

My picky boys would not eat just anything, but once I found Natural Choice Large Breed Puppy, they wouldn’t eat anything else! His name is Sterling and with this food his poos are extreamly reasonablity sized and there are not a lot of waste to it. I live in a apt complex and the food makes it very easy to pick up with the poopy bags. His health is very lively and spunky..and his coat is soft and very healty looking. He gets comments on how he looks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My previous dogs all ate Nutro, they were show dogs and all the show dogs ate Nutro. So my handler had me hooked on Nutro. When I got my English Mastiff my little boy has been eating Nutro Large Breed Puppy from the day we got him and his coat is beautiful. He doesn’t have as many stools as with a cheaper less nutritious dog food, so i know he is getting the things he needs. He eats a large bag every 3 weeks, I expect him to eat more but regardless we will not be changing to a different brand. We even found him a little girlfriend so now I have two English Mastiff’s. I tell everyone about Nutro. I hate seeing pet owners buying cheap dog food then crying about how much they use the bathroom. If they knew anything about nutrition then they would not be feeding their dogs a bunch of fillers and none edible food.
