When we adopted our 2 new boys we wanted to ensure we also gave them a good life. We started with adequate living space (20sq ft), then started researching nutrition, and learned that the oxbow wevs been using is the best you can provide. The number 1 ingredient is timothy grass, no artificial fillers, and contains all the needed vitamins and minerals. Which is so important because guinea pigs cant make or atore vitamin c. We know that Timothy grass is a Vital part of their diets, but my family is severely allergic, so this feed is an excellent way to get that in. And Oxbow’s assortment of hays allow our piggies to have unlimited hay, while keeping my family healthy. We now only buy Oxbow products for our piggies, and other small pets. This pellet is the foundation of a healthy life.

If you thought you detected a note of sarcasm in the title of this review, you’re a sharp one! But it doesn’t mean the product isn’t good — it is. Oscar the guinea pig likes it, and it has the vitamins and minerals he needs. It seems fresh enough, is fairly priced, and you don’t have to order it from a weed farm in Hawaii run by organic hippies who call it “artisanal pellets”. I love my Oscar, but he’s a rodent and he couldn’t care less about such nonsense. My last guinea pig lived almost 8 healthy years on these pellets, high quality hay and lots of veggies, so Oxbow is doing it’s job. Sorry, I’m not going to take a photo of some green pellets, but use your imagination.

He seems to eat it, but we do usually mix it with some other pellets and his remaining young pig version. He is a pretty light eater, but I think if you do not have several pigs, then this should last you awhile. The bag is heavy and it does not stay closed super well, so I recommend transferring it to a bucket.
