The recommended feeding amounts indicated are based upon the average nutritional needs of an adult dog with a normal activity level (using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup, which contains approximately 117 g of Purina ONE). Factors, such as a dog’s metabolism, breed size, activity level, age and whether the dog is spayed or neutered, will affect the amount of Purina ONE needed to maintain an ideal body condition. The pet experts at Purina have provided the feeding amounts indicated as a starting point. If you find that your dog is losing weight or becomes overweight when fed these amounts, please adjust accordingly. To help your dog maintain an ideal body condition, monitor your dog’s weight on a regular basis, making sure that their ribs are easily felt and their waist is visible when viewed from above. Maintaining an ideal body condition can impact your dogs lifelong health. Itâs Not For All Dogs: Purina ONE Skin and Coat Formula is specifically formulated for adult dogs. If you have a puppy, or a pregnant or nursing dog, feed Purina ONE Plus Healthy Puppy. May Be Served Dry Or Moistened: Purina ONE may be fed dry or mixed with water. If mixed, we suggest one part liquid to four parts Purina ONE. Feed Only ONE: A dog’s digestive system works best when it receives the same food each day. Although humans crave variety in their diets, dogs do not. Feeding different dog foods can turn your dog into a finicky eater. Avoid feeding table scraps, as they can upset the nutrient balance provided by your dog’s regular food, and may lead to obesity. The best way to feed your dog is to feed only one dog food each and every day. Making The Switch To Purina ONE: Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your dog, please allow 7 – 10 days to ease the transition from their current food. Each day, simply feed alittle less of the previous food and a little more Purina ONE until you’re feeding Purina ONE exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. No Supplements Necessary: Purina ONE provides 100% complete and balanced nutrition for maintenance of adult dogs. There is no need to add vitamins, minerals or other supplements, unless specifically directed by a veterinarian. Freshwater, Proper Diet & Veterinary Care: Be sure to provide fresh water in a clean container for your dog daily. Proper diet, exercise and veterinary care are the best ways to keep your dog healthy. If your dog hasn’t had a check-up in the past year, please make an appointment today.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My GSD has really bad itching problem. So I bought this hoping it would help. I guess it did help for a bit. However, it gave him really loose stools which never happened on a regular basis before (only when we switched his food). We tried for 2 weeks. Anyhow, I don’t think it’s a bad product. I just think it’s just not a right product for my dog.
Kali69 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My Kali loves this food. She has energy to burn. She may be small (7 pound) but she has the energy of a big dog.

I had to switch to this food after a price increase with a different food. My Rottweiler German Shepherd mix loves it, has had no stomach issues with eating it, but the kibble is so small! He takes in too much at once, I wish the pieces were a bit bigger.
Jmh (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This food my dog s love. The salmon is delicious! I would definitely recommend this food.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seemed to help our Lab’s sensitive stomach and his coat is super shiny. He also seems to love the taste of the food.
tim1 (verified owner) –
This product when it was sensitive systems was fantastic with my dogs. Since Purina switched the formula (I called and was told nothing changed but he broth ingredients), my dog throws up daily. Will be moving away from Purina as this skin and coat is not a sensitive system product any longer. Very disappointed.
Anonymous (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Dogs cleaned their bowls when I fed them this. They have sensitive skin , & can be picky eaters but they love this dog food.
Bolabulu (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are concerned about your dog healthy coat and itching that I highly recommend this flavor and brand. I see an improvement in my Dino and he is a happy dog now.
Billypdx (verified owner) –
Boy did I screw up. I was near the end of my Purina one bag and got sucked in to a sale for so called premium grain free dog food (Supreme). This boutique dogfood had the same salmon as a main ingredient but the next ingredients were all legumes plus seaweed and a variety of so called naturals. The online reviews were great so I was sold. Of course my dog hated it but I tried doctoring with water and crushed up biscuits. She reluctantly ate it but she was pooping about 3 times as normal. I was running out of bags on our walk and her breath stank. I learned my lesson and back to Purina. Happy owner and happy dog.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My German Shepherd/Husky mix has developed skin allergies this year. After the process of elimination, I narrowed the allergy down to the dry dog food he was eating. I switched to the Purina One Skin and Coat formula and it has really made a difference.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only way I could do that was if you had to do a lot more work and then you would
Kels1787 (verified owner) –
First bag I bought, dogs couldn’t get enough. I noticed a lot of places where I buy dog food we’re out. Finally got a bag… it takes me everything to get them to eat it. I noticed them puking more, eating grass. So I have 2 bags I won’t be able to use… I hate having to transitions my pups food. I’m not sure what’s up. 🙁
Stephanie224 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this food because my vet highly recommends salmon. 2 of my 4 dogs have sensitive stomachs sometimes and this food has been great. Their coats are all so shiny too!
Latricia (verified owner) –
Unfortunately neither of my dogs liked this. They love the large breed formula, but one of my dogs was still having some tummy issues so I switched to this. They refused to eat it. I’ll be switching them back to the large breed formula. I would still recommend this, it just wasn’t for my boys.
Tractbgk (verified owner) –
I bought this because it was recommended for my dogs itchy skin. I really havent seen any difference in his skin. He loves the food but you still cant touch him without him itching as soon as you do
Bjones (verified owner) –
I tried the 28 day challenge and my cats love the food. We will be buying more of this. My cats upset stomach has improved alot.
Oscar (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purina never disappoints always has the best product for the best price and I know I can trust the brand.
Basiaaax3 (verified owner) –
This used to be great. My dog has a sensitive stomach so he reacts when something is different with his food. Ever since I bought this new bag right after Christmas his stomach has not been right since. I know you say that the formula hasn’t changed but something has changed enough where my dogs stomach is upset. Will probably have to switch foods yet again to find something to fit him, which sucks because I basically have a 30lb bag of dog food that I can’t use.
hayleyreviewseveryth (verified owner) –
He loves it! It has two different textures which I think he’s enjoys. It’s good on his stomach as well! Vet recommended this brand too!

All 3 have tolerated the switch with no stomach issues. And as a plus it saves me money compared to what I was feeding.
Manda83 (verified owner) –
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) My dogs skin is incredibly dry, especially at change of season. However with the skin and coat she’s looking shiny, full and isn’t chewing at her skin nearly as much!!
He coat looks thick and glossy!!
She’s a happy girl!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for my fur babies’ stomachs and coats. All three pups love it and can’t wait for meal time!
MelissaR2 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was highly optimistic going into this challenge. Our dog has had a reaction to every dog food blend we’ve tried. And each time either he got sick or his skin reacted. We talked to the vet and we were considering a specialized diet. Then I saw an ad for a purina one trial and thought well it’s worth a shot. Secretly I doubted it would be any different.
Well, here we are about two months or so in and his skin is clear, his hair has grown back and he hasn’t been sick once!!!! I am a believer! My only wish is it came in big dog bites because my baby just so happens to be a Saint Bernard lab mix.
Oh and it’s more affordable and more plentiful in stores than the integer brands we’ve tried!!
Oli (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog has been constantly itching from very specific food allergies. I tried a lot of different foods, some really expensive ones, but he has done the best on this. Even his eye boogers cleared up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Dalmatian had several skin allergies and when I switched to Skin and Coat he improved greatly
Wendy D (verified owner) –
This food is like a miracle worker. My 9 year old dog had skin issues, was itchy and her coat was extremely oily and stinky to the point you did not want to pet her. I experimented with shampoos and grain free foods. Nothing helped until I decided to try Sensitive Systems formula. After a few couple weeks, she was a completely different dog. No smell, more active like she is a pup again, itching gone, beautiful thick fur and nails. I love this food! I learned to watch the portion because she was putting on weight but that was adjustable. Wish I had found this sooner. It completely changed our lives and our interaction with her! Excellent product. Don’t ever change the formula. I don’t know what ingredients made the difference. I had used Purina One chicken and rice for many years when she had issues. The Sensitive Systems formula is a complete game changer! And she enjoys it as well. Thank you!!
DSchiavy (verified owner) –
My dogs love this food and I also noticed no allergies to the food. Very happy!
Tibs 480 (verified owner) –
Formula change?I have been feeding Purina one sensitive systems dog food to my dogs for years…. One of my dogs has really severe allergies, and has to have a fish-based dog food. I order my dog food online, and when I opened the latest shipment was shocked to see the change. While you say there has been no change in the formula, like one person before me,I do not remember chicken meal, oatmeal, dried peas, or carrots in the old sensitive systems dog food… Not only that but the smell has changed and the kibble appearance. While I may be able to feed this to one of my dogs… I Most definitely cannot feed it to the one with allergies… And since I don’t want to have to buy two separate dog foods I will be looking for another dog food from another company…

My rescued dog has been a finicky eater for the 3 years with me. I’ve tried everything. FINALLY Purina One Sensitive System is making him enjoy eating every meal! I’m thrilled! Thank you for this product!
Dottie23 (verified owner) –
My dog is allergic to chicken, but you recommend this product for skin allergies. According to my vet I can not feed this to our dog because of the chicken.

My dog have always thrived on purina dog food fro puppy to adult an have always been healthy an happy.
Brettotte1 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really loves the soft pieces in it which I assume is the meat but I’ll never know
Tatt (verified owner) –
Beware – This food is not the same as the sensitive systems variety. My dog has had non-stop digestive issues (vomiting, gas) and now a rash while on this food. It’s too bad because we spent so much time finding a food he would tolerate. And now we are back to square one having to find a food that will work for him. This is absolutely not the same formula and my poor dog is miserable!
Sasha (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the few dog foods that my dog likes and she doesn’t get an allergic reaction too. Highly recommend this food if your dog has allergies or stomach issues.
BNJ (verified owner) –
Our 3 dogs love the salmon food and they all have stopped scratching and licking their paws so much. Their coats also, look so healthy. However, price is a bit excessive..
Usafmommy (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If your dog itches lot this might be good food for your dog since I started feeding my dogs this they don’t dig much anymore and dry skin much better
Annie432 (verified owner) –
All of my dogs have always used Purina products and we’ve never been disappointed. I am a huge fan of Purina products and have on occasion thought to venture out to differing brands and even succumb to marketing scams and food fads like grain free, dehydrated, and all the like. All have been a waste of money and had less than positive effects of my pups: bad coats, bad breath, terrible stools, disinterest, and weight loss. I’ve always come right back to Purina and all issues cleared up immediately.
This formula has always been my dogs’ favorite and the one that’s addressed one of their sensitive skin and stomach issues perfectly. It’s got perfect protein to fat ratio and high calorie content for my active cattle dogs.
They’ve eaten Purina since they were pups and will continue to eat Purina even when old. This is the brand I trust and has always performed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Chocolate lab who has really bad allergies and this food has really helped. He absolutely loves it and I have been using it for a while now. I have a few other things to try and get him to stop but nothing worked.
BonesandCoal (verified owner) –
Why is it so hard to find this type of sensitive systems salmon flavor? I’ve been ordering 31.1 lb bags fir months. And now I can’t find any? I have two big chow chows who absolutely LOVE this stuff. Won’t touch anything else.
Anniebananie (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most important reason that we love Purina One is that my dog, Jersey loves it. It is healthy and good for her. She had a sensitive belly. The food is easy to find at stores, too.
Midgetsquirt78 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog loves this food. I mixed it with Purina one wet food and he ate every last bite. I’m trying to get weight on him

My pup is older in age and I decided to try a new food. I was a little sceptical at first but with the new food my dog got a new vigor for life. It has helped with her arthritis and given her a pep in her step. Shes more playful like when she was a pup and loves the taste of the food. I'm very pleased with the results both physically and emotionally. This food is a must try.
MylaRox (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love the small smaller size. My dogs do well on Parina propane and Parina one in this particular variety does not disappoint. I have an almost 15-year-old sensitive stomach dog and she handles this food very well and I have too young around two-year-olds that are also doing great on it
Stella81 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I switched my lab from Purina puppy chow to this product at 14 months. She had no problem digesting the food during the transition. Her coat is shiny and thick and her skin looks healthy. I think the kibble size is a little small for a large breed dog though.
PunksMom (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our little pumpkin developed a very sensitive stomach. After trying so many different foods this one finally works.
Mommy33101 (verified owner) –
My Golden Retriever used to do great on this. Not long after they changed the recipe to include Chicken, she became so itchy to the point of infection and hair falling out. I didn't realize that it was reformulated. Now she is on a more expensive food that I can't afford so I keep checking back to see if you take out the Chicken! I am amazed reading positive reviews from people with dogs allergic to chicken. Read the ingredients people!
Shayster (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am impressed with this product. My little 10 pound poodle. Mix had severe itching, and her hair lacked fullness and her tail had bald spots. Since putting her on this food, I’ve taken her off her Vet rx food. Her hair has filled in on her tail, the color’s actually a richer apricot now and she’s doing much better with the itching and hotspots. I am moving my other dog to this food to keep them both on same diet of Salmon based food. I’ve tried so many foods/Vet Rx foods and she has done the best on this one.
Sharynzilla (verified owner) –
I don’t remember seeing chicken by-product on the ingredients list for this food, but it’s definitely on the newly named Skin & Coat ingredients list. My little guy has an allergy to chicken so we are discontinuing using all Purina products sadly.
unhappyhusky (verified owner) –
I have an extremely active 3-year-old husky. He had great muscle tone and a high activity level on his previous food, which for some reason he decided he no longer liked. I switched him to this food as he has a sensitive stomach, and I liked that it had a high calorie content and a decent protein level. However, we very quickly started having issues. His normal activity level went down. He seemed to have less energy. I still exercised him to help keep up the muscle mass, but it still decreased. With the decreased energy and muscle, he started putting on fat. In a matter of a couple weeks, I no longer have my toned and fit boy. In search of another food with a better quality protein to help get that muscle back. He did like the taste of the food, and it did seem to be gentle on his stomach and digestion.
Rensanit (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were looking for a new food for our new rescue dog with a picky palette and sensitive skin and found this! It’s grain inclusive, budget friendly, and specialized for sensitive skin. Not to mention vets seem to think it’s a decent food option. She loves it, especially with toppers. Will be buying again.
Tiffusmc (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My male lab is 6 months old and has had a sensitive tummy since he was born this dog food gives him a very shiny healthy coat while settling his tummy. He enjoys the flavor and never hesitates for feeding time. He loves it!!
LaReinna (verified owner) –
I was using a higher end dog food and she was having allergies. My vet recommended this particular formula. Honestly, Purina I said. I got it and she loves the flavor, her skin is doing great and the price is excellent. Autumn and I are very happy customers. My daughters are now using it for their dogs.
Hottea115 (verified owner) –
I am so thankful for this food. Our dog has had soft stool (not able to pick up mostly) since we got her at 8 weeks of age. It has been awful with her apparent stomach issues. Nothing wrong at the vet and tested for everything. We’ve tried SO MANY THINGS from probiotics, (which made matters worse), to prebiotics, to supplements to over priced food. Even a bland chicken and rice diet did nothing. Enter this sensitive systems food. Hallelujah!! Perfect poop. I know it’s not advertised for that but it worked in 2 weeks and we have a clean yard without hosing after each bowel movement which was such a pain. Please don’t stop making this!!

Both of my cats ate this new dry food right away and the results with Goldie were evident right away. Even though they have always eaten Purina One, she had some issues with throwing up after eating. That has really diminished. Still happens some, but not nearly like before. And our other cat, Boo seems to be cleaning and licking less and dry skin seems better. Still give them some chicken and Salmon flavors, but mostly Sensative Stomach and Skin. They also eat the Savory Centers every day and love them.

My senior dog has been on the sensitive system now called skin and coat since she was 1 and is now 15 years old and doing get with only addition being hip and joint supplement about 2 years ago added to her daily feeding. She still doing great. The dog I had when she was a puppy was having horrible gas and upset tummy one regular Purina dog chow so I switched to thos and had her , a large dog 16 almost 17 years. I currently have a younger dog that was having diarrhea poops a lot and then still real mushy poops for a long time. After puppy chow large breed we tried on this but no change. Went to pro plan sensitive stomach formula and God much better. After 2 years we have started him back on this Purina One formula again and he is doing fine. Though it is richer so he gets less cups. He doesn’t like that, lol. But I give him a large raw carrot to munch after meals and he is happy. Plus teeth clean from the carrot. Please do not get rid of this formula!
Mila brody (verified owner) –
I switched to this because both my dogs have skin alergies and itch all the time ….they arnt to fond of the taste but they eventually will eat it. I did notice a difference in the itching. I still continue benadryl 1-2 times daily along with antifungal shampoo and spray relieves there flaky flare ups. If your considering buying this BEWARE OF THE SMELL its takes some time getting used to.

My three pups love the Purina brand of foods, especially the Purina ONE® +Plus Skin & Coat Formula and the Purina ONE® True Instinct with Real Beef & Salmon! I mix the two together and there is never a morsel left behind. The fact that it is more affordable than many other brands is a huge bonus!

My new adoption, Buddy has a very sensitive stomach. It took almost a year, but thanks to Purina One Sensitive ….Buddy is doing very well and full of energy. I was spending and arm and leg on his past dog food. I love this price of this and both my dogs love the food.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My pups love the size/shapes of the kibble. We mix the kibble with Purina wet dog food for a delicious combination meal. We have been feeding the pups Purina one after having tried several other brands. Purina is the only brand which I would recommend to anyone. It’s good for the pups, coat, stomach, and overall health.

Sheepmaid (verified owner) –
I tried this when my regular food was unavailable. Palatability is fine and the dogs tolerate it fine but tyhe micro-sized kibble just doesn’t work for me. I ue puzzle toys for feeding and I use individual kibble for training. This just pours out of puzzles and is impossible to grasp with my disabilities making it useless for training. If it had 5 lb dogs the kibble might be okay but I’ll be glad to get it used upc and gone for my 40 lb dogs The food it self is fine, just doesn’t work for my feeding style

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent food for the price. My GSD has skin issues and I hope this helps with that
Coreyannder (verified owner) –
I fed my two dogs this food for years, years ago. Out of all kibble they have tried this was their favorite, they were very eager to eat it. My local store stopped carrying this so I switched them to a different purina one kibble, which they still like. I found the smell of this kibble to be more pleasant than most. I liked that the kibble size was smaller as my dogs are 15 and 35 lbs. Their coats always looked healthy so I’m not sure if it made a difference coat wise but overall they did well on it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m very happy to have finally found a food my dog can enjoy without spending a fortune. My dear dog has allergies to many different foods and one allergy is to brewers yeast. This unfortunately is in almost every dog food. It took us some time but finally found this brand that doesn’t have any of the ingredients that my pup is allergic to. This is a good and surprisingly affordable brand. It is also available in many different stores so we don’t have to travel to find it. The other dog foods that had similar ingredients we found to be quite expensive and didn’t seem to be worth what was being charged. Now I have a healthy happy dog without breaking the bank. Thank you
Paisley8 (verified owner) –
My dog would get sick and throw up with all other dog foods that I tried. This is the first one to keep her tummy in check! She is healthy and vibrant, and I would definitely recommend (and already do) to everyone!
Winnie Shepherd (verified owner) –
I always compliment my dog on her shiny coat now after being on this dog food formula for a couple of months! When I passed by the package in the dog food aisle I really wanted to try it as she had a very dull coat, and she really liked this brand of food already. She thinks purina food is tail wagging good!

One has a sensitive stomach and this food has been a miracle. Veterinarian recommended at an affordable price!!!
edddreeb (verified owner) –
I bought this food on the advice of our vet when our dogs were itching for no obvious reason. Not sure if they were allergic to the old food (seems odd that two unrelated dogs would become sensitive to the same food at the same time), but they are much better now. Some of that is credited to the shot he gave them for immediate relief, but it's now been about a month and they are still good. I was surprised that he recommended Purina ONE because it's affordable, and I'm used to other vets always pushing the high-dollar brands. I thank Dr. Miller and Purina!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually get the healthy weight but when that’s not available the skin and coat formula is what I get. It’s really nice that it doesn’t upset their stomachs with a switch every now and then and it’s a bonus in the cold climate to help the dry, chapped skin.

I have a silver lab and every food I tried he always had skin issues and rashes and scratched non stop. Once I switched he has no issues and stopped scratching! So happy this works!

When our sproodle was about 1 1/2 years old he began vomiting frequently. He was also itching like crazy, and getting ear infections. When I told our veterinarian about his issues she had us try different foods/diets, but nothing was helping. It got so bad that he was beginning to lose weight. The vet finally suggested a sensitive stomach dog food…Purina Sensitive Systems was the only one my store carried so we gave it a try. He has been on this dog food for 8mo now! The vomiting stopped immediately, he's gained the weight back, the itching has all cleared up, and he hasn't had an ear infection since. He's one happy and healthy boy and I'm so relieved.

My German shepherd mix has environmental allergies and itches his skin like crazy. I switched to this food about 3 months ago thinking it would help. In the beginning I did see a difference and he couldn’t wait to eat the food. Now when I give it to him he doesn’t want it. He only goes to eat it after some time. Did the ingredients change? Unfortunately, I’ll be switching to something else.

MotherofDoggos (verified owner) –
so far so good for my picky and sensitive Aussie. We typically pick foods to cater to his needs, he has food allergies which irritates his skin, hes got a sensitive tummy and hes slightly over weight. He loves it and so does out terrier. It did not sit well with my border collie mix, which is unusual because he eats anything. I'm going back to Purina's dog food finder to find something for him.
Gazpacho42 (verified owner) –
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My GSD mix just switched from the purina chicken and rice formula to this salmon formula, and so far, she loves it. It’s been about three weeks since I started switching her onto this food, and this past week she has been fully transitioned. Her skin already seems to be better in terms of dandruff, and her coat is looking shiny and healthy. I would say, though, that this food has more caloric content than pretty much every other purina dry dog food, so make sure to adjust for that difference in portion sizes. Overall great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hank has had episodes of bad coat and skin problems. At times, he has had big bald spots, rash and itching. He has had to be on steroid shots. I started searching for better options. I have tried much more expensive skin and coat dog foods that made little to no difference. After being on this food for about 3 months, be looks and feels like a normal dog again. No steroid shot for 2 months.

I just adopted a mixed breed large dog about a year ago. I started him on an expensive grain-free brand, but he developed a sensitivity to it by the second bag. I must’ve gone through about 3 different brands before I finally found one that worked well with his digestive system. However, my pup got tired of it quickly. I switched to Purina One Sensitive Systems Salmon recently and my pup loves the taste; he can’t seem to get enough! And best of all, his tummy tolerates it well; no more gas and unpleasant poops.

I got the NEW True Instinct High Protein with real beef and salmon (which is not even listed in the drop down menu on this page to select) to test for the challenge. Best by date of July 2020. 90096001 1048L03 CODE.Although there is a feeding chart on the bag for dogs 3 to 10 lbs. NO 3 lb. dog will ever be able to eat this product without choking on it Tender, meaty morsels listed on the bag is a joke. My 10 lb Pomeranian had a difficult time chewing the larger extra rubbery pieces and she has perfect teeth. After trying to chew one, she spit it out, and ate the small kibble only. I actually tried to bite into one to see for myself what the texture was and why she didn't like it. I was shocked by it. Rubber is a good word for these. I fed these rubbery bits to the outdoor wildlife so half of the bag was not usable to my dog. Over all, I didn't notice any changes in her coat or activity level. She is a 8 year old couch potato and a very light eater, so she only eats a few pieces of kibble at a time and a vitamin supplement. Never ate enough to really make a noticeable difference in anything. A larger dog who eats a considerable amount may benefit more from this food and be able to eat the rubber like bits. I see listed in the ingredients no dyes, but caramel coloring which may not be good for sensitive dogs. My 10 cats eat nothing but Purina and love it, but this food was a washout for my dog.
Much Happier Doggy Momma (verified owner) –
My shelter rescue, that is a wire-haired terrier mix, had extremely itchy skin when we first adopted him. He would find anything he could to scratch his back raw on. He would even con the cows next store into licking his back for him! We tried different brands of dog foods, and also got different sprays and ointments trying to combat his itchy issues. We read about Purina One for Sensitive Systems, and gave it a try. It worked wonders on our dog. He no longer rubs against everything trying to itch. His coat is shiny, and even a bit softer for a wire-haired dog. The only downfall is the fishy breath, but that is a small price to pay for a much healthier dog! I have even recommended this friends who have allergy problems with their dogs.

My dog does wonderful on this food. He’s had skin issues since he was a puppy. I’ve always have had him on salmon formula dog food. He’s an active dog. I had to cut back on amount because he was gaining weight. It’s a great food and I highly recommend it. I’m switching him to purina pro plan salmon and rice. It’s less calories than purina one + skin and coat. That’s the only reason why I’m switching. Otherwise it’s a great food.
FunLovinLabs (verified owner) –
Our 12 year old lab had a serious allergic flair up. We were recommended to try the sensitive system by purina one and within the first five days could not believe the difference! She was growing hair back in places we had thought were permanently damaged from years of allergy related hair loss. 28 days later and she looks like she did when she was five! I can’t say enough good about this product!

We have given this to our boxer for years. When I went to get more this month, I noticed that the name has changed from the sensitive stomach to skin and coat. Plus the kibbles are so small like for a small dog and the smell is not the same. Our dog will not eat this so now we are going to have to find a different brand and throw away pretty much a whole lg bags worth. Not happy.

I’m not sure what is going on here. But I was using Purina one lamb and rice seemed great for my dog (large breed) (Rottweiler/black lab mix) but was told she had sensitive skin and stomach. Purchased this product because was recommended to switch her. Have been giving it to her for 2 days and she has had to most fowl smelling diherrea and runny poo for two days straight! I don’t know if the food just takes time for her to get used too or what. But I don’t know how sensitive it is for her cause it’s clearly doing a number on her stomach at the moment.
