I got the 40 gal and it was too large for the tank. i had to cut off about an inch to make it fit. it’s rarely easy to cut (i just used a knife). I wish it were the correct size and that’s why i give it 4 stars but other than that it looks amazing and she loves it.

Looks great in my enclosure however as soon as my dragon tries to climb it, the pieces chip off and it looks horrible. I have to be careful so he doesn’t eat the pieces. Very disappointed.

I got this for my leopard gecko and i loved how it looked. He could climb it which i liked because he could explore his enclosure more. I got the 20 gallon one and it fit perfectly. The only thing i did not like was how much space it took up in the tank, less space for decorations in the tank which is why i gave it 4 stars.

I bought it for the background for my beardie and he loves climbing on it and resting on it. Worth buy

It looks really nice and is super sturdy. But if you’re like me, you’re probably buying it to replace the background for an exo terra. It’s slightly too large. There’s a lip on the top edge that adds too much height to fit in an exo terra. I had to cut that lip off and put them in on their sides. The two panels are pushing against each other and holding themselves up now. Had to put in a little work, but it still looks nice

I didn’t feel like making a DIY background so i used this one as the starting point. The only thing is that i wish it was a bit more seamless when connecting each piece. I used this one all 4 sides of the terrarium and cutting it was easy. I used silicone to adhere it. Still working on planting and reviving the moss after a vacation lol , but it worked great

Got the slate background for my 20 gal long dart frog vivarium. I really like it for what it is. It looks great, takes up little space in the tank, and it’s a great value. I siliconed it to the tank. Be mindful there are gaps. I siliconed it higher up as I knew my substrate would use much of the bottom. Also I have no use for the access cavities in the back (I guess it’s for wires and cords) so I filled it with cotton. All in all it would cost about as much to buy foam and supplies to make a diy background and thrive took care of the elbow grease. My frogs seem to love it too.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago because it looked amazing and it would give the enclosure the aesthetic im going for. First off, it’s not measured correctly because it doesn’t fit a 40 gallon. It requires trimming which isn’t printed on the box. Secondly, Crickets are able to climb it. The top of the background doesn’t reach the top of the tank which leaves space for the crickets to climb behind it. There are also dips in the back of the background which allows ample space for crickets to gather behind it leaving your beardie hungry.

This is a beautiful addition to our beardies vivarium. Our one challenge with it is that the crickets can easily climb up and get behind it and in between the seam hiding from our beardie. Every other day or so we have remove everything from the tank and pull this out to let loose all the crickets hiding behind. Otherwise I would give it five stars.

Bought for using as a background for dart frogs. Looks nice at first glance, but the surface of the panels flaked off in large pieces on my hands as I was placing it into the terrarium. Luckily, we found the potential hazard before animals were exposed to it. Your pet may have the opportunity to ingest the material, or have it stick to their skin, if you use in their home.

I bought this for my baby leopard gecko for the background of her tank, and she got stuck behind it! It’s not tall and anyone who knows leopard geckos knows that they aren’t the best climbers. She was able to easily get up above it because the texture is styrofoam. After she climbed it she actually got stuck down in the cutouts for wires in the tank. The opening is too large for the wires so they are not secure and there is no opening at the bottom to get out. Overall, the product is cheap material and not safe especially for baby animals that like to explore!

We bought four of these a few weeks ago for our dragons and I love the aesthetic! Our smaller dragons even hang on them. We purchased two of the dessert red brown ones and two black ones!

Just wanted to drop a quick review for this one; as I couldn’t find this info in the reviews when looking to purchase for my own use.

Bought this to use in a Zoo Med terrarium, so I had to trim the width down (I realized when I purchased that this was made specifically for Thrive Terrariums as stated on the packaging). Trimming was pretty easy using a new utility knife for the first cuts, and a longer snap-blade knife to make it the rest of depth. The back sides on mine were not perfectly flat, with slight bowing probably from when the cured. I cut the included adhesive foam mounting strips in half to double them up to wedge the background in place. One thing to know is that these are painted foam so if you trim or ding them it will show the
yellow/white material beneath. I think these are expensive for what they are but easier and quicker than trying to make your own.

It’s a really nice background and the material is solid, but it didn’t fit my 40 gal front opening terrarium by zoomed. I had to cut about an inch off one of the sides with a saw. It also doesn’t cover around an inch of the top of the tank, so my snake constantly goes there in the crevice.

We bought this two weeks ago and immediately noticed a difference in the finish between the two pieces. However, we thought maybe it was meant to look different so didn’t pay much more mind. Unfortunately, it was a much larger issue as it seems one piece wasn’t coated at all, to the point that pieces chipped off, fell into our bearded dragon’s enclosure, and were immediately consumed by him. We now have him moved to a temporary enclosure as we observe to ensure his health and await a solution, because we cannot risk him eating more pieces of this. It is so sad and beyond careless that this is advertised specifically for these little guys, considering there is nothing set in place to maintain quality product entirely safe and livable for them. Photos show both the piece that appears unsealed with its chipped pieces and the other piece that goes with it sealed with no visible issues.

Pretty pricey but love it… I wish it would “stay” better however. Esthetically, 10/10

I had purchased the thrive tank a year ago and i decided to upgrade my leopard gecko decor today. Got him a few bits and goodies and this one was the gamechanger exactly what he needded he lobes hanging out on there especially with the lights on, had no issue installing i did ise two of the black holders ro righten the top sides but no need if you don’t have to its sterdy without them too, keep in mind that rhis is for Thrive Enclosures may differ on other brands.

I would love this product, hence why i bought it, however, it is too small. It says its for a 40 gallon terrarium, and its almost there, but not quite. Its not quite tall enough and also not quite wide enough. So… yea im highly disappointed in this purchase and will be returning it. It would be easy for my snake to get behind it no matter how i secure it, because it simply is not the size it needs to be. I see others having problems with the seam in the middle as well as it being too large for their 40 gallons, i would much rather have had that problem and much rather have been able to trim it to size myself, than have one that i cant use at all due to it being to small.

Like most of petsupplycanada’s Thrive brand reptile equipment, this almost works! I bought this for my leopard gecko’s 40 gallon breeder Aqueon tank. It doesn’t fit out of the box, I ended up spending my Saturday afternoon cutting about 1.5″ off with a hacksaw. Also, the provided Velcro isn’t strong enough to hold the panels up. I used aquarium adhesive to set them in place. However, it does look really nice when in place.
