this is one of the most unhealthy foods i have ever come across,and if you even think about feeding it to dwarf hammies then you didnt do good hamster research as dwarfs are VERY pdone to diabetes. swich to a healthy food even if it isnt FUN.

I’ve tried a few different brands of ham chow from cheap stuff to expensive ones. My dwarf hamsters and my Syrian hamster all love it and will only eat this one. I mean come on, it’s a treat and chow all in one! They eat it all to where whereas other brands would pick and choose what they eat from it. Only thing I noticed when they eat it is they have colored poops! Browns is always my goto for my birds as well!

My dwarf hamster Harris loves Tropical Carnival Mix. I choose this food because it has all the fruits and vegetables in the mix that Harris could ever need. I am often busy and do not have the time to chop up fresh fruits and veggies. When I opened the bag I was amazed. Not only could I identify all the dried fruits and veggies in the mix, it also smelled amazing! Harris ate it up within an hour and only stowed the seeds away instead of all of the mix like he did with his old food. There is very little corn or sunflower seeds in the mix so now I don’t have to pick them out to keep Harris from getting too chunky. I bought the 5 lb bag so I have hamster food for life. This is a great buy for the big bag and I recommend it to every hamster owner.

I bought this about a month ago and found a single weevil inside, no big deal. I killed it. Fast forward a month and I get my new terbils after my hamster passed. I opened up the food and IT WAS FILLED WITH WEEVILS! They were all over the inside, and coming out the top.

I love Tropical Carnival rodent feed! Our dwarf hamster, our two gerbils, and our three mice all love the hamster and gerbil mix. One thing I would like to point out is that this brand is high in sodium, oils and fats. DO NOT USE AS STAPLE FOOD!

This food has a whole lot of sweets and treats in it… Also foods high on sodium. If you are getting this food for your pet, I recommend you buy it in a time of your life that you are very patient, because if you want your hamster to be healthy you WILL have to pick all of that bad stuff out. I gave this three stars because it’s 2Ibs, and I’m pretty sure 1.5Ibs of it are just treats (high on sugar or sodium), so I buy this as a treat-only bag. Sometimes I give a tad bit of this mixed with high quality pellets, so they can have more variety, but it definitely isn’t my favorite brand of FOOD. Do good as treats, though :3

My hamster wasn’t really enjoying his food so I switched him to this. As soon as I put it in his cage he ran over and started to stuff his cheeks! He got really excited. He loves the variety, it even had pretzels and uncooked pasta, also dried fruit (bananas, papaya, pineapple). The food even smells good in the bag! I do mix in some Mazuri hamster blocks though.

I found out the hard way that this is not suitable for dwarf hamsters. This is more of a treat than a nutritional food. It has way too many sugary dried fruits. I only did my research after feeding 3 bags. I am taking my poor baby to the vet since she is showing all the signs of diabetes. If you have a dwarf please read ingredients and do not choose a food with fruit, sugar, or molasses.

I began to mix this food in with Kaytee Forti Diet (block food) and Hazel Hamster food. I think this is a way to provide a more complete diet for my hamster. She likes the food because it has no pellets, which she hates and she enjoys the nuts and fruits in the mix. She seems to enjoy the different options in her bowl, this makes me very happy to know she is happy. All of the foods I have mentioned are very important to a hamsters all around good health. Kaytee Forti Diet (block food) is the best for tooth health, Hazel Hamster is great because it is sugar free, Brown’s Tropical Carnival Gourmet is awesome, because it contains no pellets and not much corn and sun flower seeds, which to much is not healthy for dwarfs.

Unfortunately I bought this product before doing my research on it. I assumed that the variety meant it must be healthy, but I opened it up to find a “variety” that concerned me, so I started researching and realized I was feeding my hamster a harmful diet.
First of all, the recommended nutrition content for hamsters are:
Protein: 17-19%
Fat: 4-7%
Fiber: 6-15%
The nutrition on the bag shows the analysis:
Protein: minimum 12.5%
Fat: minimum of 7.5%
Fiber: maximum of 8.5%
This diet doesn’t guarantee enough protein, barely makes the minimum for fiber at best, and definitely gives your animal too much fat.
Even worse, this diet includes plenty of ingredients that are questionable for hamsters or gives dangerous quantities of foods. This bag includes chunks of broken pretzel and pasta! Those add absolutely nothing except for simple carbs, which is bad for a diabetic-prone animal. Way too many chunks of fruit, including giant chunks of papaya, which is dangerous to give certain species of hamster (including my own, Winter White Dwarf). Raisins, peanuts, and corn are listed in the top five rows, indicating high quantities of what should be given VERY sparingly. I will be using this as a treat bag and buy a pellet feed elsewhere now that I am better informed.

I hate to disagree with everyone but I don’t think this is a safe food for hamsters. First of all two ingredients are colour and sugar. Plus this food has dried fruit in it, something that hamsters can’t have since it will stick to their cheek pouches. I ended up picking out the dried fruit and oversized Brazil nuts that are supposed to be given as treats. Most people need to rethink about this product even though their hamster may love it you need to check the ingredients and compare it to what they would have in the wild, and I don’t believe hamsters had artificially flavoured, sugar packed, coloured food. Which is what this product has. Please be careful to choose the healthiest food, they may love it now but will regret it later.

I bought this food as a mix in for my Syrian hamster, Peace. She is super picky, and the food I got her she wasn’t eating. So I bought a bag of this (picked out the things that should be given in moderation), and mixed a little bit of it into her other deit. Now she actually eats her food without me putting salt or honey on the food (I was getting desperate).
You have to take the treats out of it, or else it’s not healthy.
Would only recommend this to a freind as a mix-in food, not a staple.

The first thing that hit me was the artificial banana smell. Then the brightly colored seeds! Why do my gerbils need neon blue and green coated seeds? Everything in here stinks like banana and has colored dust on it. I bought it online, so didn’t see the actual food in the bag. I should have read the ingredients list more thoroughly. Do yourself a favor and just pour a bag of runts candy into the bowl. It’s cheaper.
