I liked this cage and I got this at a garage sale cheep. I used this cage for my hamster Sparky and he loves it. The only complaint I could say is that the tubes are plastic and are hard to clean

I bought my son an arctic white Syrian hamster and this cage was perfect for her. For a bit. However, we are able to extend this cage and make it with multiple homes and tunnels and now she loves it. The wheel is a bit loud but I touch of baby power and that’s it! She has resorted to sleeping in the top since it got cold. We added a few toys for her such as a ladder and slide between the second floor. She has a blast with it.

This is one of my first hamster cages and I was so surprised by it!
Pros: This cage is really easy to clean. Didn’t take long to assemble. My hamster hasn’t gotten out of the cage even once! The tubes are very wide (I have a teddy bear hamster and he is huge).

Do not buy this sad cage for any animal especially hamsters. the BARE MINUMUM for a hamsters cage size is 450 square inches. altho this cage has 2 extra levles, that does no count as extra space. Hamsters in the wild run up to 7 miles in the night, they do not climb.

I got my Syrian hamster last week so I decided that this was a good cage for him… right? WRONG! In just over a week he escaped through a HUGE defect in the cage: the blue lid on the roof. By repeatedly pushing against the lid he SOMEHOW pulled it into the cage and climbed the out, and here’s the thing: IT WAS “LOCKED” THE WHOLE TIME! He got loose YESTERDAY and we spent the WHOLE DAY looking for him and we haven’t found him and I’m so sad D:

I would recommend this product for a dwarf hamster, which is what I had. It is a good idea, but could use some fixings. The latches holding the wire to the base were loose

I previously purchased this about 3 months ago and I don’t regret it! The cage is spacious and since the minimum cage requirement is rarely followed, this is one of the better of the bunch. One concern is that my dwarf hamster, Hopper, would jump from one platform onto the wheel and to the other. The problem was that the wheel would spin and he had gotten stuck between the wheel and the bars. Thankfully I was there watching him. With that being said, I simple changed the platforms up and bought some extra tubing to keep him from hurting himself! I made the top part into a little bath-room where he had his sandbath, makes for EASY cleaning because the top part comes off. Overall, if my hamster is happy, I am too! I recommend 110%!

My Syrian hamster LOVES this cage! Love the tubes!!!
The wheel is too small for Syrians though. It is very easy to put together!! And very easy to clean! My hamster loves to curl up in his petting zone. This is a great cage. I recommend it for all hamster types!!!!

Despite the critter trail reputation on their cages being of poor quality, overall, this is a good cage for smaller rodents. My Russian Winter White Dwarf Hamster, Milo, enjoys the tubes in this cage. I bought a seperate pack of “fun-nels” and extended it so that he can run through them.
This cage is not very easy to assemble and the wheel broke very easily. The directions were not very precise either (just a hint, when hooking the two halves of the cage together, there should be one bar apart between the metal latches).
I am pleased with the bar spacing for it is thin and not very bendable, unlike the crittertrail 360. The water and food bowl is wonderful though, which is nice.
Milo doesn’t really use the shelves though, he once climbed up there out of curiosity. He had difficulty at first trying to climb the steep “fun-nel” but eventually made it to the top. Instead of climbing back down, he just jumped off.
Milo does however love the top part of the cage, were it almost like a room. He spends his time climbing up there and taking some bedding into the “fun-nels” for nesting.

This was the first hamster cage that i bought for my two winter white dwarf hamsters. I then bought the special edition pink hamster cage and connected the two together. They love going thru all the tubes. I plan on to keep expanding their habitat. I really don’t think the shelves are necessary but i do still have one in there. That’s where i put their food dish. I haven’t had any problems with the water bottle leaking but it is hard to put back on to the cage. Overall great cage!

Had this cage before for my dwarf. I regret it very much now. They would chew on the bars in result of being stressed in a small environment. The cage is only around 160 sq inches when a hamster actually needs at least 450 sq inches. You could make a bin cage for way less money. Even if you connected this cage to other cages it wouldn’t be well as hamsters need unbroken floor space. A bit more research and you can find that hamsters need so much more space for their amount of energy. The wheel is also way too small especially for Syrians which can cause back problems. Don’t recommend this cage at all.

This is wayyyy below the minimum requirements for ANY hamster!! They would be absolutely miserable. You can’t fit the basic necessities for a hamster in this thing. The minimum requirements is 450 square inches of floor space!! Even then, that is too small in my opinion. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

I bought this three weeks ago for our new hamster. It’s a bit too small for her… She’s starting to bite the bars regularly. Also, the dimensions of 20″L x 11.5″W are not correct. The cage floor measures 14″ x 10″.

This is a really good cage. I have 2 winter white hamsters and they love all of the space. there is so many places for themm to go. The only things i didnt like was the hour and a half it too k me to set it up, but so worth it. 2 the 2nd levels arent sturty they wobble so thats a little scary and finally the wheel was nosy so i just used the slient spinner from my old cage. so overall i live the cage other then the 2nd levels.

Proper small pet care (verified owner)

Before you get any pet, you must do your homework. This cage is too small for all hamsters, even dwarves, gerbils, and mice, as the limit is 450 square inches of UNBROKEN floorspace, and 20 gallons for a pair of gerbils. This means levels don’t count, and even if you connected lots, your hamster will be not be happy. How would you like to live in a big house with small rooms? For a cheap, easy option, youtube bin cages. They are easy and you can design them however you want, or you could use a 40 gallon aquarium. The wheel is small and will cause your pet’s back to curve. The base is not deep enough for the required 4 inches or more of bedding. Please do not use this unless it is travel or connected to a large enough habitat. Everyone makes mistakes at first, but If you are going to use this full time when you could get a bin cage, then please do not get a small pet, as it is not fair to them. Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps.

This cage is great, after adding another robo to my pack I needed a bigger cage, and got this one. I love SuperPet and will not change cages. I connected this cage to another superpet cage I had with the supepet tubes which is great. I took out the wheel as it does squeek after a while but I simple bought the tube/wheel combo that sites outside the cage as a wheel which is much better. I always find them snuggling up in the top sleeping together. If you are looking for a large cage, for a little price, get this cage!!

This cage is cute and easy to set up. It’s nit for big full hamsters. We got a dwarf hamster and it’s perfect. The hamster seems to be happy with the amount of room. The wheel is quite and you don’t have to use both red floors.

I had my doubts about this cage because when I went in store to pick out a cage, this one was the only one without a display. I ended up buying it however because it was the biggest one they had in store, and I don’t regret it. My robo hamster loves it. He doesn’t use the shelves so I took those out, but he loves the petting area so much that he made it his sleeping area. The water bottle is okay, and the wheel is okay too, but it does make a bit of noise when my robo runs in it, but he doesn’t seem to mind. My robo also likes the tubes and seems to like climbing the tubes then sliding down them. Overall, I would recommend this cage, but only if it’s for one hamster because it is a bit small for two of them.

I love the style but it’s too small. Hamsters need at least 450 sq ft to run around plus a bigger wheel and other attachments. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend! Do better Kaytee and make these cages at least 450 sq ft and a depth of 6 inches!!! please!

While for me the cage is fine, its just hard to attach some parts and you have to have patience. The 3* has to do with the water bottle that is included.. After the death of 2 hampster I realized they were not getting water. I recommend the cage however I HIGHLY recommend getting a different water bottle than the ones included.

Willow, my Winter White Dwarf Hamster, had 3 cages total in her life, and this cage, by far, was her favorite. I could tell because whenever we downgraded her to a 1-level cage, she would give us looks that seemed to say, “Why aren’t I in my mansion?” As soon as we transferred her to this cage, it was easy to tell she was happy. Her favorite thing to do in this cage was to climb over the wheel to get from one platform to the next. She used the top of the wheel as a treadmill more than she used the wheel properly! Willow ended up spending almost a year in this cage, and she passed away in this cage as well, letting her die happy. I would totally recommend this product!

I bought a cage a few months ago and in a months time he has chewed the shelves, the tubes, the wheel, and the food bowl. I do not know why he has done this because he has plenty of two toys to chew on. I was looking for replacement shelves, tubes and everything else and I have checked 10 stores and none of them have any replacements. I have also looked on the website and they do not have any replacement parts. They need to start selling these replacement part for gerbils and hamsters and anything else that will chew on all of those cages.

I bought this over a year ago as a starter cage for my two mice, whom were brand new at the time. I got it with the intention of upgrading to a different one later, but Dini and Chica love it so much I can’t bear to change it! I’m considering buying another one, because when you have two mice cages tend to get a little worn out after a while… I only use one of the red platforms and it opens up the cage a huge amount. I’ve never had any issues with the door, the wheel, the petting area, or anything else. The only complaint I’ve ever had is where exactly the platform sits. It’s very close to the door, and Dini, much like her namesake Houdini, loves to escape. She jumps right out if it’s open too long. Of course, this is mostly my own fault. 100% recommend!

Bought this cage for our hamster, seemed good. However, it’s cheap. Clips break, plastic breaks, doesn’t fit the base properly which allows a gap for the hamster to escape. I’m done with this cage and wish I never bought it..

I’ve tried a few other cages from petsupplycanada (including the CritterTrail Dazzle, which I really didn’t like) and this is by far the best. I have a Syrian hamster who is about a year old, and he has NO problems getting around through the tubes. Now that it’s getting cold, he LOVES bringing all of his food and bedding into the compartment at the top and burrowing, especially in the morning when the sun hits that spot and warms him up c: the only problem is to make sure that the compartment stays latched shut. it’s VERY easy to push the lid up if it’s not locked.
Overall, this cage is great, and I love how customizable it is! It’s easy to rearrange things and move them around. I took out one of the shelves to give my hammie more room.

We are new to owning hamsters. We bought two teddy bear hamsters and two of these cages. We thought that would give the hamsters enough space to run around in. The wheels that come with this cage are a bit small for a teddy bear hamster. I also think that the wheels are a bit noisy. (However, not as noisy as some others we tested out while shopping for cages.) Another problem we observed was when the teddy bears ran on the wheel that came with the cage their backs touched the center point of the wheel. As a result we ended up buying replacment 6.5″ wheels that sit on a stand in the cage. (The new wheel wouldn’t mount to the inside of the cage as it caused the cage to bend too much where the wheel mounted.) We also had to remove one of the shelves in the cage to allow the replacement wheel some space on each side since the new wheel is slightly larger than the original that came with this cage. Overall, I would recommend this cage for dwarf hamsters and not teddy bear hamsters since you will need a larger wheel than what came with this one and in doing so you will have to remove one of the shelfs in the cage to fit the larger wheel. Overall, I also think this cage is too small for a teddy bear hamster.

I’ve owned a few different varieties of this cage over the years, and I must say that they have definitely improved over the years. They are sturdy, durable, easy to clean, and they last a long time. The bars are closer together than on other hamster cages so that means the smaller species can be kept in it with no problem. The shelves can be difficult to take in and out of the cage for cleaning, but the top and bottom come off easily. Overall, it is a good cage at a reasonable price. I would definitely buy another one of these!

I bought this cage to accommodate two female mice. It was a bit difficult to put together. There was lots of rearranging to get everything in a good spot. I exchanged the exercise wheels from another cage with the one that it came with because it didn’t exactly fit well. All in all I’m very satisfied with the cage and so are the mice.

I have had this cage approx. 10 days. My first experience cleaning it was disappointing. I have had
Crittertrail cages before and they are quick and easy to clean. However, this cage was not. I connected another tubing section identical to the blue one that goes to the petting area. The problem was I could not get it to slide out as easily as I expected. The result was a cracked lid despite how very careful I was at removing the tube. The crack is the entire length of the lid from the far tube connection all the way to the petting area I was very disappointed. It was so hard to get apart because the tubing wouldn’t detach without a lot of force. Neither tubing comes off easily or lines up well. I bought the tubing meant for these cages (the superpet funnels) and I have the same issue hard to fit. The petting area also has a gap on the bottom between the entrance holes that allows bedding and food to fall between the cracks and all over the surface below your cage. The water bottle I got is not as pictured it is a small square one that attaches to the side of the cage. It does not work at all. Water does not even come out of it! One of the reasons I bought this cage was so I didn’t have to buy all the separate accessories and they matched BUT the water bottle doesn’t work at all so I had to buy a different one anyways.
My baby Syrian hamster cannot use the wheel as it is too small. So I have to purchase a larger wheel that will require the removal of one of the shelves in order to make it fit. In the long run I wish I purchased a different cage. Love the levels and ability to attach more tubes and cages. My hamster loves all the levels and climbing space. I am very disappointed with how cheaply it is made especially since it was fairly expensive alone without the extra tubing I bought and water bottle and new wheel long run buy a large solid metal cage with a plastic base and buy the accessories separately.

This cage is amazing! It is the perfect size for my four mice. Trixie, Peanut, Desperaux and Theodora all love it. There are a couple things that confused me though. the assembly was sort of difficult, the directions are not very clear on how to put the cage together. The wheel is also shown in the picture as it is functional. In reality, that is a very awkward spot for the wheel, and I suggest moving it to right above the left shelf. Overall, this cage is worth the money.

I bought this a few months back when I got my kids a syrian hamster (large hamster). She somehow managed to escape this cage and was never found. I went back to petsupplycanada and bought another syrian hamster and put her in the same cage after a thorough inspection. Again, the hamster escaped! There are a few areas with slight gaps, I’m assuming to be the problem. Definitely not worth $50. Also, not worth being out more money to buy another cage to replace it.

We bought this cage in march of 2021 when we got our fancy mouse. It was horrible to put together. None of the pieces fit properly. The wire part of the cage doesn’t fit into the slots properly. 2 weeks after Medic (the mouse) being in it we took him out to clean it and seen the bottom was cracked. We were not rough with the cage at all. I’ve grown up using cages like this and have always been so gentle with them. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a small animal cage. The water bottle is too small and you cannot tell when he is out of water so we check it daily. The wheel is loud when he runs. His favorite place is at the top where you can pet them. Now I’m trying to find a good one that doesn’t seem so cheap or disfigured. Also that has a section like the pet area so he can have his comfort place still

Quality is not there on the cage. I purchased for the larger space, but extremely difficult to change as plastic pieces cracked easily, and secure hooks are difficult to close. I actually have a small cut on my forearm from plastic scrapping. In addition our little guy managed to prop open the top level and escape twice. It was secure. Would not recommend this cage. Pet smart was wonderful and let us exchange with no issues and we purchased the basic starter kit which also had a wheel and tubes. A million times easier to change and more secure.

The assembly was a bit on the challenging side, the water dispenser constantly leaks so we ended up using the one from our old cage. Overall the size seems to be decent for our Syrian Hamster, so far she seems to like it. But others have said that the tubes are too small. They are small, but so far she isn’t having any issues. However, if she gets much bigger she probably won’t fit through the tubes.

If you think this cage is ok you should not have a small pet! This is not suitable for any rodent. The dimensions of this cage: 20″L x 11.5″W x 16″H. The MINIMUM is 24 inches by 12 inches, and at least 12 inches tall. However, to keep your hamster active and happy, you need to get a bigger cage. You are much better off getting a clear $10 storage bin, your hamster would be much happier in that. The tubes in this are so small, I don’t know how any hamster could fit through them. Hamsters also don’t like going through them anyway, but in this cage they need to in order to access their food and water, which should be on the same level as them. Do your research before carelessly buying an animal. Animals are not toys. Stop treating them like one.

While for me the cage is fine, its just hard to attach some parts and you have to have patience. The 3* has to do with the water bottle that is included.. After the death of 2 hampster I realized they were not getting water. I recommend the cage however I HIGHLY recommend getting a different water bottle than the ones included.

I know a lot of people bash Kaytee products for being small but they need to keep in mind they are expandable. Having said that, it is not too bad. It is nice not having to worry about my hamster escaping and the wheel is a great size for a dwarf. I like the bowl that came with it as well. My only real complaints are that it was harder to assemble and the wheel is actually quite loud. I wish there was more floor space initially but at least they provide extensions. You can also choose to remove a tier. Happy that I found a cage with decent ventilation and reduced risk of escape.

Item is an not crowded. There was not enough space for a hide out so I had to remove one level. Also my hamster keeps taking her bedding up to the petting part of the cage then throws the bedding down the tube and it gets clogged an traps her self. Also the wheel is too small for my hamster

I got this cage for my female fancy russin dwarf hamster. I got her two days after I got the cage. She liked it, but slept all of the time in it. I hated the wheel noise, so I got a silent spinner, she loved that too! I did not like the fact that all she did was sleep in it, and I knew she was prenant from my male russian, so I attached it to a 54 gallon bin cage. She is way more active, but still likes to go back to the cage. I reccomennd this cage, but you must add on to it.

Overall the cage is good for teddy bear hamster (which I’ve had lots of experience with and recently mine has passed), but it can be frustrating to put together and take apart. My suggestion when cleaning the cage is dumping out everything into the bottom layer while keeping everything together, wayyyy more faster and easier. Then just cleansing it. It is kind of fragile so the plastic seems like it will break off when connecting the top shelves to the cage, but usually they wont snap. Good cage, but wish the shelves didn’t feel so cheap.

People may think this cage is “entertaining” for the hamster, but all it does is stress the hamster out. It only took 3 days for my hamster to get stuck in the small tubes, and a week to chew right out of the cage. There is no room for burrowing either. This should only ever be used as a travel cage.

Worried, we bought a new cage. This time it came pre-assembled which made it hassle free. However, my hamster managed to escape again. We have not found her. After doing research, she kept escaping because the size of this cage is NOT a suitable. Cages this small cause stress to hamsters. It is because of THIS CAGE that my hamster is now gone.

This is a great cage!!!! You do have to be careful as the wire is not steel strong and the cage is plastic but if you take your time, you will be fine. I have it for our new Syrian male short hair hamster and he loves it. Despite what people say, my Syrian fits fine in it but he is a small male so if you want to put a Syrian in it, get a male, they are smaller than females and will do better in the tubes (sold separately). I personally wouldn’t put any animal bigger than a hamster in it and dwarf hamsters should be fine. We also have the Crittertrail Dazzle and a glass aquarium and connected all three with the Crittertrail tubes and he has so much fun. Crittertrail gets a bad reputation that it’s not for Syrians but ours seems fine and he is 6 month’s old and still has room even if he grows a little bit more (though the store associates said that he won’t grow much bigger). Cleaning seems easy enough. We haven’t had the cage long (just a few days) but I will just take off the top and empty out the cedar from the bottom and use a spray bottle with vinegar and water and rinse with hot water and refill with fresh aspen cedar (don’t use pine for hamsters, very bad for them). I only have one hamster as Syrians like to be alone but I only put one shelf in to give him more room. I suggest getting the Crittertrail tubes and at least another Crittertrail house for extra fun for your furry friend. Have fun, take your time with the assembly and follow the directions, they are pretty easy to follow. Also, if you are nervous about your friend escaping, put tape at the top hide-out. That is the only place I could think of that an animal could escape.

Do not buy this cage for a Syrian hamster or he/she will get stuck in the tunnels. Good size for the Russian Dwarf hamster because he doesn’t grow more than 4”. We were getting a Syrian to go in the cage, but ended up with the dwarf because we followed the advice of two different pet store salespeople, and we are glad we did. Small cage for such an active wee boy, but he won’t get stuck!

These cages are the worst of the worst, they
are sold for children not pets and their focus is ‘fun looking’
and ‘brightly coloured’ not on a suitable living area. They are
the most unnatural cage you can buy for a hamster yet they
advertise themselves as the ‘most natural’ simply because
‘the system of tubes helps to mimic a hamsters natural
burrowing system’. While this is true to some extent a hamster
does not spend its entire life in its burrow. They use the burrows
for sleeping, storing food and keeping cool in the hot weather.
At dusk hamsters emurge from their burrows to forage and
explore. They will travel over 9 miles in a night through different
terrains only returning to their burrows at dawn to sleep. Not
only do modular cages prevent this natural behaviour but they
are poorly ventilated, cramped and not big enough for suitable
      sized wheels and enrichment.

It’s perfect for 1 Male or 2 Female Mice, but I wouldn’t put anything else in there due to size requirements. I like the height and everything seems sturdy and unlikely to break due to the mouse. Set up was a bit difficult due but once I failed a few times it got easier, also while my water bottle didn’t leak, it seemed to be tough for my mouse to get water, and was also super tough to get in and out of the holder provided and I ended up replacing it. When I bought this product I thought it was the best cage ever Now im having second thoughts. The water bottle is so small and with the way my hamster drinks water I need to refill it every five days. With a regular sized water bottle I would have to refill it every week or so. The wheel squeaks a lot and it rattles and very hard to clean. My hamster climbs up to the second story and knawels on the bars all day and he knows were the opening is so he chews on it hoping one day he will be able to escape. It is a pretty small space but I guess it would be fine to connect it with tubes to another critter trail cage.

Hi. My Syrian (Teddy Bear) hamster used one of these for about a year. Tubes in most types of cages aren’t safe for Syrians, but he had extreme anxiety without his tubes, so I had to get him one with them and he was able to use the ones that came with this one very easily, and he was overweight when I first got him and always sort of (without being overweight) wider than most Syrians, so this one is probably fine for most Syrians as long as they’re at the right weight and are not too much wider at a healthy weight than the average Syrian. The only two problems I had with this cage were that eventually he figured out how to open the doors and he escaped (so you will have to put on a door padlock, zip tie, or extra small bungee chord) and that he liked to burrow in the Petting Zone and once or twice, he stuffed the tube entrance to it with bedding and food so well that he couldn’t get back down and I had to push it out, so if you put one pet in the cage, you might have to do that from time to time, and if you put two pets in the cage, watch out for one trapping the other. Great cage and accessories, very durable, and easy to clean.

This cage is not suitable for any small living thing unless you have an insect. This cage is way too small for any small animal. The bare minimum for a hamster is 450 square inches. Also hamsters are supposed to have at least 6 inches of bedding to burrow in. You can’t even fit that much in there. Even though you may think it’s a awesome price you will not be giving your hamster the best environment that you could. For example bin cages are a way better choice because they number one are cheap and two provide your hamster with the suitable amount of space. Another suitable cage would be a/an aquarium that you would get in the reptile section it gives you hamster/rat/gerbil enough space to run around in and it would be able to hold more than 6inches of bedding for burrowing Most people when they gat a hamster just look at the price and say “ wow! That looks like a awesome buy,” and it is for you, but for your hamster it is way, way too small for him/her.

This is a good cage for traveling for a few days, but never ever use crittertrail cages for your permanent cage unless you have at least three cages connected.these are too small. I suggest habitrail ovo cages or ware manufacturing. These are also not escape proof even if it says so. Also don’t get huge cages because those are too big. Hamsters are afraid of large spaces. DO NOT MAKE A BIN CAGE!!!!!!!

It is pretty good the only problem I had was the exercise wheel. my hamsters hair was getting caught up in it. and when the hamster drinks water the bottle is kinda loud at night when i’m trying to go to sleep. I hot glued some of the pieces so they would not fall apart.

The assemble of the cage was a little complicated and sometimes falls out of place when cleaning the cage so I have to put it back together. It is very easy to clean the parts and everything stays in tact well. Always make sure parts are in correct places so hamster doesn’t escape. Deffinately a good buy though.

Item is an not crowded. There was not enough space for a hide out so I had to remove one level. Also my hamster keeps taking her bedding up to the petting part of the cage then throws the bedding down the tube and it gets clogged an traps her self. Also the wheel is too small for my hamster

This is way too small for an animal and could stress them out. Hamsters, Bunnies, and other pets need more space. In substitute for this you could buy a bin for a hamster, and for a bunny buy a dog pen. Water bottles aren’t good for bunnies either.

Bought this cage when I bought my new baby Syrian hamster. This cage is so small! Completely unsuitable, and dangerous, for a hamster. She got stuck in one of the tubes, luckily I noticed her right away and was able to free her after 15 minutes of carefully pushing/pulling her out. I am now on the hunt for a larger, more comfortable cage for her. This cage should only be sold for keeping pet mice, as I can see this being perfect for them. Certainly is not meant for hamsters though.

I love this cage for dwarves. Much too small for syrians but ive had winter whites, chinese (NOT A DWARF) , and robo dwarves in this cage. Ive had no problems except i dont use the 2 extra layers because they take up too much space. Very easy to clean and put back toghether. My robo loves the top box. while awake, he spends most of his time up there. The wheel however, is very noisy. No big problems overrall.

Firstly, I have to mention that I a really big on space. It’s very important to me that all my critters have ample space to grow, play, and be happy. I have three gerbils which I house in a 40 gallon tank and a guinea pig which I house in a very large, renovated dog crate. So when it came time to find the perfect cage for my hamster, I was mostly focused on space. I have a winter white hamster and this is more than enough space for her. She’s always running in a different part and she’s really just over the moon with this cage. The other thing I adore about this cage is you can get to your furry friend whenever you please. Cages with a lot of spots that are hard for us humans to reach result in a much less social animal, as they can easily hide from our grasp. Now that she is in a much more spacious, accessible cage she is more friendly, social, and happy. Depending on the breed of hamster you might be able to house two, but it would be a little crammed. I personally recommend no more than one gerbil in here. It’s sturdy, cute, and surprisingly easy to clean. Overall, a very great cage. Well worth the price.

This cage is amazing, I don’t know where to start. It is very spacious so there is room for a hideout and anything else needed. The base is tall about 3 in chiefs so bedding won’t come out. The wheel is silent and large. The platforms offer even more space. The water bottle that comes with it is a little small but it’s still fine. There is absolutely NO WAY TO ESCAPE which is great for anyone who has an escape artist. The food bowl is a terrific size. The tubes add extra fun to this habitat. I absolutely love the “Petting Zone”. The clips lock it tight so the small animal can escape. I like that it is removable too. The petting zone is a great place for the small pet to sleep. This cage is perfect for my gerbil. The assembly take about 45 MINUTES because you have to hook the two sides together which took about 20 minutes. The doors are easy for me to open but NOT my gerbil.

All of these things are too small for just about any rodent. Not only that, it’s about double (if not triple) the price it should be. Many pieces don’t fit together, or are warped. The detachable parts don’t detach. You really have to buy multiple habitats to make suitable room for any rodent, including the numerous tube pieces, which themselves are ridiculously overpriced. Bottom line, you’d be better off building your own habitat and using your kids to help you do it. A great way to learn, and it’ll be to your own standards. Win/Win

I have a month old Syrian Teddy Bear and she’s too large for the tubes. She’d get stuck so it really limits the second level option for her. I feel like despite a nice wheel, chew sticks, and toys she gets bored. The wheel it came with is nice but it attaches to the cage which rattles the entire cage when she’s running keeping my son and everyone else up at night. I replaced with the silent spinner but with that, the food dish it came with, and the mini hut there’s just not much room for anything else. She can climb the walls pretty easy so I may add the second level and rig up some kind of ramp but get nervous she’ll get hurt climbing or couldn’t get down. I love the doors on it. That has been the only thing keeping me from just going the aquarium cage route. It has two access doors one low and one high just above it that are spring closable so they are secure. It also has a drop in mini cage which closes off the large top accessible opening when it’s in place. My hammy is too large for that neat little back up cage but it’s a nice idea for those with smaller ones to use for cage cleaning. The water bottle it comes with leaked all over so I replaced it with a nice one. However there’s only one small rectangular slot where you can attach the water bottle to come through the bars and it’s on the back of the cage so it can’t be flush with the wall but at least that doesn’t mean taking up more inside of the cage space. Overall this is a very nice cage and for the price you really can’t beat it but I’d use this for a smaller hammy so that you can really utilize all its nice features. If you don’t use the tubes you’ll need to buy and extra set of caps to close off the tube openings or your lil fuzz will escape. I had no idea they can scale walls better than Spider-Man (I had the aquarium cages growing up). Happy with my purchase and hope our lil Zoomer is happy too.

I hate this cage with a passion! It is so bad!! It is way too small (the minimum for hamsters is 450 inches of unbroken floorspace) this is bad because they can bar bite, which is really bad for they’re teeth I wouldn’t even use this as a travel cage! Hamsters need 6 inches of bedding, atleast 2 hides,
      And a sandbath,
And a 10 inch wheel! No matter what kind of hamster you get they all need the same amount of space! They all run 5 miles a night (or supposed to) and this limits it by a lot! Please
Don’t ever get this cage! For the sake of your hamster, also you can make a bin cage for 1/2 of this cage! Please don’t waste your money on such a small and bad
      Cage!

I bought this cage for my daughter’s Syrian hamster. Initially I had no issues with the cage. Recently my teen daughter went away for a week and I was caring for her but never took her out the cage, from 1 day to the next she stopped walking. The vet confirmed her back leg was broken and she probably caught it in her cage. Upon further examination I believe this occurred on the door because it’s poorly made and not aligned. I’ve spent lots of money on vet bills and the leg needed amputation because the break was so bad. I 100% regret not getting a tank for her. Please I’m encouraging not to purchase this cage, it should be taken off the market.

First off a red piece that clips in for the outside tunnels is broke. We just got the habitat a Thursday. It was broken when we took it out of the box. The cage was all bent out of shape and the bottom doesn’t fit right and the top doesn’t fit on well. The side clamps only half the clamp is clamped on the wire. My sons one mouse has escaped twice now because the cage is bent. This cage has around 150sq inches of floor space and most of that is covered and any hamster needs a minimum of 450sq inches of uncovered floor space and getting a few of them and attaching them is not the same just because they are small animals doesn’t mean the don’t need space in the wild hamsters have been known to run 5.5 miles per night and running on a wheel while it is good for them is just not the Same and if you are wondering how to see your cages floor area you take the width and length of your cage floor and multiply the two and the number you get is the area of the floor but you need to measure the width and length in inches but like I said this cage is 1/3 the minimum size floor area

I bought this cage for my female fancy hamster and, at first, it was great! A perfect size and plenty of things to play on (wheel, tubes, shelves, ect.) but after a week or so of owning it, my hamster escaped for the first time. She had chewed on the tube so much that it cracked and she climbed out and behind the dresser. Another few weeks later, she had chewed on one of red shelves so much that it caved in. This was a potentially dangerous situation for my hamster as if it would’ve hit her she could have gotten hurt. We continued using the cage with only one shelf as it didn’t seem to be a problem for her. Just this morning, I woke to another great hamster escape. This time, she had climbed up the walls of her cage and chewed on one of the blue pieces on top of the cage, used to connect more tubes. After chewing a small peice, she was able to just push the blue attacher up and climb out. Now, if your hamster is more calm, and doesn’t escape, this cage could be great. But, if they chew on anything at all, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. This cage has posed many scares and potential dangers.

I would definitely buy another one of these!

overall, this is one of the best cages that you can get. I spent a good two months of research on the internet, friends that have hamsters, and at the local small and exotics vet, learning how to take care of a healthy and happy hamster. with all hamsters, the bigger the cage the better, no matter what the size of the hamster. this cage has the most surface area by far out of all of the possible hamster cages that are for sale that don’t have bar spacing so far apart that the hamster can escape.
this cage is still a little too small, so that is why I am getting the supper critter trail one to attach with tubes, for additional space. the assembly took about 30 min to 1 hour, because i washed everything before I put it together, just to make sure that the factory hadn’t left any harmful residue on it. a few parts like the shelf and tubes were a little hard to get in, but took no more then one or two min each. the cleaning is extremely easy, because the bars unhook from the bottom plastic with ease, the platforms are pretty easy to take off of the wire sidings, and the petting zoo lifts out with ease. the weekly cleaning is easy, but every month when the entire cage, (wheel, tubes, etc.) need to be cleaned, it is a little hard to take apart (witch means that your hami will find it harder to escape) and put back together, witch is why it is only 4 out of 5. I found that once everything was placed inside of the cage, there was hardly any room for my hami to move around, so I simply took out one of the platforms and are using one instead of two.the reason that I didn’t put price as a con is because I think that this cage is actually worth around 60-80 dollars.
I have been using this cage since the day i got my first hamster, Jasmine (I put the cage together before I bought her!), for about a month and the only thing I would do to change it is too add on another cage with a connector tube!

I loved the cage and it was super easy to put together. Although it was NOT what the picture shows. The hamster ball in the middle was green and it was a WHEEL not a BALL. Then the picture shows a very good quality water bottle that is clear. The water bottle was super small and the color blue so you can’t see the water level. It leaks like crazy so it needs to be refilled ALOT. I would still highly recommend this cage, but buy a better quality bottle and hamster ball before buying. This cage is really only for dwarfs because the tunnels are small too. Overall great cage!

I am actually surprised on how much I love this cage. Its not very big, which can be a good thing if you are worried about having too little amounts of space in whatever room the cage is going to be in, although I prefer adding onto my cage. The price may seem much, but its not. It comes with a dish, the water bottle, the wheel, the tubes, the petting zone (which almost all critter trails have), and most importantly THE CAGE. Miranda (my chinese dwarf hamster) loves the multi level although I take down one of the levels so there is more space in this unit.

I bought this thinking it would be a nice experience for my 3-month-old grey dwarf hamster, but when it came, everything was horrible. The water bottle would always be leaking, He would climb up the cage finding small crammys to slip through and escape, and I couldn’t fit any of his old toys from his old big cage. This cage was also too small, I expected much better for that price! This product is unsafe, and I will be purchasing a different one.

I bought this for my winter white dwarf hamster and he didnt know how to drink out of the water bottle it came with, it was hard for him to get the water out. If you buy this cage makes sure your hamster is able to drink out of the water bottle. My hamster ended up dying of dehydration because he couldn’t get enough water.

I bought this for my little dwarf hamster, Kairi.
Kairi seems happy inside the habitat and loves going up the tunnel to the other levels. The water thingy is a little noisy though, when Kairi is drinking water the thing starts making a little noise that is kind of annoying. So far I’m happy with my purchase.

I got this cage for my 2 gerbils when they were babies. It is UNSAFE and DANGEROUS. Some add on’s to the cage will fall off, or not connect properly. The metal and plastic will ‘Most likely’ get chewed on by your pet and that is VERY dangerous for your pet. The cage (if you could even call it that) is WAY too small, as well as UNSTABLE. Do NOT get this item in store or online. The internal tubes can be unsafe depending on what kind of pet you are planning on putting in the cage. ALSO if the pet that you want to put in this cage burrows- find a different cage. This is because bedding will slip through the flimsy wiring on the outer rims and onto were ever you place this cage. It is NOT practical.

Bought this cage for our DJ hamster. He loves climbing the tubes and he even sleeps in them sometimes. We’ve already added additional tubes to the original set-up. The hamster is fun to watch, as he makes his rounds through the tunnels. My only real complaint is the water bottle that comes with the cage. Both the original and the 2nd one that was sent to me don’t work properly. Water does not come out. And the set-up makes it difficult to use a different bottle.

This cage is much too small, we had a female Russian hamster in her but she HATED it. She climbed the wires and wheeked to leave. Also the water bottle is too small and the food dish is plastic and easy to chew and tip over. So, went bought the poor thing a 20 gallon aquarium and she loves it. Please use these only as add one and not as permanent homes.

Kaytee you should definitely make a big cage that has a lot of floor space for hamsters. The cages that are in petsupplycanada are way to small for any hamster. I would love to see you guys come out with a cage that’s affordable and that has a lot of floor space for the hamster.

Bought this cage for my rescue Syrian, Gabriel. The cage itself is nice to look at and includes some great features but isn’t the easiest to handle. The assembly which I thought would take a few minutes probably took close to a half hour. The pieces don’t fit in easily and takes a lot of muscle to force them in place. Hamsters are escape artists by nature so this is not the safest cage to purchase. If you do make sure you have clips on hand to prevent their escape. My hamster really seemed to enjoy traveling all around the supplied tube system and has made the petting area a bedroom loft. He seemed to like it I’m a little more reserved about it. Attractive but the ease of cleaning and assembly are poor.

This is a great cage, it is a good size and I wouldn’t recommend something much smaller. I have a winter white hammie and he seems to love this cage. I like to rearrange things in his cage every few weeks for some new things to explore and this cage gives me a lot of ways to do that. The one problem is that when I was cleaning the cage the petting zone got cracked when I dropped it 3 ft and then part of the hinge fell off, it still works though.

Certainly is not meant for hamsters though.

overall, this is one of the best cages that you can get.

Win/Win

I beg anyone who reads this review to think about your pet and all their needs before you get it and make sure you research! If I could I would give this zero stars but this is the minimum.

When I heard crying, I rushed upstairs to see what the problem was. My daughter’s hamster had died, curled up right underneath the water bottle. We noticed that (1) the water bottle was full, although it had last been filled a few days earlier, and (2) when pressing and tapping on the water spout, our fingers stayed 100% dry. The hamster had died of dehydration. The water bottle had not done its job. After opening the bottle and inspecting for blockage (there was none), the spout started working again – perhaps a vacuum had been broken – but, obviously, it was too late.

I really like the colors of the cage, and it’s easy to deconstruct for cleaning. If you have a hamster that likes to climb, they can climb along the sides of the cage, but the cage isn’t so tall that they hurt themselves if they fall. The tray level is adjustable, and it’s easy to add more tunnels to it.

I used this cage for a winter white hamster and it worked great. You have to oil the hamster wheel frequently so it doesn’t make noise. Also I recommend putting some tube structures on this cage because hamsters love to climb and walk around and run. This cage is great for climbing hamsters.

We have had for one week and house new hamster has escaped three times and chewed through the carpet into the wall. We have had to cut into the drywall to save. The front door latch some how is not strong enough and it is opening while they climb the sides. very unhappy. No i need to replace drywall along with carpet and a new cage.

We bought this for our Hamster, the only bad things were, we did not get the water bottle shown here or the camouflage inserts mentioned. The two second shelves mentioned are not sturdy and my hamster chewed the heck out of them both. The wheel was very noisy and had to be replaced by another wheel as did the water bottle.

I was a bit disappointed with this product when I first bought it. The wheel is way too small, even for a dwarf, and my Syrian couldn’t use it at all. The water bottle leaked as well. I had to buy a bigger free-standing wheel and a washer for the water bottle so it wouldn’t leak anymore. And, the tray at the bottom is too shallow for a good amount of bedding. After the first few weeks of having my hamster, I started to feel bad because he didn’t have enough space. So I bought another cage (single level with an opening on the roof) from this brand and attached them together with a tube.
Overall, it’s not a great product, but I made do after I bought it. Honestly, I’d recommend investing in a large tank rather than this.

Got this on a whim to somewhat upgrade one of my Male Mice from 10 gallon. I don’t regret it. He’s a lot more active and really enjoys the cage. The wheel is also a lot nicer then expected.

Unfortunately, this cage is too small. The BARE minimum in the US is 450 sq inches, and this cage doesn’t make the cut. There are many better options, including the cheapest, bin cages, where you can buy a plastic storage bin and use hardware mesh for the top. Aquariums are also a great option, 40 gallons or over. Not to mention, the wheel is too small for almost any small animals. Dwarf hamsters should have ideally 8+ inches wheels, and Syrians should have AT LEAST 9+ inches, and even that is way too small for many of them. Many the smallest of mice (of which I have two) could use the wheel, but most couldn’t, and gerbils couldn’t either. Plus most Syrian hamsters can’t fit comfortably through the tubes. And the pan of the cage isn’t deep enough to allow the small animal enough bedding to burrow. Most animals should have around 6 inches to make a proper burrow, gerbils needing a bit more and mice being able to do with a bit less. Everything in and about this cage is unfortunately too small. If you’re considering this cage, I think it would be in your pets best interest to research other options. If you like wire cages best, there are options for that too, like the Prevue 528 and the Super Crittertrail. Overall, this is just not a good cage.

This cage is much too small for a hamster. Hamsters need 450 square inches of floorspace MINIMUM. Adding another level in the cage does not count as more floorspace. Also, hamsters can’t see color very well anyway, so the “brightly colored habitat” is just to attract kids. By the way, HAMSTERS ARE NOT TOYS! They are living, breathing creatures and to put them in a small, plastic cage is very sad. Hamsters also need 6 inches of bedding so that they can burrow, something hamsters need to do for enrichment. Clearly, petsupplycanada cares more about your money than the pets.

Win/Win

Plenty of room for his igloo, food dish, toys and chews. The water bottle is a great size and height for him. The wheel hasn’t made any noise yet so no complaints there. The tunnels are easy for him to get up and down and he loves the little top part.

I got a new hamster (both dwarf) who bites the tube and always showing signs of stress and boredom. I don’t have that much space to put enough toys or hideouts because this cage is TOO SMALL. This cage is approximately 440 square inches which is below the minimum and getting the minimum is also not good so you should get a cage that is around 600 square inches. My only complaint is that the little red panels are hard to get the bedding off without spilling it off everywhere. Otherwise a nice big hamster cage. Just don’t use it with the bigger hamsters… they get stuck in the tubes.

I read the mixed reviews and purchased the product since it looked like it may work for my mouse. It was a tad hard to put together, but, after figuring it out, it works really well! My baby mouse loves it and enjoys all the tubes and climbing areas. I really like it and am happy I made the purchase.

I’m afraid that this cage is far too small for a hamster of any type. The cage does not allow room for enrichment. The wheels sold with these cages are far too small for even a dwarf hamster. Syrian hamsters should have AT LEAST 8 1/2 inch wheel and dwarfs should have AT LEAST a 6 1/2 inch wheel. the minimum amount of floorspace a hamster should be given is 450sq inches while thee cages are barely half of that. even then, 450sq inches is very small. Hamsters should have much more space as they explore up to 9km of land in the wild. while you can argue that they can run on their wheel, in the wild they aren’t only running, they are also foraging and hunting for insects and plants, as well as burrowing (which this cage does not allow any room for). While you can put multiple cages together, its like having a huge house but constantly having to go through doors. hamsters are more intelligent than you think, and they spend most of their time climbing or chewing at these cages because they’re stressed out. Hamsters should also have multiple different types of substrates and bedding (not including pine or cedar or cotton because those are dangerous) like sand (which they dig and clean themselves in), paper bedding (great for nesting), aspen bedding (more natural but not suitable for nesting as it is rough), coco fiber (optional but a good choice), and hay which double as structure for burrows and a chew toy. Hamsters should have multiple toys and hideouts and different things to do like foraging and even solving little puzzles to keep them busy. after all, they spend most of their lives in a cage doing the same things which I imagine would get a little bit boring. This cage is especially not suitable for multiple hamsters. Please do not ever keep multiple Syrian or Chinese hamsters together as they will probably fight till death. Syrians require to be separated at a very young age. Russian Campbell’s dwarf hamsters and Winter White dwarf hamsters, as well as hybrid hamsters and Roberovski hamsters may be kept together under the right conditions which certainly aren’t this cage. even then, I have tried to house two Russian Campbell’s dwarfs together in my 4 foot x 2 foot enclosure with multiples of everything to keep them from fighting, yet they still fought. I find these cages sort of overpriced considering you can buy a large cage online or make a cage for significantly less. I paid $100 to make my cage which is equivalent to 8 critter trails. If I were to buy 8 critter trails it would cost around $400. A bin cage is an amazing alternative as they cost around $20 and only require a few adjustments for ventilation purposes. I am concerned that companies do not care about the health and well being of the animals they sell and only want to make a profit. This cage looks more like a children’s toy than an animal habitat. Animals aren’t toys and deserve to be treated like the innocent creatures that they are. If you read this I hope that I helped you learn about hamsters some more!

While for me the cage is fine, its just hard to attach some parts and you have to have patience. The 3* has to do with the water bottle that is included.. After the death of 2 hampster I realized they were not getting water. I recommend the cage however I HIGHLY recommend getting a different water bottle than the ones included.

People may think this cage is “entertaining” for the hamster, but all it does is stress the hamster out. It only took 3 days for my hamster to get stuck in the small tubes, and a week to chew right out of the cage. There is no room for burrowing either. This should only ever be used as a travel cage.

I recently bought a Russian dwarf hamster for this cage. My hamster loves exploring every compartment. One thing I worry about and my hamster has actually done several times is to try to crawl on top of the wheel to get to the other shelf. The wheel spins and my hamster gets stuck between the the wheel and the other shelf. My hamster also at first would jump off the ledge because was not sure of the tubes but has gotten over that because she is now aware of how to go down the tubes. I really like the petting zone. Although, it sometimes can be a pain to close. The wheel is a bit loud but I plan to order a silent spinner and remove a shelf so the spinner can go in a corner. Overall I really like the design and functions of the cage. My hamster loves it and so will yours!

This is way too small for an animal and could stress them out. Hamsters, Bunnies, and other pets need more space. In substitute for this you could buy a bin for a hamster, and for a bunny buy a dog pen. Water bottles aren’t good for bunnies either.

The second is that bedding and poop keep falling out. He likes to hang out in the petting area at the top but his bedding and poop keep falling out where the tube connects to the petting area. I’ve found it on the table and the floor. This just won’t work with a two-year-old in the house.

This product is amazing if you want to KILL YOUR HAMSTER. Look up how many hamsters have died in these tubes. It doesn’t matter that you can connect this cage to others because hamsters need AT LEAST 450 sq inches of UNBROKEN floor space. Please look at bin cages or aquariums as alternatives. This cage is way too expensive and way too risky. This wheel is also completely inadequate for a Syrian hamster (which is pictured in the photo). Please look up proper hamster care. Hamsters deserve better- they have to live their lives in here. And in a cage like this, it won’t be very long.

There is enough room for three of him in the cage and I love all of the attachable places to give him more room to play, plus the wheel is very quiet as well and he can’t seem to get enough of it! The bar spacing is also perfect, it gives him no room to escape like the last one did, and the doors are great as well because the springs reinforce the inability for him to escape. this cage was horrible. It all started when we opened the cage. We noticed that the pegs were bent out of shape. We also noticed that the cage itself was not level. As the weeks went on we had encountered more problems. A week into getting the cage the wire bent leaving it lopsided so my mice could get out. After the third week the wire cage door snapped and left us only to get another cage. we never want to buy crittertrail again even if our life depends on it. Im warning you crittertrail is a horrible cage.

And in a cage like this, it won’t be very long.

imagine living in a room the size of a bathroom for your entire life. it doesn’t take more than 10 minutes of research to see that this cage is cruel to keep a hamster in. they need plenty of space- this cage is WAY TOO SMALL. They need open space to run and exercise. the wheel is way too small for anything but a dwarf hamster. DO NOT BUY TINY TALES OR CRITTER TRAIL CAGES. you are better off buying an aquarium or storage bin and everything else separately.

I have had this cage for along time and every hamster I put in it never escaped. The cage is to small for a rat or a large mouse. This cage is just for hamsters and small mice. I suggest getting another cage to add on to this one. Once your done putting the bedding in and everything else there isn’t much room left. Having tubes is fun but it is a lot of cleaning to do if you have a lot of them. Not saying you shouldn’t have them just not to many.

This is definitely worth the money! Although it is too small for anything but a dwarf hamster it is made from good, sturdy plastic, not the cheap kind used in many other cages. Another thing is that the wheel does not fit properly so I didn’t bother putting it in. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is as I said, it is only good for dwarf hamsters, the wheel is no good, and it took awhile to assemble.

I was apprehensive to get this cage because of the reviews, but decided to try anyways. my mice were previously in a 29 gal aquarium set up, and even though it was a very generous size, seemed bored. I got this cage and was worried about the size at first, but it is perfect for two small mice. they have so much fun and so much to do! it has enough room to put some hides in the bottom and chew toys. my only complaint is the wheel, which they absolutely love, is pretty noisy. I just put the cage in another room at night so they can have as much fun as they want while i sleep. i’m excited to get more cages and add expansions for them! i think that this cage is great for two mice, but would not recommend for any larger rodent. a dwarf hamster maybe, but it is too small for normal hamsters.

i have bought my husband a winter white hammy and bought this cage for her and it fits her perfectly! enough space for her to roam around and the fun-nels are a perfect size for her lil roley poley body. breathable cage for sure, the landings are nice and high up and the upper gate is easy access. the wheel is pretty quiet (not bad for a plastic wheel that is attached to the cage) and the refill bedding trays fit perfectly also for easy clean up (worth the money) the petting pod is a perfect size she can move freely and its removable. the cage is easy to clean with wipes. cage is fun to expand to another cage. i have learned to clean the fun-nel tubes easily with a baby bottle brush (hint hint..) cage is worth it for just 1 winter or siberian hammyor multiple robo’s.

I had a hamster who died before 2 years and didn’t have any diseases or problems and it might have been because of his cage. I’m probably going to get a new cage to connect to this one.

I was doing some research on cages and decided on this one for my white dwarf hamster and boy was it a good decision. It took only a short 30 minutes about to assemble and my hamster LOVES IT! My winter white dwarf Hamster (Daisy Bell) likes to climb through the tubes, sleep in her Critter Habitat on top, eat and sit in her food bowl, and especially run on her wheel. Daisy Bell is active mostly at night and the silent wheel is not very loud so unless you are a light sleeper you should be fine with it it not interrupting your sleep. I would however not recommend this for a large hamster because the cage only fits items especially made for dwarfs. Larger Hamsters also might get stuck in the tubes because the are very small.

I bought this cage for my daughter’s dwarf hamster and he seems happy in it but it has a couple significant issues. The first is that the wheel is too noisy. The second is that bedding and poop keep falling out. He likes to hang out in the petting area at the top but his bedding and poop keep falling out where the tube connects to the petting area. I’ve found it on the table and the floor. This just won’t work with a two-year-old in the house.

This was terrible to put together and took way too long, it looks like it was used returned and then sold again because out of the box some of the wire was bent. When putting together the clips broke of just trying to put the wire together. Overall it was stressful to put together and it is a lot smaller then it looked in the box.

We originally bought this for a teddy bear hamster but it was just too small for him. It works great for our pet mouse however!
Plenty of room for his igloo, food dish, toys and chews. The water bottle is a great size and height for him. The wheel hasn’t made any noise yet so no complaints there. The tunnels are easy for him to get up and down and he loves the little top part.
Everything is more than sturdy enough for him and fits together tight enough that he can’t get out.

I just bought this cage and my little guy loves it! It was a bit tough to assemble, but from there on out, it was easy peasy! 10/10 would recommend!

I beg anyone who reads this review to think about your pet and all their needs before you get it and make sure you research! If I could I would give this zero stars but this is the minimum.

Got this on a whim to somewhat upgrade one of my Male Mice from 10 gallon. I don’t regret it. He’s a lot more active and really enjoys the cage. The wheel is also a lot nicer then expected.

I bought the cage about a month ago, and it was great for my hamsters. they seemed to love it. But, I ended up returning it for the extreme challenge cage because for one, the running wheel the cage comes with was very loud and annoying when I’m trying to sleep and they’re awake since they’re nocturnal lol. Andbthebother reason I returned it is because I connected the tube To the petting zone so they could sleep up top, but they kept shoving their bedding down the tube and getting stuck up top. I like my new cage much better.

I am very disappointed with how cheaply it is made especially since it was fairly expensive alone without the extra tubing I bought and water bottle and new wheel long run buy a large solid metal cage with a plastic base and buy the accessories separately.

i have bought my husband a winter white hammy and bought this cage for her and it fits her perfectly! enough space for her to roam around and the fun-nels are a perfect size for her lil roley poley body. breathable cage for sure, the landings are nice and high up and the upper gate is easy access. the wheel is pretty quiet (not bad for a plastic wheel that is attached to the cage) and the refill bedding trays fit perfectly also for easy clean up (worth the money) the petting pod is a perfect size she can move freely and its removable. the cage is easy to clean with wipes. cage is fun to expand to another cage. i have learned to clean the fun-nel tubes easily with a baby bottle brush (hint hint..) cage is worth it for just 1 winter or siberian hammyor multiple robo’s.

I recently got my first hamster, a winter white dwarf named pickles, and thought this cage might be fun for her. The assembly was 20 minutes, and the long tube to the Petting Zoo area has trouble locking in once in a while. That aside, once it’s assembled Pickles loves it. She is constantly on the wheel which is much quieter than I had expected, and when she isn’t, she goes up both tubes to her platforms where her chew sticks/toys are at, and she constantly visits the petting zoo up the long tube all the time. She uses every square inch of this cage to play and run so every feature (both shelves w/tubes, wheel, petting zoo w/long tube) get plenty of use. There is room for a hide house on the bottom with food dish near the bottle or on a shelf either way. I was initially concerned the bottom might not have enough room, but after watching her a few days, it’s clear she loves to climb through the multiple stories/tubes of this cage. After initial assembly, its easy to snap loose the cage from the bottom tray to refresh bedding and do some cleaning. It’s easy for me, and Pickles seems to love it, so I’m on board too.

I used this cage for a winter white hamster and it worked great. You have to oil the hamster wheel frequently so it doesn’t make noise. Also I recommend putting some tube structures on this cage because hamsters love to climb and walk around and run. This cage is great for climbing hamsters.

I had a hamster who died before 2 years and didn’t have any diseases or problems and it might have been because of his cage. I’m probably going to get a new cage to connect to this one.

The top on both (I bought 2) didn’t fit correctly on one of them. (I will be returning that one) The other one I will be saving for ity bity babies and mom.

This is definitely worth the money! Although it is too small for anything but a dwarf hamster it is made from good, sturdy plastic, not the cheap kind used in many other cages. Another thing is that the wheel does not fit properly so I didn’t bother putting it in. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is as I said, it is only good for dwarf hamsters, the wheel is no good, and it took awhile to assemble.

first of all petsupplycanada cages are way to small! For example this so called “big cage” is only around 100 square inches all hamsters know matter what hamster need a cage AT LEAST 360 square inches!
Second you are just wasting or money! you can buy a 30 gallon tank (which would be the perfect sized cage for any hamster) for only around 30 dollars! which is of course much cheaper or you can make DIY bin cages for mabye only around $20!

Let me start out by saying a hamsters cage must be at LEAST 360sq inches no smaller this is because they need many toys a proper sized wheel and many hideaways. hamsters also burrow and need allot of room for that. It’s a good cage for my young mice so far. I keep 2 girls in here and it’s worked well. My only gripe is that it wobbles. I don’t know specifically why but I believe the base is warped. When my mice walk through the front right the whole cage rocks. I can usually stick a piece of bedding underneath that corner to hold it up for a while and it doesn’t bother me, but I still wish it didn’t do that.

It is pretty good the only problem I had was the exercise wheel. my hamsters hair was getting caught up in it. and when the hamster drinks water the bottle is kinda loud at night when i’m trying to go to sleep. I hot glued some of the pieces so they would not fall apart.

If you read this I hope that I helped you learn about hamsters some more!

overall, this is one of the best cages that you can get.
