I bought this fence to be used to keep my dogs on one side of the house. Its great because they cannot climb it, and I have yet to see anyone jump over it. My frustration is more with the latches to open it. Personally, I have just been stepping over it. The latches are not easy, seem kind of rickity, and I dont understand why it would be built in this way. For the price- this puppy should open easily and smoothly.

Bought this for my puppy for a crate alternative – play pen is very heavy duty. Cocker is now 5 mos old. He doesn’t mess in it – cannot move it nor jump out of it. I was hesitant because it was expensive – but worth every penny.

My new puppy is still at the breeders but I’m setting up the puppy’s home base and this pen is the foundation. I’m using a square formation of the pen and put down some floor panels under the pen to serve as the base for the pen panels. It looks great! I’ll be adding a crate, toy!s, some washable urinary pads and feeding dishes. I’m excited and think my puppy will love it.

My bull terrier has occasional IVDD flare ups which require him to be on rest/recovery for two weeks. I decided to buy this pen to give him more space to relax in than just his crate. I’m really impressed by the quality and sturdiness of the product, especially for the price. I’d buy it again! (Haven’t used it as a gate, so I can’t comment on that.)

At first we were worried he would for between the slats, but they are spaced well to where there is no way. Super easy to put together and you can configure it several ways. We bought this to use for the pen part, and have not used it as a gate. Our 25lb puppy easily knocks the doors to the pen open, even when latched as securely as the product allows. The overly wide opening causes the gates to pull away from each other just due to their own weight. The latch barely crosses onto the other side and is relatively feeble. Nowhere near worth the cost, and I will be returning it. Maybe the gate funtion is better, when it can be more precisely adjusted, but as a pen it is useless.

I’m just writing to help others in our situation. Our dog chewed through the round plastic parts that screw into the top so the bars stay secure. Top Paw (petsupplycanada) did not have replacement parts. So I found that Carlson has a similar 2-in-1 gate/fence. Carlson was able to ship me those parts and all is good now. Perfect fit. Good luck!

My favorite part is the size flexibility of this pen, I’ve taken out 2 panels to keep the space smaller but once she’s further along in her recovery I’ll be able to add them back giving her more freedom.

My dog is not crate trained and has been on crate rest for weeks… so instead we bought a pen to limit movement. It is so sturdy… a little annoying to set up but once you get the hang of it, it’s quite easy to fold up and has A lot of diversity. Can be gate, pen, larger, smaller. And it’s truly sturdy. My larger vizsla can’t even phase it and he’s an absolute lunatic. It’s expensive but we’ll worth it – I have 2 of them!!! After my dogs surgery, it’s the perfect amount of space.

I bought this in preparation for our new berger blanc suisse puppy. As a full grown dog, they can reach up to 88lb. Dog isn’t here yet but I’m pretty sure this will be stable enough. After assembling it, I decided to climb out of it without using the door when I really should have. I tripped onto the floor and the pen didn’t tip over or anything. I’m 5’1″ and 125lb. Should be fine with a puppy.

The steel portions of the product proved to be quite durable, even for a quickly-growing Golden Retriever pup. However, after having the product for just past the warranty period, one of the plastic connectors broke. Our pup was probably about 5-6 months old at the time, still in a very destructive phase, so we were still penning her when we needed some downtime. I think it was a poor choice to use inexpensive plastic for those connectors. The photo shows the broken connector as well as our pup, now about 11 months old.

Bought this for my dog to keep her contained after she had surgery. I used it as a pen as opposed to a gate. It has two doors that open and lock securely. Very easy assembly. It comes together, all you have to do is add the pins at the place where you want to turn the gate into a pen. Well built and secure. I recommend this gate/pen

I think eventually she will be able to jump over it, but hopefully I won’t need it then. Very sturdy. Looks into shape for more structural support. Comes with brackets to secure to walls if needed. I have it zip tied to the side opening of my wire crate.
