Directions:
Scrub away solid debris throughout the terrarium. Once complete, securely attach the hose to the edge of the terrarium, leaving the lower half of the brush submerged in the water. Arrange the hose to drain water into a nearby location using the included clips.
Caution: Do not let the pump run dry as this will damage the motor due to overheating. This is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.

I am a Senior Citizen, who befriended a small painted turtle crossing a busy road. After much research, I found that I needed to purchase a large aquarium for said turtle. I really thought this was an automatic power tool, but I just stick the hose in water, and the scrub brush removes the dirt, then you use the pump to pump it out. I really think this is no different than just putting water in and scrubbing ,then pouring out the water. I wouldn’t purchase this unless I wasn’t planning on totally cleaning out the tank. I can see, mabe it, there are still items in the tank that weren’t removable, then the hand pump would work ok, I guess. I totally take my reptiles out of the tank to clean them. So it’s up to you, but it is well made.

We took it apart and noticed that the motor gets jammed and you have to unclog/unjam it yourself. Definitely not worth the money because it doesn’t get all the water or the debris out. Will be returning second one for sure.

Then once we shut it off and turned it back on it barely works! The brush spins nicely and cleans the tank glass effectively. This is a nice alternative when I don’t have as much time to dedicate to cleaning the tank, never will I need to manually change the whole tank again! Comes with a long tube to help drain all the water. It doesn’t do so well with cleaning the corners but that’s totally fine.

I bought this last weekend to clean out my dirty turtle tank. Overall it was easy to use and worth the money. I do like the fact that it makes it super easy to drain the tank. The only downsides are there is no on / off switch on the tool so you have to really watch the water level when you are draining the tank to ensure you don’t spill water or have an overflow. In addition, I highly recommend using the securing clamps for the hose. The scrubbing tool was ok but I didn’t find any true value add to it. I found it not very ergonomically friendly and hard to use. I recommend unplugging the tool, scrubbing the tank, then plugging it back in to drain. Overall it was not bad.

It can clean on the face and 3 of the 4 sides. It’s super quiet, you don’t even know it’s running if it wasn’t pumping the nasty water out the included suction tube. It comes with handy tank clips so you don’t have to hold the hose out of the tank while you work. The brush bristles are plenty strong. And the cord is quite long so you can reach everywhere. The only thing I wish it included would be a handle mounted power switch. As it is you plug it in and it’s on.

I have had my turtle for ten years and aquarium maintenance (while living a pretty busy life, as we all do) was a chore that was messy, difficult, and I dreaded it due to the amount of time it took. Using those traditional siphons was so gross and messy. *shudders* With this, changing my turtle’s water was… delightful. Easy. Mess free. Simple. SO easy. It’s not the best cleaner when it comes to vacuuming up every little piece of debris (3.5 stars for that, but it still does help with cleaning nonetheless!), but for water changes? Amazing. If you have a turtle, you NEED this tool. Call me crazy, but I’m excited for the next water change! 🙂

The brush itself is sturdy and came with a brush attachment, a tube, and two hooks to keep the tube in place if you need to.
I cleaned my step sons turtle tank pretty easily. I liked that I never had to touch the water and it sucked the water out into the drain pretty easily.
I’m not sure that the brush works that great but it’s still cleaned the surfaces enough to recommend this to someone else. The fact that I didn’t ever have to touch the water was more enough to recommend this suction brush to someone actually.

Before this I used a manual siphon and it was slow, so this was definitely an upgrade. As this is a larger tool I would say its best for tanks larger than a 20 gallon because it was difficult to suck up water in the corners, and a bit difficult to maneuver. Another issue I found is the hose that attaches to the actual tool falls off a lot when maneuvering into corners. Overall, this is a great tool to suck up water quick, but would best be used for larger tanks. Some improvements that would be nice is to make a smaller size tool and an easier way to lock the hose to the tool!

I bought a month ago, didn’t even get one use and the motor quick working. So we bought another one. Same thing happened. Didn’t get one use out of it. We took it apart and noticed that the motor gets jammed and you have to unclog/unjam it yourself. Definitely not worth the money because it doesn’t get all the water or the debris out. I really thought this was an automatic power tool, but I just stick the hose in water, and the scrub brush removes the dirt, then you use the pump to pump it out. I really think this is no different than just putting water in and scrubbing ,then pouring out the water. I wouldn’t purchase this unless I wasn’t planning on totally cleaning out the tank. I can see, mabe it, there are still items in the tank that weren’t removable, then the hand pump would work ok, I guess. I totally take my reptiles out of the tank to clean them. So it’s up to you, but it is well made.

I have had my turtle for ten years and aquarium maintenance (while living a pretty busy life, as we all do) was a chore that was messy, difficult, and I dreaded it due to the amount of time it took. Using those traditional siphons was so gross and messy. *shudders* With this, changing my turtle’s water was… delightful. Easy. Mess free. Simple. SO easy. It’s not the best cleaner when it comes to vacuuming up every little piece of debris (3.5 stars for that, but it still does help with cleaning nonetheless!), but for water changes? Amazing. If you have a turtle, you NEED this tool. Call me crazy, but I’m excited for the next water change! 🙂

I bought this last weekend to clean out my dirty turtle tank. Overall it was easy to use and worth the money. I do like the fact that it makes it super easy to drain the tank. The only downsides are there is no on / off switch on the tool so you have to really watch the water level when you are draining the tank to ensure you don’t spill water or have an overflow. In addition, I highly recommend using the securing clamps for the hose. The scrubbing tool was ok but I didn’t find any true value add to it. I found it not very ergonomically friendly and hard to use. I recommend unplugging the tool, scrubbing the tank, then plugging it back in to drain. Overall it was not bad.

The brush itself is sturdy and came with a brush attachment, a tube, and two hooks to keep the tube in place if you need to.
I cleaned my step sons turtle tank pretty easily. I liked that I never had to touch the water and it sucked the water out into the drain pretty easily.
I’m not sure that the brush works that great but it’s still cleaned the surfaces enough to recommend this to someone else. The fact that I didn’t ever have to touch the water was more enough to recommend this suction brush to someone actually.

Before this I used a manual siphon and it was slow, so this was definitely an upgrade. As this is a larger tool I would say its best for tanks larger than a 20 gallon because it was difficult to suck up water in the corners, and a bit difficult to maneuver. Another issue I found is the hose that attaches to the actual tool falls off a lot when maneuvering into corners. Overall, this is a great tool to suck up water quick, but would best be used for larger tanks. Some improvements that would be nice is to make a smaller size tool and an easier way to lock the hose to the tool!

The brush itself is sturdy and came with a brush attachment, a tube, and two hooks to keep the tube in place if you need to.
I cleaned my step sons turtle tank pretty easily. I liked that I never had to touch the water and it sucked the water out into the drain pretty easily.
I’m not sure that the brush works that great but it’s still cleaned the surfaces enough to recommend this to someone else. The fact that I didn’t ever have to touch the water was more enough to recommend this suction brush to someone actually.

Then once we shut it off and turned it back on it barely works! And the fact that there is no power switch on the handle with a tube that didn’t initially stay fully connected made for big fun clean up! I wish it works as good as it did the first 5 mins of use

I have had my turtle for ten years and aquarium maintenance (while living a pretty busy life, as we all do) was a chore that was messy, difficult, and I dreaded it due to the amount of time it took. Using those traditional siphons was so gross and messy. *shudders* With this, changing my turtle’s water was… delightful. Easy. Mess free. Simple. SO easy. It’s not the best cleaner when it comes to vacuuming up every little piece of debris (3.5 stars for that, but it still does help with cleaning nonetheless!), but for water changes? Amazing. If you have a turtle, you NEED this tool. Call me crazy, but I’m excited for the next water change! 🙂

I bought this last weekend to clean out my dirty turtle tank. Overall it was easy to use and worth the money. I do like the fact that it makes it super easy to drain the tank. The only downsides are there is no on / off switch on the tool so you have to really watch the water level when you are draining the tank to ensure you don’t spill water or have an overflow. In addition, I highly recommend using the securing clamps for the hose. The scrubbing tool was ok but I didn’t find any true value add to it. I found it not very ergonomically friendly and hard to use. I recommend unplugging the tool, scrubbing the tank, then plugging it back in to drain. Overall it was not bad.

I am a Senior Citizen, who befriended a small painted turtle crossing a busy road. After much research, I found that I needed to purchase a large aquarium for said turtle. I really thought this was an automatic power tool, but I just stick the hose in water, and the scrub brush removes the dirt, then you use the pump to pump it out. I really think this is no different than just putting water in and scrubbing ,then pouring out the water. I wouldn’t purchase this unless I wasn’t planning on totally cleaning out the tank. I can see, mabe it, there are still items in the tank that weren’t removable, then the hand pump would work ok, I guess. I totally take my reptiles out of the tank to clean them. I bought this about a month to so ago. I’ve cleaned my turtle’s tank (tried to clean) a few times and used this tool to drain water. Well, the water doesn’t completely drain. Because once it’s below the top of the scrubber, water won’t drain any more. The manual suction at least cleaned all the water out. I wasted my money on the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that this helps me keep my turtle tank clean without the heavy lifting (of the tank itself) when I change out the water. The brush spins nicely and cleans the tank glass effectively. This is a nice alternative when I don’t have as much time to dedicate to cleaning the tank. I do wish it had an off/on switch so I don’t have to pull the plug to turn it off. I do like this brush and plan on using it often.

I bought this to help clean my turtle tank and to assist with water changes. The first use was almost perfect. Once we got the tube to stop falling off the handle it worked good. Then once we shut it off and turned it back on it barely works! And the fact that there is no power switch on the handle with a tube that didn’t initially stay fully connected made for big fun clean up! I wish it works as good as it did the first 5 mins of use

I have 3 different tanks 1 turtle and two fish tanks. We purchased this Thrive Scrub and Drain brush the other day and it saved so much time. Normally with a standard siphon it would take 10-15 mins on our 20 gallon tank this took minutes. Another nice feature is being able to scrub and suck up particles at the same time. Don’t worry the $39.99 is worth every penny and the sum. Definitely a time saver!
